Abstract

Medan State Polytechnic, as one of the leading vocational universities in Medan City, plays a crucial role in producing graduates who are ready to work and possess applied competencies according to industry needs. One of the strategic departments is the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, which focuses on developing students' abilities in technology and programming. Programming courses are an important foundation in developing students' analytical and logical skills. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding basic programming concepts, which results in low academic achievement and learning motivation. This study aims to identify patterns of student understanding in programming courses using the Decision Tree algorithm as a classification method. Through a data mining approach, this study attempts to extract hidden patterns from students' academic data to identify factors that influence their level of understanding. The Decision Tree algorithm was chosen because it is able to produce classification models that are easy to understand and interpret, and is effective in handling both categorical and numerical data. The research data was processed using Google Collaboratory with the help of the scikit-learn library. The testing process was carried out through the formation of a classification model, decision tree visualization, and confusion matrix analysis to measure model performance. Based on the test results, an accuracy value of 50% and an F1-score of 51.68% were obtained, indicating that the Decision Tree model has a good ability to predict and classify students' level of understanding of programming courses. Overall, this research provides an important contribution to the development of data-based learning strategies in vocational education environments. Through the results obtained, lecturers are expected to be able to adjust teaching methods according to student characteristics and abilities, so that the learning process becomes more adaptive, effective, and has a positive impact on improving student understanding of programming courses.

Abstract

The development of technology and industrial automation encourage humans to meet their needs quickly. So that technology was developed to help and ease human work in the future, the automatic door lock system with Arduino Uno-based fingger print is a system created to replace the role of conventional keys. This tool has the ability to detect the correct fingerprint automatically this system is connected to the power supply, namely the adapter, the adapter is connected to the Arduino Uno which has been channeled with all components that have been connected to the pin, such as solenoid door lock, LCD, alarm and relay. Using a single fingerprint sensor, solenoid door lock as unlock, LCD and alarm are useful for Arduino interfaces and microcontrollers as the brain of these systems and programming applications.

Abstract

The vacancy of computer operator staff creates problems such as the delivery of information regarding school administration and activities, which cannot run smoothly. The problems experienced make the school conduct a computer operator recruitment selection to obtain results in accordance with the desired criteria. The computer operator recruitment selection process requires a series of predetermined assessments. The many assessment provisions from the selection process stages, then a decision support system is needed to help the selection process become more effective and efficient. The solution to the problems discussed in this study can be done by building a decision support system using the SMARTER method. The Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique Exploiting Ranks (SMARTER) method is a multi-criteria decision-making method that uses a weighting range between 0 and 1, thus simplifying the calculation and comparison of values ​​for each alternative. Based on previous research, it is said that this method can be used as a decision maker that is easy to learn, in addition to the calculations carried out in this method are very simple when compared to several other methods. The application of the SMARTER method in the decision support system for computer operator recruitment selection is expected to provide benefits in improving the quality and efficiency of the selection process. In addition, the results of this decision support system are expected to ensure that selected candidates have the qualifications that meet the needs. The application of the SMARTER method to the computer operator recruitment selection decided that alternative with code A4 was selected as a computer operator, with a final score of 1.666. Another alternative with code A3 was ranked second and alternative with code A10 was ranked third, both alternatives obtaining the same final score of 1.535.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi dan pengujian aplikasi multimedia berbasis game yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada anak-anak. Dalam era digital saat ini, metode pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan sangat diperlukan untuk menarik perhatian anak-anak dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar mereka. Aplikasi ini mengintegrasikan elemen permainan untuk membuat proses pembelajaran lebih menarik serta efektif dalam mengajarkan kosakata, termasuk nama hewan, buah-buahan, dan transportasi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Kelambir V Kebon. Metode yang digunakan dalam sosialisasi ini melibatkan demonstrasi penggunaan aplikasi kepada anak-anak dan orang tua, serta pengumpulan umpan balik untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas aplikasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman kosakata. Hasil dari pengujian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak menunjukkan semangat yang signifikan dalam menggunakan aplikasi gamebased learning untuk kosakata Bahasa inggris ini. Anak-anak menunjukkan tingkat keterlibatan yang lebih tinggi selama proses belajar dengan menggunakan aplikasi. Permainan yang ada di dalam aplikasi mendorong mereka untuk aktif berpartisipasi. Selain itu, aplikasi ini juga mendapat respons positif dari orang tua, yang menganggapnya sebagai alat bantu yang bermanfaat dalam proses belajar anak.

Abstract

Digitalisasi menyebar hampir disetiap sektor masyarakat, tidak terkecuali di lingkungan sekolah. Sebagai salah satu sektor dasar pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, lingkungan sekolah wajib memberikan pengetahuan terkait konsep digitalisasi dan teknologi informasi yang semakin berkembang. Tidak hanya sekedar definisi namun juga manfaat dan sarana pendukung yang melengkapi konsep digitalisasi. Salah satu aplikasi yang saat ini cukup digemari adalah aplikasi canva. Aplikasi ini cukup fleksibel dengan mengusung penggunaan berbasis web dan mobile yang dapat digunakan dimanapun dan kapanpun. Dengan memanfaatkan kondisi tersebut maka dilakukanlah sebuah aktivitas pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam hal ini di lingkungan sekolah SMK Swasta Delisha di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak. Dimana pengabdian mencakup kegiatan sosialisasi, penerapan keilmuan hingga evaluasi dampak yang dihasilkan. Sosialisasi dilakukan dengan menyampaikan berbagai keilmuan terkait teknologi informasi, penggunaan canva hingga manfaat yang akan diperoleh. Penerapan langsung keilmuan melalui implementasi dibidang iklan dan promosi digital. Sera evaluasi yang dilakukan dengan memperhatikan tingkat penggunaan aplikasi yang telah diajarkan. Dan dari hasil evaluasi yang telah dilakukan, penggunaan canva yang cukup ringan bagi siswa, memberikan daya tarik dan manfaat pengetahuan yang sangat baik.

Abstract

The design of a student subject interest prediction system at SDT Muhammadiyah School is crucial to help the school understand and enhance the quality of education. This system is developed using the Naive Bayes algorithm method, which is known to be effective in analyzing historical data to predict students' preferences for specific subjects. With this system, the school can identify the subjects most favored by students, enabling the development of more targeted and interest-aligned learning strategies. Based on this issue, the author designed a student subject interest prediction system at SDT Muhammadiyah School using the Naive Bayes algorithm method.

Abstract

Problems that often occur in the world of spring bed sales business are frequent ups and downs in predictions, the difficulty of detecting patterns in what can increase sales from buyers makes spring bed sales business people often experience losses, this also happens because business people don't know the strategy. Certainly in increasing sales, it is necessary to make predictions with a high level of accuracy, one of which is with the help of the application of computer science data mining using the C4.5 method. The C4.5 method used in this research is able to produce an optimal decision tree, with the ability to sort out the most relevant attributes in predicting springbed sales. The use of this data mining algorithm is expected to provide insight to springbed business players in making strategic decisions, such as stock management, production planning and more effective marketing campaigns. The experimental steps in this research include collecting springbed sales data. Experimental results show that the Decision Tree algorithm using the C4.5 method is able to provide spring bed sales predictions with an adequate level of accuracy. This model can help Springbed sales business players in planning more appropriate business strategies based on estimated market demand to increase the ups and downs of sales

Abstract

The research conducted is to conduct an employee performance assessment process at a Beauty Clinic. The employee performance assessment process at a Beauty Clinic is carried out to provide awards to qualified employees at the Beauty Clinic. This study applies a Decision Support System (DSS) which is used as a system that can process employee performance assessments at the Beauty Clinic. In the employee performance assessment process at the Beauty Clinic, there are 6 criteria, namely Service Orientation, Integrity, Responsibility, Initiative, Discipline and Attendance. Thus, a system is needed that can make decisions, namely DSS by implementing the MOORA method to obtain preference values ​​from employee performance assessments at the Beauty Clinic, there is the best alternative in alternative A5 with a preference value of 0.37472
