Abstract

AbstractThe study aims to describe the form of disciplinary training of the employees in their public relation function, its influence on, and relationship with the progress of Carrefour Indonesia in Makassar. The study was carried out to the employess of Carrefour Indonesia in Makassar, and the sample was randomly selected. The data were collected through a survey, an audience, and involving questionnaire distribution. The data were analysed with inferential and quantitative descriptive technique. The study proves that the training was carried out in the forms communications activities, i.e. personal communications, counseling, meetings, events, and dialogues. There is a significant correlation between work disciplinary training variables and the companys progress with the strength of association of 0,503, and the positive relationship direction. There is a significant correlation between the independent variables and the dependent ones indicated by the figure 25,3 % which means that there are other Factors (intervening variable) influencing the relationship (74,7 %). The size of the communicator, target, means, and public based on public relation concepts tah is two-way communication and organization communication concept.Keyword ; Disiplin Kerja, Public RelationAbstrakStudi ini dimaksudkan untuk menggambarkan bentuk pembinaan disiplin keija para karyawan dalam hubungannya dengan fungsi Public Relations terhadap kemajuan perusahaan retail Carrefour Indonesia di Makassar. Studi ini telah dilaksanakan pada karyawan Carrefour Indonesia di Makassar, dengan memakai sample yang dipilih secara andom. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara survei, wawancara, dan pengedaran angket. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan memakai teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan statistic inferensial. Studi ini mencoba melihat bagaimana pembinaan disiplin kerja para karyawan dibentuk melalui aktivitas komunikasi, seperti komunikasi intarpribadi, konseling, rapat, perayaan/acara, dan dialog. Hasilnya menun jukkan bahwa ada korelasi yang signifian antara variable disiplin kerja dengan peningkatan keamjuan perusahaan pada level 0.503, dimana korelasi itu positif. Ada juga korelasi yang signifikan antara variable bebas dengan variable tergantung, yang diindikasikan dalam angka 25,3 persen, yang artinya factor lain, dalam hal ini variable intervening memberi pengaruh dalam hubungan itu, yakni 74,7 persen.Keyword : Disiplin Kerja, Public Relations

Abstract

Empowerment is an internal power owned by the community in tackling the problems of social environment. Humans as social beings naturally interact and depend on one another in a dynamic social environment. Social energy development is largely determined by the characteristics of individuals to interact with each other. This study uses (Mixed methods) or a combination of methods of Creswell (2009) with the apprach of explanatory squential strategic.This research was conducted in two districts of Jayapura and Jayapura city in Papua with the intention to analyze the characteristics of individual communities and analyze the relationship of the individual characteristics of communities with community empowerment. The results showed (1) the individual characteristics of society in Papua include: education level, income level, the level  of cosmopolitan and ownership of the means of communication is still relatively low, the level of motivation in the medium category, in the category of adult age, the majority work as a farmer / fisherman; (2) there is a relationship directly and indirectly characteristics of individual communities with community empowerment.

Abstract

Peran komunikasi dalam pembangunan melibatkan berbagai unsur komunikasi yang berkaitan baik secara internal maupun eksternal. Komunikasi pembangunan yang efektif menjadi penting, agar masyarakat dapat mengetahui, mengerti, dan memahami program pembangunan yang dilaksanakan pemerintah. Keterpaduan model komunikasi searah (linier) dan komunikasi partisipatif (konvergen) pada program pemberdayaan di pedesaan dapat mendukung pencapaian tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Penelitian kuantitatif ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Jayapura dan Kota Jayapura Papua, dan bertujuan untuk menganalisis sejauhmana komunikasi pembangunan berperan secara tepat dalam pengembangan energi sosial untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat dan menganalisis hubungan antara peran komunikasi dengan energi sosial masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pengembangan energi sosial ditentukan oleh penerapan komunikasi program dan tingkat komunikasi partisipatif; (2) terdapat pengaruh positif komunikasi program dan tingkat komunikasi partisipatif pada energi sosial masyarakat.

Abstract

The advancement of digital media brings various impacts for the younger generation, especially students, both positive and negative impacts. From the positive impact on students, nowadays they are increasingly spoiled with various ease of accessing information, making friends, communicating, conducting online business activities, carrying out daily work activities. Meanwhile, from negative impacts such as: lack of physical activity, reducing student learning, being easily provoked through hoax news, inefficient in costs, reducing study time and others. Community service activities, through digital media literacy education for students, aim to: increase digital literacy skills for students who are classified as vulnerable to information exposure. The methods used are: socialization and discussion, training, practice of using digital media. With the stages of activities: preparation, implementation and evaluation. Digital media literacy education activities result in an increase in students' knowledge and skills after following the series of materials provided. It is recommended that the school should be more active in conducting supervision, training and mentoring for students in the use of digital media to support studentachievement in school.

Abstract

Mass media as a means of publication and campaign plays a role in raising various issues, one of which is environmental issues. The impact of environmental damage resulting in flash floods in Sentani City, Jayapura Regency, is interesting to study. The flash flood tragedy in Sentai drew the attention of many parties, both the central and local governments as well as the mass media, with the large number of victims, both loss of life and property. This study aims to analyze how the news framing carried out by the mass media in Papua in conveying environmental issues due to flash floods in Sentani City, Jayapura Regency. The research uses a qualitative research design, using framing analysis in a simple way that can be described as content analysis, social reality is interpreted and constructed with a certain meaning. The results of the study are known, the framing can be seen from the influence of the owner (manager) of the media, where for Antaranew.com is one of the state-owned media (Antara) so that the news broadcast or broadcast is attempted to be neutral and provide solutions with competent sources in the field. Meanwhile, at www.ceposoline.com, it can be seen that the two resource persons presented were quite critical, to encourage the government to pay attention to environmental issues. It's just that the news that examines the environment in the two media is very lacking or it seems that news about environmental protection is still less prestigious than the impact of environmental damage, which mostly presents about the number of victims or materials.

Abstract

This research explores the strategic implications of content marketing in the contemporary digital landscape, investigating its impact on brand awareness, consumer engagement, and conversion rates. Employing a multichannel analysis, the study navigates the complex interplay of diverse digital platforms and emerging technologies. Theoretical frameworks, including content marketing models and psychological dimensions, guide the exploration of consumer behavior. Technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, are scrutinized for their influence on content marketing effectiveness. The study addresses existing research gaps by proposing an integrative model synthesizing brand awareness, engagement, and conversion. Methodologically, a mixed-methods approach combines quantitative surveys and analytics with qualitative insights from interviews, providing a comprehensive understanding. Findings are interpreted within the context of the literature, offering insights for both academia and practitioners. The comparative analysis with existing research contributes to refining content marketing models, acknowledging the challenges and opportunities of evolving digital landscapes.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the effectiveness of communication theories in improving public health campaign outcomes. By studying various sources and related literature, the review identifies how the use of communication theories, such as Meaningful Action Theory, Diffusion of Innovations Theory, and Behavior Change Theory, can provide valuable insights in planning and implementing effective communication strategies in a public health context. From this analysis, the study also considered the influence of technology and media in facilitating the dissemination of health messages, as well as how target audiences receive and process these messages. The results show that the strategic application of communication theory has significant potential in improving the effectiveness of public health campaigns. Key findings highlighted the importance of tailored approaches to specific audiences to increase resonance and relevance of messages, the importance of integrating multimedia communication strategies to extend reach and impact, and the need to understand the dynamics and preferences of target audiences. By strategically applying communication theory in the design and implementation of health campaigns, organizations and practitioners can achieve increased awareness, attitude change, and adoption of desired health behaviors among the broader public. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of a theory-based communication approach in enhancing the effectiveness of public health interventions.

Abstract

Social media has revolutionized interaction patterns among teenagers, providing them with new opportunities to communicate and share experiences like never before. However, an important issue that arises is how intensive use of social media affects mental health and the development of social skills. The tendency to spend excessive time online can reduce opportunities for in-person interactions that are important for social and cognitive learning. The lack of face-to-face contact can hinder adolescents in developing empathy and non-verbal communication skills. Furthermore, constant social comparison and the search for online validation can trigger psychological distress, including self-esteem issues and anxiety. The research method in this study uses literature research method. The results show that social media provides ample opportunities for adolescents to connect socially, explore identity, and participate in online communities. However, adolescents' use of social media also poses significant challenges. In particular, findings suggest a correlation between intensive social media use and an increased risk of mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, as well as a reduction in face-to-face interactions that may affect the development of healthy social and emotional skills.

Abstract

Menjelang berakhirnya kepemimpinan Presiden Joko Widodo atau yang sering dipanggil dengan Jokowi, gaya komunikasi kepemimpinannya  banyak mendapat penilaian yang pro dan kontra  dari masyarakat. Meskipun tidak dapat dipungkiri  pro dan kontra tersebut merupakan interpretasi masyarakat dari apa yang terlihat dari berbagai media yang menyampaikan pesan berkaitan dengan cara berkomunikasi atau gaya komunikasi Jokowi sebagai seorang pemimpun negara, di mana pendekatan kultural  lebih sering dilakukan Jokowi menggunakan budaya daerah Solo. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, maka tujuan dari  penelitian ini adalah:1)  Menganalisis komunikasi politik Jokowi, 2) Menganalisis gaya komunikasi kepemimpinan Jokowi 3) Menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kepemimpinan Jokowi. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori kepemimpinan dan gaya komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi literatur review dari berbagai jurnal penelitian terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Komunikasi politik Jokowi menggunakan komunikasi simbolik dan memiliki kredibitas sebagai komunikator politik, 2) Gaya komunikasi dalam kepemimpinan Jokowi menggunakan  komunikasi  konteks tinggi (high context), 3) Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kepemimpinan Jokowi ada dua yaitu internal dan eksternal serta nilai kepemimpinan Jokowi yaitu populis, humanis, demokratis dan cinta tanah air.

Abstract

Introduction: Based on a two-way communication model, effective communication between stakeholders can foster citizen participation in tourism management. Jayapura City's coastal tourism potential must be professionally managed, as evidenced by limited facilities and ineffective promotional strategies. The study aims to examine the community's social, economic, and cultural characteristics and devise an effective marketing communication strategy for developing coastal tourism in Jayapura City.Methods: A qualitative approach utilizing a causal descriptive survey method, also called mixed methods. With Lisrell, the research was analyzed using multiple linear regression and the Structural Equation Model (SEM) model.Findings: The effectiveness of marketing communication in the development of beach tourism in Jayapura City is relatively low in the role of tourism managers and the use of media in tourism promotion. Coastal tourism managers are still dominated by the elderly who are not updated with digital technology. The potential of culture and local wisdom has not been optimized in tourism management. There has been no synergy between interested parties such as government, customary, and community in the application of tourism marketing communication.Originality: Many studies have been conducted on tourism marketing communication strategies, but only a few have studied them from the perspective of tourism development which involves participation and local wisdom of the people in Papua. This study shows that marketing communication strategies are part of the solution, and research on local wisdom and community culture can provide alternative tourism development to improve the welfare of local communities.
