Abstract

Water is a necessity of life that must be met to meet human needs, the need for water seems to never end, including for drinking, processing food, bathing, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry and recreation. The habit of students in Islamic boarding schools is to drink water directly from the source. Sources that do not meet the existing requirements and provisions can be inhabited by bacteria and can pollute the water, one of which is Escherichia coli bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of Escherichiae coli bacteria in dug well water in the coastal village of Sumpang Binangae. This research method is descriptive with a population of 4 dug wells in the coastal village of Sumpang Binangae, with a total sampling technique, data analysis with frequency distribution in percentage, data processing, coding tabulating and identification method of Escherichia coli bacteria with the MPN method. The results of the study from 4 samples tested there were 2 (50%) positive samples containing Escherichia coli bacteria with the number of bacteria 93 in the SG 2 code and >2400 in the SG 4 sample code. The conclusion of this study is that there are Escherichia coli bacteria in two samples from a total of 4 samples or a percentage of 50%.

Abstract

Environmental health is a crucial indicator of public health development, and the role of sanitation workers in community health centers (Puskesmas) is crucial in maintaining a healthy environment. However, environmental health program implementation remains challenging due to staff's limited understanding of program management aspects, such as planning, implementation, and evaluation. This Community Service Program (PKM) activity aims to improve the capacity of sanitation workers through environmental health program management training. This activity was held at Community Health Center X over two days, involving 20 sanitation workers from the community health center's work area. The training methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and program development simulations. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-tests, as well as assessments of program development practices. The results of the activity demonstrated significant improvements in participants' knowledge and skills, particularly in designing annual activity plans based on data and local needs. This training strengthened the capacity of sanitation workers to manage environmental health programs systematically, participatory, and sustainably. It is hoped that this activity will serve as a training model that can be replicated in other community health centers to improve the quality of environmental health services.

Abstract

Work stress is a psychological pressure that can trigger both physical and mental health problems, ultimately affecting employees’ productivity and well-being. This study aims to analyze the relationship between age and length of service with work stress among gas station operators in Watang Sawitto District, Pinrang Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 32 gas station operators as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between age and work stress (p = 0.001), as well as between length of service and work stress (p = 0.002). The novelty of this research lies in its focus on occupational stress factors among gas station operators—a workforce group that is rarely studied despite their exposure to repetitive tasks, environmental hazards, and customer interaction stressors. The practical implications of this study highlight the importance of workplace stress management programs, including periodic psychological assessments and work schedule adjustments, to maintain operator performance and occupational health.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT Limited infrastructure in remote community health centers remains a barrier to improving the quality of health services, while studies specifically evaluating their availability, condition, and compliance with the latest standards are still limited. This study aims to analyze the availability, condition, and compliance of infrastructure at the Gotowasi Community Health Center in South Maba District based on Ministry of Health standards. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument is a checklist prepared based on community health center infrastructure and facilities standards. The results show that the level of infrastructure availability is in the sufficient category with a percentage of 68%. The condition of infrastructure in general is in the sufficient to good category, with the highest scores in the electricity indicator (88%), service space (85%), and sanitation (84%), and the lowest scores in the health information system (60%) and medical waste management (63%). In addition, the analysis results show that the facilities and infrastructure do not fully meet national standards, especially in the aspects of the health information system, medical waste management, and the availability of service transportation. These findings indicate the need to prioritize strengthening information technology infrastructure, medical waste management systems, and more targeted policy and budget support to improve the quality of health services in remote areas.
