Abstract

Balanced nutrition is important for a mother to know and implement; hence, optimal nutritional status for the family could be achieved. Households living in the area of the waste processing site may be exposed to the environmental challenges of implementing clean and healthy living behaviors. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and practices of balanced nutrition among the mothers of under-five children in the area of Bantargebang integrated waste processing site. The study design was cross sectional, with 140 mothers of under-five children participating in September 2022. The data was analyzed quantitatively using descriptive and Spearman correlation test. Results showed that majority of mothers have good knowledge, attitude, and practices of balanced nutrition. There were significant correlations between mothers’ knowledge-attitude (r = 0.170; p = 0.044) and attitude-practices of balanced nutrition (r = 0.291; p = 0.0001). Mothers with good knowledge, attitudes, and practices on balance nutrition may contribute to the optimal nutritional status of the children. In conclusion, mothers’ balanced nutrition practices were correlated with their knowledge and attitude.Keywords: Balanced nutrition, clean and healthy living behavior, mother of under-five children.

Abstract

Overnutrition experienced by adolescents can be caused by several factors, including eating behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between eating behavior and the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents at STIKes Mitra Keluarga. This type of research was quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The independent variables were eating behavior which consists of 3 aspects (emotional eating, restraint eating and external eating) and the dependent variable was nutritional status. The research subjects studied were 210 students of STIKes Mitra Keluarga with an age range of 17 to 20 years. The data that had been obtained were analyzed by independent sample t-test. The results showed that 39.5% of students had more nutritional status and there was a relationship between eating restraint eating behavior and the incidence of overnutrition (p-value = 0.001) but there was no relationship between eating behavior emotional eating and external eating with the incidence of overnutrition, respectively. -with p-values of 0.497 and 0.143, respectively.Keywords: eating behavior; overnutrition; teenager ABSTRAK Gizi lebih yang dialami remaja dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor di antaranya adalah perilaku makan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku makan dengan kejadian gizi lebih pada remaja di STIKes Mitra Keluarga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Variabel independen adalah perilaku makan yang terdiri dari 3 aspek (emotional eating, restraint eating dan external eating) dan variabel dependen yaitu status gizi. Subjek penelitian yang diteliti adalah 210 mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga dengan rentang usia 17 sampai 20 tahun. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis dengan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 39,5% mahasiswa memiliki status gizi lebih dan terdapat hubungan antara perilaku makan restraint eating dengan kejadian gizi lebih (p-value = 0,001) namun tidak ada hubungan antara perilaku makan emotional eating dan external eating dengan kejadian gizi lebih, masing-masing dengan p-value 0,497 dan 0,143.Kata kunci: perilaku makan; gizi lebih; remaja

Abstract

The first thousand days of life/Golden Period / window of opportunity is a crucial phase of life. 1000 days of life starts in the womb until the child is 2 years old.  Nutritional problems that occur in this phase include anemia and stunting. The problems above are nutritional problems that need to be addressed, one of which is by understanding the urgency of 1000 HPK and balanced nutrition. This activity is aim to increase knowledge is carried out in the form of nutrition education. Before the activity, a pre-test was carried out and ended with a post-test at the end of the activity. The success of this activity is concluded by evaluating the pre-test and post-test scores. Of the 35 participants who attended, only 17 participants completed the pre-test and post-test. This was because there were participants who arrived late or did not participate in the activity until the end. The average pre-test score is 7.94 and the average post-test score is 11.24. . There was an increase in scores on the post-test of 3.3 points. Statistical analysis using the paired t-test revealed that the increase in knowledge value occurred significantly (p-value < 0.05).   This community service activity succeeded in increasing participants' knowledge with several supporting factors, including the use of appropriate media, appropriate delivery methods, and adequate time. This activity was successfully carried out and there was a significant increase in participants' knowledge. It is hoped that the increase in knowledge that occurs can change the attitudes and behavior of activity participants so that they implement a balanced nutritional diet in their daily lives.

Abstract

West Java Province has a higher prevalence of adolescent anemia compared to Indonesia, namely 41.5%. Research on 345 vocational school students in Bekasi showed that 31% suffered from anemia. The routine administration of blood supplement tablets (TTD) is a mandatory program to prevent anemia in adolescent girls. The activity of providing blood supplement tablets has not run optimally so it has not achieved the targets that have been set. Peer empowerment through peer educators can be done to encourage and monitor young women in the blood supplement tablet taking program. The aim of this service activity is to increase knowledge of anemia prevention and the ability of peer educators to provide education to their peers. This service program is called BELIA (Bekasi peduli anemia) which partners with SMPN 11 Bekasi City and Aren Jaya Health Center. The targets of BELIA activities are young women in grades 7 and 8, students of SMPN 11 Bekasi City. This activity includes education for 38 young women who were selected to become Duta Belia (peer educators), and practical activities to become Duta Belia using role play and practicum methods which took place on 9 and 10 September 2024. Based on the results of the previous Duta Belia knowledge assessment. and after education, it was discovered that as many as 16 questions (80%) had increased in terms of the number of participants who answered correctly. The highest increase was for questions regarding food or drinks that can inhibit iron absorption. Based on the analysis of the difference in scores before and after education, it is known that there was an increase in the median knowledge score of Duta Belia, namely 45 points before education to 75 points after education. Of the 38 Duta Belia, 97% experienced an increase in knowledge scores. This activity can provide benefits in increasing compliance with TTD consumption if there is a commitment from the Duta Belia who have been formed to continue to remind their peers about consuming TTD.

Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, there are still many problems with nutritional status in adulthood. College students are entering the adult phase. Factors that affect nutritional status are nutritional knowledge and food intake. Individual nutritional knowledge affects behaviour in food selection. Meanwhile, high fiber food intake in adulthood is important for maintaining a healthy body. High fiber content is found in vegetables and fruits. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of nutritional knowledge related to vegetables and fruits and the behaviour of implementing vegetable and fruit consumption with nutritional status in Bhayangkara University Bekasi Students. Method: This study used a cross sectional design method on 61 students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Bhayangkara University Bekasi. Sampling of this study using consecutive sampling method. Data collection includes nutritional knowledge of vegetables and fruits and behaviour measured using the Food Frequency Questioner (FFQ) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The results of bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test show that there is no significant relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status (p-value = 0.153) and there is a significant relationship between the behaviour of implementing vegetable and fruit consumption with nutritional status (p-value = 0.011) in Bhayangkara University Bekasi students. Conclusion: There is no relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status and there is relationship between the behaviour of implementing vegetable and fruit consumption with nutritional status in students of Bhayangkara University Bekasi.

Abstract

The prevalence of obesity in adults over 18 years has increased from year to year. Likewise, in Bekasi City, the prevalence of obesity in adults in 2018 was 29.48%. There are many factors that can influence obesity, namely stress and changes in diet. Students are vulnerable to stress and changes in eating patterns due to their academic activities. So it is necessary to carry out research aimed at analyzing the relationship between stress levels and frequency of instant coffee consumption on the body mass index of STIKes Mitra Keluarga students. This research implemented a cross-sectional design involving samples selected using consecutive sampling techniques, so the number of respondents was 64 students. The results of stress measurements, instant coffee consumption and body mass index were then analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The analysis results showed that the p-value for the stress factor was 0.911 (not correlated with body mass index); while the instant coffee consumption factor was 0.025 (positively correlated with body mass index). Furthermore, it was concluded that instant coffee consumption was a determinant of the body mass index of STIKes Mitra Keluarga students.Keywords: health students; obesity; body mass index; consume instant coffee ABSTRAK Prevalensi obesitas pada orang dewasa di atas 18 tahun mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun. Begitu pula di Kota Bekasi, prevalensi obesitas pada orang dewasa pada tahun 2018 adalah 29,48%. Terdapat banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi obesitas yaitu stres dan perubahan pola makan. Mahasiswa rentan mengalami stres dan perubahan pola makan akibat kegiatan akademik yang dijalaninya. Maka perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dan frekuensi konsumsi kopi instan terhadap indeks massa tubuh mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga. Penelitian ini menerapkan desain cross-sectional dengan melibatkan sampel yang dipilih menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling, sehingga jumlah responden adalah 64 mahasiswa. Hasil pengukuran stres, konsumsi kopi instan dan indeks massa tubuh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai p untuk faktor stres adalah 0,911 (tidak berkorelasi dengan indeks massa tubuh); sedangkan untuk faktor konsumsi kopi instan adalah 0,025 (berkorelasi positif dengan indeks massa tubuh). Selanjutnya disimpulkan bahwa konsumsi kopi instan merupakan determinan indeks massa tubuh mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga.Kata kunci: mahasiswa kesehatan; obesitas; indeks massa tubuh; konsumsi kopi instan

Abstract

Drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) patients have a greater risk of loss to follow-up (LTFU) than drug-sensitive TB patients, due to their longer treatment duration. This study aimed to determine the influence of decentralization and patient type on LTFU among multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) patients in Indonesia. A retrospective cohort study was conducted at all MDR-TB treatment healthcare facilities in Indonesia from 014 to 2015. Using total sampling technique, 961 patients were examined and sampled. Of these patients, 86.03% were decentralized. Patients were classified into types as follows: 35.17% were “relapse” patients, 5.52% were “new,” 13.94% were classified as “after LTFU” patients, 23.10% were “treatment failure category 1” patients, 20.29% were “treatment failure category 2” patients, and 1.90% were classified as “other types” patients. Decentralization reduced LTFU risk by up to 46% (HR = 0.54, 95% CI 0.35–0.84). LFTU in “after LTFU,” “treatment failure category 2,” and “other types” patients was higher by 50%, 53%, 74%, respectively compared to LFTU occurrence in “relapse” (baseline) patients. Among “treatment failure category 2 patients, female patients were 2.13 times more likely to have an occurrence of LFTU, while male patients were 0.55 times as likely to have an occurrence of LFTU, compared to “relapse” type patients of the same sex.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang : Pada masa remaja diperlukan kebutuhan gizi yang berbeda dengan masa kanak-kanak. Pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi remaja dipengaruhi faktor seperti pola makan dan pengetahuan tentang gizi. Pola makan dan pengetahuan gizi yang tidak baik dapat mempengaruhi status gizi pada remaja. Prevalensi overweight pada remaja berdasarkan IMT/U pada 2018 naik menjadi 13,6% dibandingkan tahun 2013 (11,5%), sedangkan yang mengalami obesitas juga mengalami kenaikan dari tahun 2013 yaitu sebesar 14,8 menjadi 21,8% pada tahun 2018. Studi ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis hubungan pola makan dan pengetahuan gizi seimbang dengan kejadian gizi lebih pada mahasiswa di STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi. Metode: Studi cross sectional dilakukan pada 161 mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga yang dipilih menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner pengetahuan gizi seimbang dan Food Frequency Questionare (FFQ). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil : Mayoritas sampel berjenis kelamin perempuan (94,4%), berusia 19 tahun (50,3%) dan berasal dari program studi S1 Keperawatan (43,5%) dan analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square menunjukkan bahwa nilai p-value pada masing-masing variabel penelitian yaitu Pola Makan (0,831) dan Pengetahuan Gizi Seimbang (0,952). Kesimpulan: Tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pola makan dan pengetahuan gizi seimbang dengan kejadian gizi lebih pada mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi. Diet and Balanced Nutrition Knowledge with Overnutrition of STIKes Mitra Keluarga Students Abstract Background: In adolescence, different nutritional needs are needed from childhood. Nutritional needs of adolescents can influenced by factors such as diet and knowledge of nutrition. Poor diet and nutritional knowledge can affect the nutritional status of adolescents. The prevalence of overweight in adolescents based on BMI/age in 2018 increased to 13.6% compared to 2013 (11.5%), while those who are obese also experienced an increase from 2013, which 14.8 to 21.8% in 2018. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between diet and knowledge of balanced nutrition with the incidence of overnutrition among students at STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi. Methods: Cross sectional study was conducted on 161 STIKes Mitra Keluarga students who were selected using consecutive sampling technique. The instruments used were a balanced nutrition knowledge questionnaire and the Food Frequency Questionare (FFQ). Data were analyzed using the Chi Square test. Results: Majority of the sample was female (94.4%), 19 years old (50.3%) and came undergraduate of Nursing program (43.5%). Chi-Square test result indicated that the p-value for each research variable for diet was 0.831 and balanced nutrition knowledge was 0.952. Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between diet and knowledge of balanced nutrition with the incidence of overnutrition among STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi students.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar belakang: Peningkatan kejadian gizi lebih remaja karena penurunan aktivitas fisik dan peningkatan konsumsi makanan yang mengandung lemak dan karbohidrat tinggi di mana makanan tersebut memiliki nilai gizi rendah. Indonesia termasuk 10 negara dengan prevalensi kelebihan gizi terbesar di dunia. Salah satu provinsi yang mengalami gizi lebih melebihi prevalensi gizi lebih adalah Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui faktor- faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi lebih remaja di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKes) Mitra Keluarga Bekasi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional, dengan variabel independen kebiasaan melewatkan sarapan, konsumsi sayur dan buah, konsumsi fast food, aktivitas fisik, dan aktivitas sedentary. Sedangkan variabel dependennya status gizi lebih dengan indikator IMT ≥ 23 kg/m2 . Populasi studi meliputi 450 mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi berusia 17-20 tahun. Data dikumpulkan pada Juni-Juli 2020 dengan sampel sebanyak 215 responden yang dipilih secara consecutive sampling. Uji statistik yang digunakan regresi logistik sederhana. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden berjenis kelamin perempuan (95,3%), berusia 19 tahun (46,0%) dan program studi SI-Keperawatan (32,6%). Hasil uji regresi logistik mendapatkan p-value pada tiap variabel yaitu kebiasaan melewatkan sarapan (0,353), konsumsi sayur (0,721), konsumsi buah (0,853), konsumsi fast food (0,867), aktivitas fisik (0,828), aktivitas sedentary sedang (0,734), aktivitas sedentary berat (0,090). Kesimpulan: Kebiasaan melewatkan sarapan, konsumsi sayur buah, konsumsi fast food, aktivitas fisik serta aktivitas sedentary tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi lebih pada mahasiswa STIKes Mitra Keluarga. Relationship Between the Habits of Skipped Breakfast, Consumption of Vegetables Fruits and Fast Food, Physical Activities, Sedentary Activities with Overnutrition Abstract Background: The increase in the incidence of overnutrition in adolescence due to decreased physical activity and increased consumption of foods with high in fat and high in carbohydrates, which these foods have low nutritional value. Indonesia is one of the 10 countries with the highest prevalence of overweight in the world. One of the provinces experiencing overnutrition above the prevalence of overnutrition in Indonesia is West Java. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of overnutrition in STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. The independent variable was habit of skipping breakfast, consumption of vegetables, fruits, consumption of fast food, physical activity, sedentary activity, while the dependent variable was over nutritional status with BMI indicators ≥ 23 kg / m2 . The study population was 450 STIKes Mitra Keluarga Bekasi students aged 17-20 years. Data collection was carried out in June-July 2020 with a sample of 215 respondents who were selected by consecutive sampling. To determine the relationship between the two variables studied, the data were analyzed using a Simple Logistic Regression test. Result: Most of the respondents were female (95.3%), 19 years old (46.0%), SI-Nursing study program (32.6%). Simple Logistic Regression test results obtain p-value for each variable is the habit of skipping breakfast (0.353), vegetables consumption (0.721), fruits consumption (0.853), fast food consumption (0.867), physical activity (0.828), moderate sedentary activity (0.734), and heavy sedentary activity (0.090). Conclusion: There is no relationship between the habit of skipping breakfast, consumption of vegetables, fruits, and fast food, physical activity and sedentary activity with overnutrition in STIKes Mitra Keluarga students.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang: Penelitian di Malaysia mendapatkan hasil 71,6% mahasiswa kurang menjalani pola hidup sehat dan di Indonesia sendiri terdapat 52,3%. Pola hidup seseorang dapat menurun dikarenakan mengalami stres dan hilangnya rasa percaya diri. Penyebab seseorang kurang menjalani pola hidup sehat karena makanan yang dikonsumsi belum memenuhi standar kecukupan gizi, sehingga tubuh menjadi kurang sehat, terlihat kurus, dan menimbulkan rasa kurang percaya diri dalam berpenampilan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dan ketidakpercayaan diri dengan pola hidup sehat mahasiswa Gizi STIKes Mitra Keluarga. Metode: Menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Mahasiswa Gizi STIKes Mitra Keluarga sebanyak 106 orang sebagai sampel dari penelitian dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 (DASS 21), kuesioner ketidakpercayaan diri, dan kuesioner pola hidup sehat. Analisis data dilakukan pengujian statistik menggunakan regresi logistik berganda. Hasil: Mayoritas karakteristik sampel berjenis kelamin perempuan (95,3%), dengan usia 21 tahun (35%). Hasil analisis multivariat didapatkan p-value=0,002 pada variabel tingkat stres dengan OR sebesar 9,425 (95%CI 2,254-39,412), p-value=0,006 untuk perbandingan antara ketidakpercayaan diri sedang dibanding rendah dengan OR sebesar 6,973 (95%CI 1,745-27,867) dan p-value=0,041 untuk perbandingan antara ketidakpercayaan diri tinggi dibanding rendah dengan OR sebesar 12,306 (95%CI 1,109-136,549). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres dan ketidakpercayaan diri dengan pola hidup sehat mahasiswa Gizi STIKes Mitra keluarga. Kata Kunci: Ketidakpercayaan diri, pola hidup sehat, tingkat stres Abstract Background: Research in Malaysia found that 71.6% of students lacked a healthy lifestyle, and in Indonesia alone, there were 52.3%. A person's lifestyle can decrease due to stress and loss of self-confidence. The cause of a person not living a healthy lifestyle is because the food consumed does not meet nutritional adequacy standards, so the body becomes unhealthy, looks thin, and creates a feeling of lack of confidence in appearance. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between levels of stress and insecurity with the healthy lifestyle of Nutrition STIKes Mitra Keluarga students. Methods: Using an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional design. There were 106 STIKes Mitra Keluarga Nutrition Students as samples from the study by taking samples using simple random sampling. Collecting data using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 (DASS 21) questionnaire, self-doubt questionnaire, and healthy lifestyle questionnaire. Analyze data were carried out using multiple logistic regression. Results: Most sample characteristics are female (95.3%) and aged of 21 (35%). The results of the multivariate analysis obtained a p-value=0.002 for the stress level variable with an OR of 9.425 (95%CI 2.254-39.412), p-value=0.006 for a comparison between moderate self-confidence compared to low with an OR of 6.973 (95%CI 1.745-27.867) and p-value=0.041 for a comparison between high versus low self-confidence with an OR of 12.306 (95%CI 1.109-136.549). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between stress levels and self-doubt with the healthy lifestyle of STIKes Mitra Keluarga nutrition students.
