Abstract

This study investigates the effects of financial literacy, digital financial literacy, financial attitudes, and hedonistic lifestyles on financial behavior with self-efficacy and locus of control as mediating variables. The study used qualitative approach with survey design involving 200 students at State University of Makassar. Data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicated that financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and hedonistic lifestyle significantly influence to self-efficacy. In contrast, financial attitude does not have a statistically significant effect on self-efficacy. Furthermore, financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and financial attitude significantly influence to locus of control, while hedonistic lifestyle does not exert a meaningful influence on this construct. Concerning financial behavior, both of financial literacy and financial attitude show significant direct effect, whereas digital financial literacy and hedonistic lifestyle do not exhibit significant direct relationships. In addition, self-efficacy has a significant effect on financial behavior, while locus of control does not significantly predict this outcome. The mediation analysis indicates that only hedonistic lifestyle has a significant indirect effect on financial behavior through self-efficacy, whereas other indirect effect through self-efficacy and locus of control are not statistically significant. These findings suggest that self-efficacy functions as a more salient psychological mechanism than locus of control in connecting cognitive determinants and lifestyle orientation to financial behavior. This study's will contribute to the theoretical literature by clarifying the differential role of self-efficacy and locus of control. It offers practical implications, emphasizing that improving students’ financial behavior requires strengthening their confidence in financial decision-making and enhancing financial literacy.

Abstract

The development of the contemporary labor market demands that university graduates possess not only technical skills but also interpersonal and professional competencies that support work readiness. In this context, internship programs serve as a critical vehicle for developing employability skills through authentic work experiences. This study aims to identify and describe the employability skills developed through the internship experiences of Business Administration students at the Customer Service Unit (ULP) of PT PLN (Persero). A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected from student internship reports, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) through the processes of open coding, categorization, and theme abstraction. The findings reveal that the employability skills developed encompass two principal dimensions: hard employability skills and soft employability skills. Soft employability skills developed more prominently than hard employability skills, attributable to the nature of work in the Customer Service Unit, which demands intensive customer interaction and coordination within an organizational setting. The combination of these skills also constitutes transferable competencies that contribute to long-term employability. This study yields implications for curriculum development and internship programs oriented toward the integration of technical and non-technical skills in preparing graduates for the professional world.

Abstract

Halal tourism studies have thus far been dominated by attributive and symbolic approaches, while the value dimensions underlying destination practices and sustainability have not been explored in depth. This study aims to investigate the value proposition underlying Lombok's halal tourism branding. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design in two community-based destinations. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions, then analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that halal tourism practices in Lombok are shaped by ethical capital consisting of social dedication, understanding of halal, and obedience, which serve as the foundation of the destination's value proposition. These findings confirm that the sustainability and credibility of Lombok's halal tourism branding depend on the strength of local values that live within the business community, so that halal destination development strategies need to be directed at strengthening community values and involvement, not merely symbolic promotion.

Abstract

The effort to maintain business sustainability in the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector is increasingly associated with financial literacy and sustainability-oriented financing practices. In this context, this study investigates the roles of green finance and financial literacy in influencing business sustainability, with financial management behavior positioned as a mediating variable. The study adopts a quantitative approach involving 150 MSME owners as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The empirical findings indicate that the implementation of green finance and the level of financial literacy possessed by business owners significantly contribute to the enhancement of business sustainability. In addition, financial management behavior was found to have a direct effect on business sustainability. Furthermore, financial management behavior functions as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationships between green finance and financial literacy and business sustainability. These findings underscore that the combination of adequate financial knowledge and access to sustainable financing schemes can foster more adaptive and effective financial management behavior. Ultimately, this becomes an important factor in supporting the resilience and long-term sustainability of MSMEs. Therefore, strengthening financial literacy and expanding access to sustainable financing instruments should become priorities in the formulation of MSME empowerment policies.
