Abstract

Gender equality is a concept based on human rights. This concept sees that in social phenomena, the position of women in aspects of work, particularly in the mining sector tends to give rise to a negative perspective. For this reason, it is necessary to have international actors, both individuals and groups, and countries to be able to encourage gender mainstreaming which is supported by the 5th SDGs. This study analyzes the position of women in the mining sector at PT. Freeport Indonesia, whether the empowerment of female workers has fulfilled labor rights, and whether there are regulations in creating gender equality in the company environment in 2017-2019. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method that looks at the cause-and-effect relationships of the social phenomena that occur. The final result of this paper leads to a liberal feminist view that women have opportunities in the economic aspect, and obtain the same rights as men in managing existing resources. This is in accordance with the gender equality approach in the 5th SDGs with the fulfillment of global targets for women's empowerment by PT. Free port Indonesia.

Abstract

Initiatives to promote democracy in Indonesia continue to face several difficulties and hurdles. One of the major concerns is the emergence of radical ideas arising and hiding under the guise of democracy. Due to globalization, radicalism has evolved rapidly and taken on new forms. Considerable efforts are needed to maintain democratization in Indonesia, according to Pancasila, the foundational philosophical theory. This qualitative research uses descriptive analysis and data-gathering methods based on a review of current literature, such as news, journal articles, and books. The findings show that radical ideology in Indonesia has evolved and penetrated government bodies and people’s social lives. Terrorist-affiliated radical organizations, many of which have been disbanded, morphed into different forms to adapt to the community’s social lives. The transformation of radicalism in Indonesia necessitates a concerted effort on the part of the government as a state entity capable of deradicalizing education and preventing radical ideology.

Abstract

The issue of gender inequality is one of the big problems that Japan is facing nowadays. In the annual survey of the Women Economic Forum, Japan often occupies the lowest position in the indicators of women's participation in politics. This issue became one of Shinzo Abe's priorities when he was elected Prime Minister in 2012. Through a major policy during his administration known as Abenomics, Shinzo Abe introduced Womenomics as a gender-based policy strategy to increase women's participation in the workforce, including in politics. Womenomics was developed into several policies that are expected to provide a sense of security for women to be involved in politics so that women's participation rates were expected to increase. This article examines the implementation of Womenomics on women's participation in Japanese domestic politics from 2013 to 2020. It employs the qualitative approach and uses liberal feminism theory as its analytical framework. The data used in this study were secondarily obtained from various sources of books and publications by the Japanese government.
