Abstract

Background : One of the health problems that has become a global issue is stunting. where Stunting is a form of malnutrition that creates a global public health problem and is an important supporting factor in achieving the Human Development Index in a country nation. Stunting (dwarfism) is a condition where a toddler has less length or height compared to age. Stunting is a disorder or failure of linear growth that occurs in children with signs of pathological disorders and chronic conditions. This represents delayed growth due to long-term malnutrition associated with increased morality and mortality, impaired growth, impaired development and cognitive function. Stunting increases the risk of chronic disease in adulthood. Stunting is currently still being faced by developing countries. Approximately 65% of deaths among children under five are due to malnutrition and malnutrition, which represents one third of the disease burden among children and mothers. Indonesia is one of the developing countries that has a high prevalence of stunting, accounting for the top five cases of stunting, out of 88 countries in the world. The 2020 Global Nutrition Report shows an increase in the number of stunted children under five from A149 million to 149.2 million in 2018. Based on global data, the prevalence of stunting in rural areas is greater than in urban areas with a prevalence of 35.6% and 25% respectively. 6%. Based on gender, more boys experience stunting, namely 33.5% compared to girls at 31.2% Objective : This research aims to have an influence on reducing the stunting rate in Karang Jinawi Village by holding DESAS (Healthy Kitchens to Overcome Stunting) activities to increase the knowledge and skills of mothers in making additional food (PMT) pudding from Moringa leaves. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : Activities are carried out in stages starting from analyzing the situation of the intervention area, designing a Plan of Action (POA), surveying the root causes of problems and solutions to problems in the intervention area, carrying out Focus Discussion Groups (FGD) using the USG (Urgency, Seriousness, and Growth) method as well as interventions and evaluation. Determining the problem in Sepaku Subdistrict, Karang Jinawi Village begins by reviewing secondary and primary data. Secondary data is in the form of Karang Jinawi Village and Subdistrict Profile data for 2024. Results : DESAS (Healthy Kitchens Overcome Stunting) is an activity carried out jointly as an effort to overcome the problem of malnutrition among pregnant women who have the potential to give birth to stunted children in Karang Jinawi Village. Through the delivery Aof material and practice of making additional food (PMT) pudding from Moringa leaves. The DESAS (Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting) program is implemented at the Karang Village Hall Jinawi on Thursday, July 18 2024, 09.30 to 11.30 WITA. Achieving an increase in understanding of the Karang Jinawi community, especially mothers who attended the presentation of the DESAS Conclusion/Lesson Learned : In Karang Jinawi Village, it shows that meeting nutritional needs during pregnancy is very important for maternal health and fetal development. The nutritional needs of pregnant women increase significantly compared to non-pregnant women, because mothers not only have to meet their own nutritional needs, but also to support their growth and development. fetal development. Lack of nutritional intake can cause various health problems, both for mothers and babies, such as low birth weight, growth restrictions, and the risk of congenital defects. The DESAS program plays an important role in increasing nutritional knowledge among pregnant women through education and direct practice. With training on making additional nutritious foods, such as pudding from Moringa leaves, this program not only provides theory but also practical skills that can be applied in everyday life.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on Relationship Quality (RQ) in inpatient services at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Regional Public Hospital, Samarinda. CRM in healthcare comprises four dimensions: Customer Knowledge, Customer Knowledge Management Capability, Customer Interaction, and Customization, which theoretically support patient trust, satisfaction, and commitment. Using a quantitative analytical survey design, data were collected from 390 purposively selected inpatients who had visited the hospital at least twice in the past six months. A closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire was used, and data were analyzed with the Chi-square test. Results show that Customer Knowledge, Customer Knowledge Management Capability, and Customization significantly affect RQ, while Customer Interaction has no significant effect. These findings highlight that understanding patients comprehensively, effectively managing patient knowledge, and tailoring services to patient needs are strategic in strengthening hospital–patient relationships. Practical implications suggest prioritizing CRM strategies focused on patient needs and experiences to foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

Abstract

Abstract The use of conventional cigarettes among adolescents remains an urgent public health issue globally, including in Indonesia. Based on data from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS), the prevalence of smokers aged 13–15 years continued to increase from 18.3% (2016) to 19.2% (2019), and even reached 23% in 2023 based on data from the Ministry of Health in 2023. SMP 5 Muhammadiyah is a junior high school owned by the Muhammadiyah Samarinda Foundation. Preliminary studies found cigarette butts during a raid in 2024. Furthermore, there are many stalls around the school that sell cigarettes by the stick or by the pack. As a school located in a densely populated area of Samarinda, with students whose parents come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, the norm of cigarette use in families and the surrounding community has contributed to a high tolerance for smoking, even among school-age children. This reinforces the importance of educational interventions that are not only prohibitive in nature but also target changes in students' mindsets and self-awareness. This community service activity aims to organise an educational campaign on the dangers of smoking. The stages of community service activities included the creation of health education media in the form of leaflets and the preparation of presentation materials on the cost efficiency of cigarettes. These activities were attended by 55 students from grades VII and IX. The results of these activities showed an increase in knowledge in the good category from 85.5% to 92.7%. Keywords: education; cost efficiency; cigarette; knowledge; adolescence.

Abstract

As hospital competition and service demands rise, patient loyalty becomes a critical asset. Therefore, understanding how Customer Relationship Management (CRM) influences Relationship Quality (RQ) is essential. CRM is no longer just an administrative tool; it is a core strategy to strengthen RQ. By improving understanding, interaction, and personalization, CRM directly builds the trust, satisfaction, and commitment that form a strong RQ, which is the foundation for patient loyalty. This study analyzes the influence of Customer Relationship Management on Relationship Quality in inpatient services at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital. Method Using a quantitative analytical survey design, data were collected from 390 purposively selected inpatients who had visited the hospital at least twice in the past six months. A closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire was used, and data were analyzed with the Chi-Square tests and Logistic Regression were included. The results show that Customer Knowledge, Customer Knowledge Management Capability, and Customization have a significant effect on RQ, while Customer Interaction has no significant effect. Overall, RQ plays a central role as a mediator, where the application of the Customer Relationship Management strategy is significantly able to strengthen the loyalty of inpatients at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda Hospital through the formation of quality relationships.

Abstract

Pasundan Public Health Center ranks among the top three areas with the highest prevalence of Non- Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Samarinda City, with 23.2% hypertension and 2.95% diabetes mellitus cases. The main challenge lies in the suboptimal role of health cadres in implementing the Integrated Primary Care (ILP) program and their limited digital health literacy. This issue highlights a practical and scientific gap in the effective utilization of health cadres for NCD prevention and control through technology-based health education. To optimize the role of health cadres in the implementation of ILP by improving their knowledge, communication, and digital literacy skills for NCD prevention and control in tropical regions. The program was implemented through community service activities, including socialization, health education, and practical demonstrations involving 37 health cadres from 35 integrated health posts. Evaluation of outcomes was conducted using interactive pre–post tests and participant feedback to measure improvements in knowledge and skills. The evaluation showed a significant increase in cadres’ knowledge from 68% to 89%, along with an improvement in communication and digital literacy skills by 35–40%. The training enhanced cadres’ confidence and ability to utilize digital platforms in disseminating health information related to NCD prevention and control. The program successfully strengthened the capacity of health cadres in technology-based health promotion, supporting the sustainability and effectiveness of Integrated Primary Care at the primary healthcare level. Enhancing digital literacy among cadres is crucial for improving NCD prevention and control efforts in tropical regions.

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that poor-quality healthcare in low- and middle-income countries contributes to approximately 8.4 million deaths annually, highlighting service quality as a critical determinant of patient safety and health system performance. Service quality influences patient satisfaction, trust, and revisit intention, particularly in outpatient care. This study aimed to examine the relationship between service quality dimensions and revisit intention among outpatients at Siaga Al-Munawwarah Hospital, Samarinda. A quantitative cross-sectional design was conducted from January 2025 to February 2026 involving 118 respondents selected using the Lemeshow formula and purposive sampling. Data were collected through a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire measuring tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and revisit intention, and were analyzed using univariate analysis and Fisher’s Exact test at a 95% confidence level (α=0.05). The results showed significant associations between reliability (p=0.004), tangibles (p=0.001), empathy (p=0.023), and responsiveness (p=0.000) with revisit intention, while assurance (p=0.313) was not significantly related. These findings indicate that reliability, physical evidence, empathy, and responsiveness play important roles in increasing outpatient revisit intention, whereas assurance tends to function as a basic expectation rather than a distinguishing factor in patients’ decisions to return. Keywords: Service Quality, Revisit Intention, Hospital Services.
