Abstract

Modern agriculture faces serious challenges such as climate change, soil degradation, and dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which negatively impact the environment and human health. To support sustainable food security, innovative and environmentally friendly solutions are required. One promising alternative is the use of endophytic bacteria as biological agents to enhance plant growth without relying on synthetic chemicals. This study aims to examine the role of endophytic bacteria in organic farming systems through a combination of laboratory tests and field experiments. The research stages include isolation and identification of endophytic bacteria from plant tissues, testing the ability of the bacteria to support plant growth in vitro, and applying it to organic farmland to evaluate resistance to pests and crop yields. The independent variable in the study is the type of endophytic bacteria, while the dependent variables include plant growth rates, pest resistance, and crop productivity. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and ANOVA, followed by post-hoc tests to determine the effectiveness of the treatments. The results showed that treatments with endophytic bacteria, both singular and combined, significantly improved vegetative growth, reduced pest attacks, and increased crop yields compared to the control. The combination of bacterial isolates proved to have a stronger synergistic effect than single treatments. These findings demonstrate the potential of endophytic bacteria as natural biofertilizers and biopesticides to support environmentally friendly organic farming.

Abstract

The export logistics process in seaborne shipping is highly complex, influenced by numerous factors that can affect efficiency, timeliness, and safety of shipments. Freight forwarders, such as PT. Q Logs Indonesia, play a crucial role in managing and ensuring the smooth movement of export shipments across borders. This study aims to identify and analyze key factors that contribute to disruptions in the shipping process, using the Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram as a tool. The diagram categorizes potential causes into six main areas: Man (Human Resources), Method (Work Methods), Machine (Equipment and Systems), Materials (Documents and Goods), Mother Nature (Environmental and Regulatory Factors), and Management (Policy and Coordination). Data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research identifies several root causes of logistical inefficiencies, including inadequate training, inefficient procedures, outdated systems, document errors, regulatory changes, and mismanagement. By mapping these issues using the Fishbone diagram, the study provides valuable insights into the underlying causes of delays and disruptions in the export logistics process. The findings offer practical recommendations for PT. Q Logs Indonesia to address operational bottlenecks, streamline procedures, and improve the overall reliability and efficiency of seaborne export logistics. These insights are expected to help the company optimize its export operations, reduce delays, and enhance service delivery to customers.

Abstract

Hydraulic valve failure on a tanker can significantly impact operational performance and shipping safety. This study aims to analyze the causes, impacts, and solutions to hydraulic valve failure on the MT. Beyond. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was performed using the Fishbone Diagram method to identify root causes and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate the level of failure risk based on severity, occurrence, and detection parameters. The results showed that hydraulic valve failure was influenced by human, machine, material, method, and environmental factors, with the dominant causes being operational errors, low component quality, fluid contamination, and lack of maintenance. The FMEA analysis showed that the key components with high risk were the disc and seat, which had the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) values of 162 and 132, respectively. Failure of these components can cause uncontrolled flow, potentially reducing overall system performance due to corrosion, leakage, and wear, thus becoming the main priority for repair. The conclusion of this study confirms that improving component quality, regular maintenance, operator training, and implementing an effective monitoring system can reduce the risk of failure and increase the reliability of the ship's hydraulic system.
