Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the financial feasibility of the melon cultivation of the Sweet Hami variety with the DRFT (Dynamic Root Floating Technique) hydroponic system at Indogarden Greenhouse, Tuban. The research method employed is a descriptive quantitative approach, utilising primary data collected through interviews and secondary data sourced from the Indogarden Greenhouse Farm's business bookkeeping records for the period 2023–2025. The business feasibility analysis used the criteria of Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C), and Payback Period (PP). The results of the analysis showed that the premium melon cultivation business at Indogarden Greenhouse is feasible to develop. This is indicated by the NPV value of Rp72,869,633.98 (positive) at an interest rate of 6.5%, IRR of 29%, which is greater than the interest rate of 6.5%, B/C ratio of 1.7 (more than 1), and a payback period of 4 harvests. These financial indicators consistently show that investment in this premium melon farming business can provide significant profits and return on capital in a relatively short time, so it has high potential for sustainability. Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):SDG 2: Zero HungerSDG 8: Decent work and economic growthSDG 9 - Industry, Innovation, and InfrastructureSDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production

Abstract

Art education often receives less attention than other academic fields. Art is an activity that can increase creativity and become a means of self-expression for students. Based on these conditions, students strive to raise awareness of art in elementary school students by holding training on making Batik Ecoprint using Tote Bag media. Ecoprinting is a technique for printing batik motifs using natural materials without chemicals such as leaves, flowers, and plants. Ecoprinting activities are included in art activities because they require creativity in doing so. This training activity is one of the activities of KKN-T Defending the Country of UPN "Veteran" East Java Students. The target of this activity is elementary school students in Grades 5A and 5B of Wachid Hasyim 2 Elementary School Surabaya. The results of the activity showed that 80% of SD Wachid Hasyim students were able to increase creativity, be able to understand the ecoprint process using natural materials and increase students awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. The skills of students who can explore art in eco-print batik design provide business opportunities for students to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age through their independent works.

Abstract

Gunung Anyar District in Surabaya focuses on agropolitan development to encourage regional economic growth, especially in agribusiness. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are important in improving the economy, reducing unemployment, and improving welfare. However, MSMEs face challenges with branding, digital marketing, and environmental impact. The community service program by UPN Veteran East Java aims to support the development of MSMEs through digitalization, product branding, and product diversification. The program also discusses environmental issues, including waste management and Urban Farming. Collaboration between local governments, MSMEs, and the community is essential for the success of this program. The program aims to overcome barriers such as low sales turnover and limited market access, strengthen the position of MSMEs in a competitive market, and become an example of sustainable business practices. The Lecturer Team conducts continuous socialization and assistance related to MSME skills in implementing digital marketing, training and mentoring "e-brilliant MSMEs" and maintaining cleanliness and preservation of the surrounding environment to reduce carbon footprint, increase green open space, and meet food needs through urban farming.
