Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) for Mapping Tourist Destinations in Jambi Province at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jambi Province. The system was developed to overcome the limitations of tourism promotion media, which previously relied only on social media, resulting in less structured information. The research applied the waterfall method, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system was built using the Laravel framework, MySQL database, and Leaflet JS library with OpenStreetMap as the base map. The results show that the system can present tourist destination information in an interactive digital map, complete with location details, descriptions, facilities, galleries, accommodations, and tour guides. This system enables the public to access tourism information more easily and provides the department with a more effective tool for managing and promoting tourism.

Abstract

Hotel is a designation for service providers in room service. In this industrial 4.0 era, hotels have developed a lot, especially in the field of technology in conducting room management. The use of this information system is very much needed for hotels in order to be able to collect guest data effectively and efficiently. However, by using the existing system, guest data in the process of staying can still be manipulated by hotel employees, especially irresponsible receptionists. In this study, analysis, design, and implementation of a self-check-in and check-out system were carried out which could reduce receptionist fraud in room management. This system also provides a Booking Engine so that guests can make room reservations independently and integrated directly with the Front Office System (FOS) for receptionist in room management. By implementing the function of the QR Code to carry out the check-in and check-out process independently, making receptionist access rights more limited, and room management becoming more transparent. This system is built using the PHP programming language, extreme programming development methods, and MySQL database. With the construction of a web-based hotel self check-in and check-out system, it can help simplify room reservations, room management, and reduce receptionist fraud in manipulating guest data.

Abstract

The effectiveness of internal control in the accounting information system of a mid-sized distribution company remains an underexplored topic in research. Using the template analysis method, a case study was conducted at a mid-sized distribution company. Various issues and fraudulent activities were identified within the company. This study aims to uncover the root causes by analyzing the internal control of the company’s revenue and expenditure cycles using the COSO Framework. The study also examines the impact of internal control weaknesses in the context of the Fraud Hexagon. The research finds that there is a general lack of implementation of internal control within the accounting information system, which triggers various fraud motivations. The company needs to optimize the use of the Distribution Management System in its daily operations, especially in bookkeeping. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the importance of implementing internal control in accounting information systems in distribution companies.

Abstract

Fixed asset management is an essential part of regional financial governance. However, many regional assets remain unused (idle assets), leading to inefficiencies and additional maintenance costs. This study aims to analyze the role of the Regional Management Information System for Regional Property (SIMDA BMD) in optimizing the utilization of unused fixed assets in the Bengkalis Regency Government. A qualitative approach was applied with data collected through documentation, interviews, and observations involving the Head of Asset Subdivision, accounting staff, and asset managers. The findings reveal that SIMDA BMD contributes to improving the accuracy of asset recording and transparency of information but has not been effective in identifying idle assets. The local government is committed to migrating to the e-BMD system to enable real-time monitoring and utilization of idle assets. These findings are expected to contribute to developing more effective, accountable, and value-oriented regional asset management practices.

Abstract

The study describes the development of the data repository system for Bulacan State University’s Department of Information Technology that was accomplished using Google Sites. The system is an orderly, accessible mechanism for storage, conservation, and administration of digital resources. Quantitative research was conducted to utilize questionnaires and document analysis to investigate whether there is a need for a central repository. The respondents were randomly chosen using simple random sampling, and they comprised domain experts and department members who were lecturers. The repository was analyzed using the ISO 25010:2011 method to optimize the appreciable challenges presented in document fixing, including duplicating files and links, the lack of ample space, data corruption, the inadequacy of keywords in the search, and the issue of migration. Using Google Sites to implement it, thus making the system more accessible and usable thus this can be a practical example of a departmental document repository. It supports its purpose in improving productivity, accessibility, and long-term preservation. The study demonstrates that the use of the developed system largely reduces errors associated with document management and presents an organized, efficacious, and dependable central mechanism in addressing the common challenges in digital resource conservation and retrieval.
