Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of an ethnopedagogical e-module based on Dalihan Na Tolu values in enhancing students’ critical literacy and responsibility in higher education. The integration of local wisdom into digital learning is expected to improve learning relevance and strengthen character development. Methods: This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects were ten students of the Public Administration Study Program at Universitas Graha Nusantara selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre-test and post-test. Results: Expert validation indicated that the e-module was valid with an average feasibility score of 85%. The results showed an increase in students’ critical literacy from 54.3 (pre-test) to 73.0 (post-test), while responsibility improved from 2.7 to 4.2. The paired sample t-test revealed that the improvement was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Novelty: This study contributes an innovative ethnopedagogical e-module integrating Dalihan Na Tolu values with digital learning to foster critical literacy and student responsibility.

Abstract

Writing poetry is an important component of language learning in elementary schools because it allows students to express ideas, feelings, and experiences through written language. However, in reality, many students still experience difficulties in developing ideas, choosing appropriate diction, and constructing a coherent poem structure. These difficulties often impact students' low ability in poetry writing activities. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine how well fifth-grade elementary school students can use the Suggestopedia method to improve their poetry writing skills. This study used a two-cycle method called Classroom Action Research (CAR), which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection as the four phases of each cycle. Fifth-grade elementary school students participated in this study. Examinations of students' written work, classroom observations, and records of their academic progress were used to collect data. After using the Suggestopedia method, students' poetry writing skills improved significantly, according to the research findings. From 63.2 in the pre-action stage to 72.4 in Cycle I, and even better to 80.6 in Cycle II, the average score showed a significant increase. The level of student learning mastery also increased, from 36% in the pre-action stage to 56% in Cycle I and 84% in Cycle II.

Abstract

One factor that can influence the development of a student's literacy culture is their social environment. The social environment is a system of interactions between individuals and various parties around them that can influence their attitudes, behaviors, and habits in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the influence of the social environment on students’ literacy culture and its contribution to literacy culture at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Hikmah Bandar Lampung. The research employs a quantitative correlational approach. The population consisted of 323 students, with a sample of 179 students selected using cluster sampling. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires, and simple linear regression was used for data analysis. The results indicate that the t-value is 12.171, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.973, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of Hₐ. This finding confirms that the social environment significantly affects students’ literacy culture. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.456, suggesting that the social environment contributes 45.6% to students’ literacy culture, while the remaining 54.4% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

The current era of technological disruption brings radical challenges to the existence of Islamic education, where the flow of digital information often blurs the boundaries of ethics and students' identities. This study aims to analyze the strategy of constructing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) based on adab (ethics) as an effort to strengthen student identity in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools) in facing the dynamics of this disruptive era. Through a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected using in-depth interviews, participatory observation of daily religious practices, and curriculum documentation studies. The results show that teachers' efforts in constructing adab begin with instructional planning that explicitly integrates the values ​​of tabayyun (religious trust), amanah (trustworthiness), and tawadhu (religious humility) into teaching materials and digital interactions. Teachers play a central role as motivators through role models (uswah hasanah) that foster students' intrinsic pride in their Muslim identity, and as evaluators through authentic assessments that monitor the consistency of student behavior. Although the construction of adab has proven effective in building moral immunity, its success still faces obstacles in the form of dual student identities in the digital space and a lack of value synergy with the family environment. The conclusion of this study confirms that strengthening Islamic identity in the era of disruption requires an integrated "Digital Etiquette Literacy" model that integrates the school ecosystem and the role of parents to maintain the authenticity of students' character.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the types of illocutionary speech acts found in Instagram posts of @official_unila as a form of digital communication used by an educational institution. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data consist of texts or captions in posts of the Instagram account @official_unila that contain illocutionary speech acts. Data were collected through documentation by gathering and recording utterances found in the posts. The data were analyzed by identifying and classifying utterances based on Searle’s classification of illocutionary speech acts, including assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative acts. The results show that there are 25 illocutionary speech acts consisting of 7 assertives, 4 directives, 3 commissives, 7 expressives, and 4 declaratives. Assertive and expressive acts are the most dominant types found in the posts. The findings indicate that the Instagram account @official_unila is not only used to deliver information but also serves as an institutional communication strategy to build relationships with the public and strengthen the university’s image through social media. The novelty of this research lies in analyzing illocutionary speech acts in digital communication of educational institutions through Instagram.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the digital transformation in the madrasa environment that demands adaptive infrastructure and human resource (HR) capacity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of e-learning and the readiness of information technology infrastructure and HR at the State Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) in Palopo City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies involving the madrasah principal, teachers, and students as key informants. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions according to the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The implementation of the Educational Management Information System (SIMDIK) has been integrated through the SIMPATIKA application, madrasah e-learning, and the Madrasah Digital Report (RDM); (2) The effectiveness of learning through online assignments is highly dependent on teacher skills in operating application features and making innovative instructional modifications; (3) Infrastructure constraints in the form of limited internet access and server stability are the main technical obstacles that require adaptive solutions; (4) Parental support at home is a crucial factor in determining the success of internalizing values ​​and students' academic achievement in the digital ecosystem.

Abstract

Today, the world of education faces significant challenges in the form of the strengthening of religious exclusivism and intolerance among students due to the rapid flow of unfiltered information on social media. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing the values ​​of moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, identify factors inhibiting the strengthening of national character, and formulate an effective inclusive PAI learning model at MAN Palopo City. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the researcher as the key instrument. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the Madrasah Principal, PAI teachers, and students, and curriculum documentation. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the transformation of moderation values ​​is carried out through the integration of three domains: cognitive (contextual understanding), affective (empathy development), and psychomotor (real action). The novelty of this study lies in the use of digital media as a means of disseminating moderation that transforms students from content consumers to producers of peace narratives. The research conclusion confirms that the inclusive Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning model supported by an egalitarian school culture is able to transform the value of moderation into a strong national character, thereby creating a generation that is both nationalistic and religious in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze illocutionary speech acts in the program “Mustang Playground with No Na” on the Mustang 88 FM YouTube channel based on John Searle’s speech act theory. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data were collected using observation and note-taking techniques, along with transcription of utterances between the host and No Na members in question-and-answer segments and game sessions. The data were analyzed by classifying utterances into types of illocutionary acts, namely assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. The findings show that assertive and directive speech acts are the most dominant, indicating that the interaction in the program is mainly characterized by information sharing, experiences, opinions, and the organization of the show and games. Expressive speech acts appear less frequently but function to build emotional atmosphere, while commissive acts are very limited and declarative acts are not found because the program is informal and does not involve institutional authority. This study lies in the analysis of illocutionary speech acts in a digital YouTube entertainment program that combines talk show elements and interactive games as a medium for music promotion. This study demonstrates that digital entertainment is a dynamic space for pragmatic communication

Abstract

This study aims to analyze language metafunctions in the camping-related conversations in the cartoon Adit Sopo Jarwo using Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) approach. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with documentation techniques through conversation transcripts consisting of 45 clauses from three contexts. The data were analyzed based on three language metafunctions, namely ideational, interpersonal, and textual metafunctions. The findings show that the ideational metafunction is dominated by material processes that represent the characters’ physical activities, accompanied by mental and relational processes that express attitudes and conditions of participants. In the interpersonal metafunction, declarative clauses with modality are predominantly used to build social interaction while conveying information. Meanwhile, the textual metafunction reveals a coherent and structured Theme-Rheme pattern that organizes the flow of information. The novelty of this study lies in the use of conversational data from an Indonesian local cartoon as the object of metafunction analysis, which has mostly been applied to written texts or formal discourse, thus contributing to SFL studies in popular media and informal interaction. The implication of this study is that the metafunctions of language can be applied to popular media such as cartoons to understand interaction patterns and language functions in informal communication.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of cooperation between schools and the Business and Industrial Sector (DUDI) in improving vocational high school (SMK) graduates’ competencies to meet labor market demands through the Industrial Work Practice (PKL) program. This study aims to analyze the implementation of cooperation between schools and DUDI in improving graduate competencies at SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City through PKL activities. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the Vice Principal for Public Relations, PKL supervising teachers, and students participating in the PKL program. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results show that the implementation of cooperation between the school and DUDI in the PKL program has been carried out effectively through good communication between schools and industry, the availability of supporting resources, positive implementer attitudes, and clear PKL implementation procedures. This cooperation contributes to improving students’ competencies in terms of knowledge, skills, and work attitudes.
