Abstract

The integration of culture and local wisdom in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) learning is a strategic effort to strengthen the identity of learners and increase the relevance of the curriculum to the surrounding social and cultural environment amid globalization. This research aims to analyze the models, strategies, and implementation of culture and local wisdom-based learning applied in MI as an effort to enrich the Islamic basic education curriculum with a qualitative approach through literature studies from relevant journals, articles, and educational documents for the 2015-2025 period. The analysis results show that models such as Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and ethnopedagogy have been successfully adapted contextually in MI by involving the collaboration of teachers, students, and local communities. Learning strategies emphasize the integration of local content and out-of-class project activities that strengthen learners' cultural engagement and character. The main challenges include limited teacher competence in contextual learning, lack of local cultural learning resources, and not optimal supporting curriculum policies. Therefore, systemic support is needed in the form of teacher training, preparation of locality-based teaching tools, and curriculum policies that encourage flexibility and autonomy of madrasah.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing quantitative and qualitative techniques in the decision-making process of school principals within the context of educational management. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, structured based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol to ensure transparency and accuracy in the selection and analysis of literature. A total of 45 national and international scientific articles published between 2015 and 2024 were thematically reviewed based on the type of technique used, the context of implementation (such as program planning, budget allocation, performance evaluation, and curriculum development), and the effectiveness indicators reported in each study. The analysis reveals that the integration of quantitative techniques such as the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and descriptive statistics, with qualitative techniques like Delphi and Focus Group Discussions (FGD), can lead to more targeted, adaptive, inclusive, and responsive decisions to school needs. This integration also encourages stakeholder participation and enhances policy transparency. The novelty of this study lies in the comprehensive mapping of integrative decision-making techniques in schools, which is still rarely discussed systematically in Indonesian literature.

Abstract

Private schools play a crucial role in the provision of primary and secondary education in Indonesia, particularly in areas not yet fully covered by public education services. This study aims to analyze the operational feasibility of a private junior high school (SMP) operating under the Regular School Operational Assistance (BOS) fund without tuition fees. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, an operational budget simulation was conducted, taking into account the minimum requirement standards and the commonly used teacher-student ratio assumptions. Based on the 2025 BOS unit cost of Rp1,260,000 per student, the simulation results indicate that a private school requires at least 507 students (with a teacher-student ratio of 1:25) to 583 students (with a ratio of 1:20) to cover all routine operational needs without relying on other funding sources. These findings confirm that only large-scale private schools can likely survive without tuition fees, even with high management efficiency and a lean organizational structure. Conversely, small schools scattered across Indonesia face the risk of becoming unsustainable without additional funding alternatives or policy interventions. Therefore, this study recommends an affirmative policy in the form of adjusting the BOS unit costs based on the number of students, region, and institutional status, to ensure the sustainability of equitable and fair education.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is one of the Indonesian government's strategic initiatives under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, aimed at improving the nutritional status of school-age children and strengthening the foundation of education in preparation for the Golden Generation 2045. This article critically analyzes the implementation of the MBG program, focusing on the perspectives and experiences of elementary school teachers as key actors in educational institutions. The research employs a qualitative approach through literature review. The findings indicate that the program is well-received by teachers as it is perceived to enhance student motivation, improve attendance, and support daily nutritional intake, particularly in underdeveloped areas. However, challenges exist in terms of logistics, inadequate school infrastructure, and the program's insufficient integration with teaching and the curriculum. A philosophical analysis based on rationalism indicates that this policy represents a rational decision based on the actual needs of society, although it still faces limitations in rationality during implementation (bounded rationality). From a public policy ethics perspective, the MBG program reflects the principles of justice and social equity, but requires improvements in transparency, accountability, and fiscal sustainability to avoid overburdening the national budget.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic creed and ethics teachers’ motivation on the religious behavior of seventh-grade students at MTs Muhammadiyah Waru Baki Sukoharjo. Teachers play a key role as motivators in shaping students' religious character, yet few quantitative studies have specifically assessed the relationship between teacher motivation and students’ religious conduct at the junior Islamic secondary level. This research employed a correlational quantitative approach with a sample of 63 seventh-grade students. Data were collected through questionnaires for the teacher motivation variable and documentation of students’ spiritual and social behavior scores for the religious behavior variable. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results indicate that teacher motivation is generally in the moderate category (67%), as is students' religious behavior (62%). The correlation coefficient was found to be 0.775 with a significance level of 0.000, suggesting a strong and significant relationship between teacher motivation and students’ religious behavior. The coefficient of determination was 60.06%, indicating that teacher motivation significantly contributes to students' religious character formation. The implication of this research highlights the essential role of teachers as motivators, role models, and spiritual guides in Islamic character education within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students' religious character from an early age. However, declining student religiosity remains a concern across various educational levels, including junior high schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers and the religiosity of seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Watukelir, Sukoharjo. This research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive correlational method. The sample consisted of 50 students, representing the entire seventh-grade population. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed that the role of Islamic education teachers was categorized as good (66%), and students’ religiosity was also rated as good (68%). However, the correlation analysis revealed no significant relationship between the teacher's role and student religiosity (r = -0.139; sig. = 0.336). These findings imply the need for stronger collaboration between teachers, parents, and the broader social environment to holistically nurture students’ religiosity. Islamic education teachers are also encouraged to develop more contextual and affective teaching approaches that can deeply engage students' spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

The subject of Aqidah and Akhlak in Islamic education contains several thought constructs that aim to provide religious knowledge for students. This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in the Aqidah and Akhlak subject through the implementation of the Index Card Match strategy in Class VII D at Satuan Pendidikan Mu’adalah Wustho Majlis Tafsir Al Qur’an Karanganyar in the academic year 2024-2025. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and Taggart model, which consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of two meetings. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Index Card Match strategy was able to enhance student activity and learning outcomes. In the pre-action stage, only 57% of students met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). In the first cycle, the percentage of students who met the KKM increased to 77%. Furthermore, in the second cycle, this percentage rose again to 88%. The Index Card Match strategy proved to be effective in creating a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, which in turn encouraged students to be more active and confident during the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the main factors that influence the effectiveness of decision-making in educational organizations in Indonesia, especially in the context of digital transformation and post-pandemic policy dynamics. This study also aims to develop an integrative and contextual conceptual model to support ethical and data-driven decision-making. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the PRISMA protocol. The literature reviewed was taken from the Scopus, ERIC, and Google Scholar databases with a publication year range of 2019–2024. Of the 123 initial publications, 45 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed using thematic coding techniques to identify patterns and relationships between factors. Thematic analysis resulted in four main interacting factors: (1) individual factors (adaptive competence, personal values), (2) organizational structure (bureaucracy, work culture), (3) external pressures (policies, technology), and (4) values ​​and ethics. The interaction of these four factors forms four reinforcing loops that explain 72% of the variation in the effectiveness of decision-making in educational organizations. This study offers a new conceptual model called Ethical Data-Driven Decision Making (EDDM) that integrates data-driven rationality with ethical values ​​in decision making. This model is relevant in responding to the complexity of modern education governance that demands adaptive, accountable, and integrity-based decisions.

Abstract

Social media has become an important tool for disseminating Arabic educational content, but effective content management strategies on platforms such as Instagram have rarely been studied in depth. This study aims to analyze Arabic content management on the Instagram account @santri_pedia.id using Regina Luttrell's The Circular Model of Social Media Engagement (SOME), which includes the stages of Share, Optimize, Manage, and Engage. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subject is the @santri_pedia.id account and its management team. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation of account activities, and content documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, focusing on the four main aspects of the SOME model. The results of the study indicate that @santri_pedia.id has implemented most of the SOME principles, particularly in the Share aspect through the adaptation of course materials and Engage through active interactions such as quizzes and polls. Optimization is carried out through insight analysis and community collaboration, but the use of hashtags and content scheduling still needs improvement. Content management is done manually without a structured editorial system, although the division of team roles is clear.

Abstract

In managing and leading a school, a principal must possess competence. Competence refers to the combination of knowledge, attitudes, and skills required in school leadership and management. A principal's leadership style is the approach or method used to lead, influence, and direct all school members—especially teachers—in achieving educational goals. Each principal exhibits a different leadership style, influenced by their personality, educational background, experience, and the socio-cultural environment in which they operate. This study aims to identify the leadership style of the principal of SD Negeri 10 Bandar Baru in enhancing teacher performance. A descriptive method with a qualitative approach was employed in this research. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis followed an inductive approach, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research subjects were the school principal and the teachers. The findings revealed the following: 1) The transformational leadership style is effectively applied at SD Negeri 10 Bandar Baru. 2) This leadership style has successfully contributed to improved teacher performance. 3? Supervision of teaching administration is conducted regularly, with the results documented and utilized as evaluation material within the school.
