Abstract

Language is used to convey emotions both directly and indirectly in various forms. Literary works are one form of language, while songs combine literary and artistic elements by merging lyrics with melody. Today, songs have become one of the most popular forms of art, though many people do not fully understand the meaning behind them. The song lyrics in Johnny Hallyday's album “Gang” are used as the object of research to analyze their meaning, focusing on Djajasudarma's theory of types of meaning. This research aims to analyze the types of meaning present in the song lyrics from the album “Gang” by Johnny Hallyday. A descriptive qualitative method is used in this study, with reading, note-taking, and literature study as data collection techniques. The results reveal 223 data points with 11 types of meaning. The 11 types of meaning found in the song lyrics of the album “Gang” include narrow meaning, broad meaning, cognitive meaning, connotative meaning, emotive meaning, referential meaning, construction meaning, lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, propositional meaning, and idiomatic meaning. Among these, lexical meaning is the most frequently appearing type. The findings of this study can be applied in semantics courses to help students understand how the theory of types of meaning is used in analyzing the meaning of a text, particularly in song lyrics, and also help learners expand their French vocabulary and gain exposure to French songs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in writing speech texts. The factor behind this is because students still have difficulty in understanding the structure and also difficulty in expressing ideas in stringing the words of the speech text. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of differentiated learning combined with microlearning on the ability to write speech texts of SMPN 4 Kota Sukabumi students. This study uses quantitative methods with Pre-Experimental Designs. The sample consisted of two classes selected based on certain characteristics, namely control class and experimental class. Data collection was conducted by means of tests, observation, and documentation. The data obtained was then analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class. This can be seen in the results of the essay test in the form of a posttest in making pidto text based on its structure carried out in each class. The control class obtained an average score of 74.24 with a sufficient category. While the experimental class obtained an average score of 80.30 in the good category. This identifies that product differentiated learning assisted by microlearning is effective in improving the ability to write speech text. Thus, product differentiated learning assisted by microlearning on the ability to write speech texts can be used to improve the ability to write speech texts.

Abstract

Expression speech acts are a form of a person's natural expression of what is actually felt. The speech acts of expression of Aceh tsunami survivors provide important information about how the survivors perceived the 2004 tsunami event. Expressing what they thought, believed and felt when they experienced the tsunami. Was the tsunami the apocalypse or a warning from God? One form of speech act of expression is self-centered speech act of expression, which is the speech act of expression of survivors to themselves. How are the forms and functions of self-centered expressive speech acts produced by Aceh tsunami survivors. A qualitative research method with a pragmatic approach is used to examine the data sources, namely 105 manuscripts of the experience stories of the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami collected in a book entitled Tsunami and Their Stories by the Provincial Archives of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. The data in this study are excerpts of speech acts of expression of the Aceh tsunami survivors. The data were collected through documentation study, namely reading carefully, identifying, marking, and sorting the data into specific topics. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative data analysis model, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami expressed 11 forms of self-centered expressive speech acts. The survivors expressed their emotions in accordance with social, cultural, and religious norms. In the context of a religious Acehnese society, the various speech acts of the survivors' expressions reflected a strong faith and acceptance of the disaster as part of God's will. Islam and Acehnese culture build the construction of speech acts of expression centered on the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh Mahfud MD dan Gibran Rakabuming dalam debat calon wakil presiden 2024 ditinjau dari kajian pragmatik. Fokus kajian meliputi pelanggaran maksim dalam prinsip kerja sama Grice dan strategi kesantunan yang diterapkan kedua tokoh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana. Data diperoleh dari transkrip debat di YouTube, kemudian dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi percakapan relevan yang mengandung pelanggaran maksim dan strategi kesantunan. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik simak catat melalui transkripsi video YouTube berjudul “Momen Mahfud MD Tolak Jawab Pertanyaan Gibran, Receh dan Tak ada Gunanya.” Transkripsi ini tidak hanya mencatat teks ujaran tetapi juga ekspresi wajah, gerakan tangan, dan elemen visual lain yang memengaruhi makna komunikasi. Data pada penelitian ini berfokus pada tuturan yang disampaikan oleh penutur pada Debat Calon Wakil Presiden 2024. Tuturan yang merupakan transkip data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari tayangan Debat Calon Wakil Presiden 2024 di YouTube. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelanggaran maksim relevansi dan kuantitas sering ditemukan dalam debat, baik secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja. Mahfud MD kerap menggunakan pelanggaran tersebut untuk menyampaikan sindiran secara tidak langsung melalui strategi off-record. Sebaliknya, Gibran lebih sering memanfaatkan strategi kesantunan positif dengan gaya komunikatif yang ramah dan konkret. Pola ini tidak hanya memengaruhi jalannya debat, tetapi juga memberikan gambaran tentang citra politik masing-masing pembicara di mata audiens. Kesimpulannya, teori Grice dan Brown-Levinson sangat relevan untuk menganalisis dinamika komunikasi dalam debat politik. Kata Kunci: strategi komunikasi; pelanggaran maksim; debat politik

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the genetic aspects, objective aspects and affective aspects of French Language Education study programme students, Universitas Negeri Semarang in translating comics and their readability level. The theory used to analyse the data in this study is the theory of genetic aspects, objective aspects, affective aspects from M.R. Nababan. The results showed that, first, genetic aspects, objective aspects and affective aspects are interrelated and must be mastered by students. Genetic aspect refers to the ability of students as translators to make decisions in translation. This decision-making includes the selection of words, terms, sentence construction, addition or omission of expressions and others. The objective aspect refers to the students' translated works, namely the translated comics. The comic as the result of student translation shows its readability level. The affective aspect refers to the reader's response to the translation (comics). Second, based on genetic aspects, objective aspects, and affective aspects, the level of readability of student-translated comics is dominated by the level of readability that is at the easy level. then followed by the level of readability of difficult, very difficult, and very easy.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan cerita bergambar dalam meningkatkan minat baca murid kelas V UPT SD Negeri 1 Macorawalie yang berjumlah 25 murid. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui pemberian pre-test dan post-test sebagai instrumen penelitian, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) menggunakan model one group pretest-posttest design yaitu pengumpulan data awal (pre-test), pelaksanaan perlakuan (treatment), pengumpulan data setelah perlakuan (post-test), analisis perbedaan (uji statistik), dan interpretasi hasil yang diukur untuk menguji validitas dan rehabilitas menggunakan metode uji-t dalam Microsoft Excel menggunakan rumus N-Gain. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pre-test adalah 51,28%, sedangkan setelah diberikan perlakuan selama 27 kali pertemuan, rata-rata nilai post-test meningkat menjadi 89,56%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan buku cerita bergambar memiliki pengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan minat baca murid kelas V.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe Habib Ja'far's rhetorical techniques in the CloseTheDoor Login program on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube Channel. In this research, the author used descriptive qualitative methods. The data in this research are Habib Ja'far's speech in the CloseTheDoor Login program. The data source in this research is the CloseTheDoor Login program which is broadcast on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube Channel, consisting of 20 videos, 10 videos from season 1 and 10 videos from season 2. The data collection technique in this research uses listening and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and concluding data. Research results The results of this research are 50 data on pathos and logos techniques in Habib Ja'far. The most dominant techniques used are logos techniques with 29 data and pathos techniques with 21 data.

Abstract

This research aims to describe code-switching and code-mixing in the Arabic movie Honeymoonish by Elie El Semaan by using a qualitative approach and applying analytical descriptive method. The formal object of this research is code switching and code mixing, while the material object is the Arabic movie Honeymoonish. The results and discussion in this study show that all code-switching and code-mixing in this movie belong to the external type because of the switching and insertion of English into the original language, namely Arabic. The form of code mixing found is the form of words and phrases. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that overall there are 31 data in the form of code switching and external code mixing. There are 3 data of external code switching, 15 data of external code mixing at word level, and 7 data of external code mixing at phrase level. Abstract

Munculnya homoseksual sebagai fenomena sosial transgender dianggap sebagai sesuatu hal yang tabu serta menganut perilaku yang menyimpang dalam kehidupan bermasyrakat. Akan tetapi, pada umumnya pada negara-negara maju menganggap homoseksual sebagai hak atas pilihan hidup individu yang harus dihormati. Selama ini stereotip masyarakat yang sering ditujukan kepada pelaku homoseksual adalah bahwa mereka identik dengan perilaku penyimpangan seksual yang melanggar norma dan agama. Berbeda dengan kaum gay yang ditampilkan dalam film I Pronounce You Chuck And Larry yang disutradari oleh Dennis Dugan dan dibintangi oleh dua aktor terkenal Hollywood, Adam Sandler dan Kevin James. Dalam film ini mengisahkan perjuangan kedua aktor tersebut untuk membantu komunitas kaum gay di Kota New York agar keberadaan mereka setara dengan warga normal lainnya. Oleh sebab itu, penulis ingin mengkaji letak pengenalan identitas komunitas homoseksual yang direpresentasikan dalam film tersebut menggunakan teori Queer. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan jika Chuck dan Larry sama-sama memiliki permasalahannya masing-masing sebelumnya dimana mereka mencoba untuk menjadi pasangan gay agar dapat bergabung dengan komunitas gay tersebut atas dasar solidaritas kemanusiaan di Amerika Serikat.Kata Kunci: komunitas, homoseksual, dan gay.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam novel Sang Pemimpi karya Andrea Hirata dan membuat rancangan bahan ajar berupa modul yang akan digunakan siswa kelas XII tingkat SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan Borg and Gall dengan tahap yaitu: (1) menganalisis potensi dan masalah, (2) mengumpulkan data, (3) mendesain produk, (4) memvalidasi desain kepada ahli, (5) perbaikan desain, (6) uji coba produk, (7) revisi terhadap produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Sang Pemimpi karya Andrea Hirata dapat dijadikan bahan ajar sastra yang baik karena terkandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu jujur, religi, toleransi, disiplin, kerjakeras, kreatif, mandiri, demokrasi, rasa ingintahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, cintai damai, gemar membaca, pedulilingkungan, peduli sosial, tanggungjawab. Berdasarkan uji coba yang dilakukan kepada siswa dan guru mendapatkan beberapa penilaian dari aspek indikator kelayakan meliputi isi, kebahasaan, penyajian, dan kegrafikan. Penilaian siswa dan guru memperoleh presentase 81,5% dan 87,5%. Berdasarkan penilaian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Karakter, Novel Sang Pemimpi, Bahan Ajar
