Abstract

This study aims to analyze Abraham Maslow's humanism learning theory and how it is implemented in overcoming learning disabilities in Islamic religious education. This study used a qualitative research method with a library research approach. Data sources include books, journal articles, theses, and other information related to implementing Abraham Maslow's humanism learning theory in overcoming learning difficulties in Islamic religious education learning. The results showed that Maslow's theory of humanism offers a hierarchy of needs, which has five kinds of higher-level human needs, assuming that higher needs will be fulfilled if lower needs are met. According to Abraham Maslow, five kinds of the hierarchy of needs are physiological needs, safety needs, affection needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. In overcoming learning difficulties in learning Islamic religious education, the implementation of the theory of the hierarchy of needs can be explained as follows; 1) Fulfillment of physiological needs is to ensure that the basic needs of students are met, 2) fulfillment of the need for security is not to show threatening behavior, criticize, or even judge students for their mistakes without knowing the cause, 3) fulfillment of the need for affection by showing empathy, caring, patience, fairness, and openness towards students, 4) fulfilling the need for self-esteem by giving freedom to students to express opinions and respecting students' own choices, 5) fulfilling the need for self-actualization by supporting and facilitating students in developing their potential by giving freedom to students to hone their potential abilities.   Keywords: Abraham Maslow, Humanism Learning theory, Learning Disabilities, The hierarchy of needs

Abstract

In the digital era, teachers are not only educators in schools but can also work as TikTokers in the TikTok application or cyberspace. The success of TikTokers in earning a lot of money by creating various kinds of content has motivated teachers to become content creators. However, not all teachers are wise and careful when choosing content topics. Moreover, the content created by teachers is easily accessible to many people, including their students. The diverse range of content produced by teachers on the TikTok application can have an impact on the knowledge and character development of students and society as a whole. This is because the TikTok application is currently popular among people of all age groups, including children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. Upon examining the content created by teachers, it is evident that some teachers are appropriate, careful, and wise in their content creation, while others are not. Therefore, this discussion aims to explore the phenomenon of teachers as TikTokers from the perspective of Islamic education, focusing on teachers' creative activities in cyberspace through the TikTok application. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing library research.  Keywords: Teacher, Tiktokers, Islamic Education

Character education is capital in responding to problems in the surrounding environment. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to have efficient methods and extraordinary processes. The data collected in this research was collected through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. The methodology used to analyze the data is the Maile Huberman method, which includes collecting, reducing, conveying, and drawing conclusions from the data. The results of the research show that students at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta apply religious values in religious learning, namely, planning in the form of a syllabus and lesson plans which contain learning plans such as methods, approaches, media and sources used for learning religious values at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. There are also several challenges in the world of education, the problem is that the education system is still weak, its objectives are still unclear, the curriculum is not yet aligned, or relevant, the atmosphere is not yet attractive, and so on. Therefore, the figure of a PAI teacher is important in shaping students to change attitudes or habits that are considered inappropriate. The instillation of students' religious values at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta states that the implementation of students' religious values is in the form of habituation to worship through congregational midday prayers, character education, reading the Koran before learning, especially during character education and PAI learning, other habits are about morals. There are obstacles to implementing religious values in an educational institution. The obstacle is from the students themselves, the lack of educators who can direct their students. The obstacle for teachers in introducing religious values is students whose character is difficult to change before school.   Keywords: Religious Values, PAI Learning.

Abstract

Reward, as a positive stimulus, aims to strengthen desired behavior, while punishment, as a negative response, is directed at reducing undesirable behavior. These concepts reflect the ideas of reward and sin in Islam, with the Quran and Hadith providing guidance. The Quran employs terms such as tsawab and ‘iqaab to depict reward and sin. For example, in Surah Ali Imran verse 148, Allah emphasizes the provision of recompense in the world and good rewards in the Hereafter. In the educational context, rewards are not only material but also non-material, such as praise and recognition. Hadith also offers guidance on the concept of punishment in education. For instance, it indicates that educating a child involves specific stages, with physical punishment as an option when a child reaches the age of ten. Despite the allowance for punishment, affection, and gradual learning remain prioritized. In the context of implementing the concepts of reward and punishment in the modern era, the article notes new challenges in education and changes in perspectives on physical punishment. The article also discusses forms of rewards, such as verbal and non-verbal praise, symbols, enjoyable activities, and respect. Punishment is categorized into three types: associative, logical, and normative, with considerations for balance, context, consistency, psychological awareness, and alternative learning. By referencing Islamic teachings and modern psychological concepts, this article illustrates the importance of implementing reward and punishment wisely in the educational context to achieve character formation goals without compromising the psychological well-being of individuals.   Keywords: Education, Punishment, Reward, Modern Era
