Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the concept of ta’dib in the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas and to explore its relevance to the implementation of the ISMUBA curriculum. The main focus of this research is to explain how the Islamic educational principles proposed by al-Attas can serve as a normative framework for reviewing the ISMUBA curriculum. This study adopts a qualitative approach through a literature review and descriptive analysis method. The data sources include the original works of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, official ISMUBA curriculum documents, and scholarly articles on ISMUBA curriculum implementation obtained from Google Scholar. The findings reveal that the implementation of the ISMUBA curriculum reflects the core principles of ta’dib as articulated by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, particularly in its emphasis on the integration of knowledge (‘ilm), action (‘amal), and ethics (adab) within the educational process. The ISMUBA curriculum not only targets cognitive achievement but is deliberately designed to shape students' character and spirituality through a holistic and integrative approach. Nevertheless, practical challenges such as limited teacher training and inadequate infrastructural support remain significant obstacles that need to be addressed. This research can serve as a reference for curriculum developers and Muhammadiyah education practitioners in designing instructional strategies oriented toward the cultivation of noble character.

Abstract

This study aims to explore strategic self-regulated learning in Akidah Akhlak learning to reduce academic procrastination among students. Academic procrastination is a significant problem faced by many students, which can have a negative impact on learning achievement and psychological health. Data shows that around 50% of college students experience procrastination in completing academic tasks, often caused by factors of perceived ability and emotional distress. This research involved students at Aisyiyah Unggulan Junior High School in Bantul, Yogyakarta, using qualitative methods and data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that Akidah Akhlak learning plays an important role in instilling the values of discipline and responsibility, as well as teaching effective self-management strategies. Despite the progress, some students still have difficulties in implementing those values in daily practice, which emphasizes the need for a more systematic approach in education. This study recommends better integration between self-regulated learning strategies and the Akidah Akhlak curriculum to help students manage their academic tasks and reduce the level of procrastination

Abstract

This research uses a descriptive qualitative design to explore the implementation of religious moderation values in teaching and learning activities, and their impact on students’ attitudes of tolerance at SD Negeri 1 Bakalrejo. Although all students are Muslim, internal diversity exists due to different religious orientations such as Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, and Salafi. This diversity may lead to potential conflict if not properly managed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Participants included classroom teachers, Islamic education teachers, the principal, students in grades IV to VI, and selected parents using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that religious moderation values are integrated into both formal and non-formal learning. Teachers act as facilitators using open discussions, simple analogies, and practical applications of diversity values. This strategy leads to increased mutual respect, reduced blaming behaviors, and greater curiosity among students regarding religious differences. Parents also observed positive changes in their children, who became more open and inclusive. The program's success is supported by the principal's commitment, teacher awareness, and parental involvement. These findings emphasize the importance of religious moderation in primary education to shape a tolerant, peaceful, and religiously grounded generation.

Abstract

In some cases, children with special needs are still considered a burden and a shame by society because of a culture of negative thinking that has been passed down through generations. As a result, their opportunities for socialization and education are very limited. This condition can certainly trigger social injustice and inequality behavior, which can have a negative impact on the psychological development of children with special needs. One solution to overcome these problems is to introduce inclusive education, which aims to provide equal access to education for all students, including children with special needs. With the principle of justice and respect for the form of human diversity, the relationship between inclusive education and the Qur'an is very related. This study aims to examine inclusive education from the Qur'anic perspective in building social equality. Through the method of literature review, this research attempts to analyze relevant Qur'anic verses and relate them to the concept of inclusive education. By examining the QS. Al-Hujurat verse 13 and QS. Ar-Rum verse 22, it is known that the Qur'an emphasizes the importance of knowing and respecting differences in fellow human beings. This is in line with inclusive education, which is committed to providing equal access to all students and emphasizes the importance of fair and non-discriminatory treatment. Moderate attitudes, as part of social equality, enable the creation of an inclusive educational environment where all students can learn and develop without pressure or discrimination. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the creation of practical guidelines for educators and policy makers, as well as to change people's perceptions of diversity and inclusion. Ultimately, this research aims to support the creation of a more harmonious and equitable society and build a more inclusive social structure.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems that occurred at MTs Hidayatul Islam Tanjungharjo, namely in grade VII, which include the lack of school facilities and the lack of teacher innovation in using educational media. There are still many examples of worksheets and book packages in the educational process. To overcome these problems, the purpose of this study is to describe and understand the use of spinner teaching materials based on the Wheel of Names website, which includes the mystery of impurity and thaharah procedures, in the context of Fiqh education. The approach used is the ADDIE development model, which uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and questionnaires, which include media, materials, teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that the developed spinner media is quite feasible to use. Based on media analysis, 80% of students fall into the feasible category, 86.6% fall into the very feasible category from teachers, 96.6% fall into the very feasible category from teachers, and 95% fall into the very feasible category from students. Therefore, the spinner-based educational material based on the Wheel of Names is effective and innovative in improving the fiqh learning process. This media not only inspires but also facilitates students' interactive understanding of the material. Based on validation from several sources, this material is quite beneficial in the educational process at school.

Abstract

The demands of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution require university students to master 21st century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration (4C). Islamic Religious Education (IRE) courses hold strategic potential to cultivate these skills when supported by innovative learning models. This study aims to develop and implement a Project-Based Collaborative Learning model in IRE courses to enhance students’ 21st century skills. Employing a modified Borg and Gall research and development design, the study involved five stages: needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were 30 undergraduate students at Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA). Data were collected through observation sheets, 21st century skills questionnaires, and in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that the developed model effectively improves students’ critical thinking, teamwork collaboration, creative problem-solving, and academic communication. The average score of students’ 21st century skills increased from the “moderate” to the “high” category after the model’s implementation. These results highlight that project-based collaborative learning in IRE courses not only strengthens religious competencies but also plays a significant role in preparing students to face the challenges of the 21st century global context.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Ayo Mondok Holiday Programme (Pesantren Kilat) organised by Yayasan Darul Ulum Kleben using the Alkin Model. The programme is designed to introduce elementary/middle school students to pesantren life, instill Islamic values, and increase motivation to continue their education in pesantren. This study used a mixed method to analyse the three main components of the Alkin Model: inputs, processes, and outputs. The evaluation results show that the programme succeeded in improving participants' understanding of pesantren life, instilling Islamic values, and motivating them to further their religious education. The increase in the number of participants every year shows the high attractiveness of the programme. However, there were some challenges, such as adjustments to the schedule of activities and the need for additional training for the committee. Overall, the programme was effective in achieving its objectives. Recommendations for development include improving the programme structure, enhancing committee training, and continuous evaluation to ensure the sustainability of the programme's impact.
