Abstract

This study aims to provide an analytical view of the Muhammadiyah Education Philanthropy Movement in North Kolaka. The research data was obtained through a series of in-depth interviews, observations and document studies. All data obtained was assessed in stages using the Miles and Huberman analysis models.Based on data’s found in the field of research, the Muhammadiyah educational philanthropy movement has existed in this region since 1968. The Muhammadiyah philanthropy movement in North Kolaka is a social fact that is inevitable to be appreciated. Imagine, the movement of social movements has been present in a social space that was historically geographically isolated and prone to historically political politics. In such limited conditions, in a period where the eyes of social movements are generally still "quiet" asleep and while the hands of devotion are still rigidly grasped, Muhammadiyah with all its limitations greets the hopes of rural children who are far from educational services, in order to provide formula of literacy as the solution to the thirst for education that they feel and never felt before.Muhammadiyah's ability to fulfill literacy expectations for a number of rural children during the period of education scarcity in North Kolaka which continues to this day, such a nice result of collective sincerity after all. The construction of collective excitement is channeled philanthropically by the Muhammadiyah community on the foundation of humanitarian principles that are rahmatanlilalamin, with one common goal, namely; enrich the life of a nation. These efforts in the political context can be interpreted as wordless nationalism, which is very rarely filtered through proclamation but lives in reality.Keywords: Philantrophy, Education and Muhammadiyah

Abstract

The writing of this article aims to explain the conception of leadership and the development of leadership capabilities in Islamic education institutions both formal and non-formal. Leaders are an important element in the process of managing educational institutions, for that leader in Islamic educational institutions are expected to continue to be able to develop their abilities. To develop their abilities, at least a leader must know the potential associated with the ability of the leader and know how to develop it.

Abstract

Vocabulary knowledge is a crucial component of successful language classroom instruction since all the main aspect of language teaching especially in second and foreign language classroom is depending on vocabulary mastery. In that case, the vocabulary instruction holds a crucial part that the teacher should pay a careful attention to make sure that the students learn the meanings of many words so they can communicate effectively and achieve academically. This research applied descriptive qualitative research to describe private English course instructors’ attitude toward teaching vocabulary through systematic approach and their students’ response. The researcher took notes while the classroom instruction took place and recorded the whole classroom interaction. By the end of the class, the researcher interviewed and transcribed their experience. The findings concluded that the instructors found this systematic approach was easy to implement and the students were engaged more in classroom activities. Over 75% of the students got excellent scores and they collected most of their points from the items which dealt with combining roots and affixes, identification of the meanings of those roots, and also identification of kinds of derived nouns whether it is personal (actor) or conceptual (action/ thing). Moreover, for about 85% of them have stated that the activities in the systematic approach in teaching English nouns were enjoyable.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkapkan: 1) Gambaran pendidikan karakter; 2) Bentuk strategi guru PAI dalam mengembangkan pendidikan karakter. Metode yang digunakan adalah jenis kualitatif, dimana pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap: mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan menyimpulkan. Untuk menguji validitas data dilakukan uji  kreadibilitas, transferabilitas, dependebilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan temuan: (1) gambaran dan bentuk pendidikan karakter di SMPN 5 Kendari dapat dilihat dari nilai yang dikembangkan yaitu: nilai religius, disiplin, tanggungjawab, jujur, cinta lingkungan, gemar membaca, dan kreatif. (2) strategi yang dilakukan guru PAI dalam mengembangkan pendidikan karakter yaitu: strategi tauladan, penegakkan kedisiplinan, pembiasaan, dan integritas dan internalisasi. Dari hasil peneitian, disimpulkan bahwa strategi yang dilakukan guru PAI dalam membentuk karakter yakni melalui pengintegrasian, melalui kegiatan sehari-hari yang meliputi: pemberian keteladanan, pembiasaan, teguran, nasehat, dan pengkondisian lingkungan yang menunjang pendidikan karakter. Dan yang terakhir lewat pengintegrasian yang di programkan yang berupa: kegiatan tahfidz Qur’an, pidato, dan sholat zhuhur serta ashar berjamaah. Implikasi kajian ini adalah pentingnya setiap guru PAI menjadi actor dalam pendidikan karakter di sekolah, diwujudkan dalam strategi dan program yang sistematis.Kata Kunci: Strategi Guru PAI, Pendidikan Karakter

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh kondisi sosial ekonomi terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di SMAN 1 Abuki. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui teknik korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh kondisi ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar siswa adalah positif dan signifikan. Kesimpulan ini mengandung makna bahwa kondisi ekonomi orang tua yang baik memiliki arah positif dan nyata dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: Kondisi Sosial Ekonoomi, Motivasi Belajar AbstractThis article aims to examine the effect of socio-economic conditions on student motivation at SMAN 1 Abuki. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach through correlational techniques. The results showed that the effect of the economic conditions of parents on student motivation is positive and significant. Abstract

Proses pembelajaran IPA khususnya biologi saat ini masih banyak berfokus pada pembelajaran konsep dan hafalan yang tidak memaksimalkan penggunaan dan pengembangan keterampilan proses dan sikap ilmiah siswa seperti menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mengkreasikan suatu konsep, sehingga materi tidak dapat dipahami secara tuntas siswa cenderung hanya ingin mengetahui. Olehnya itu dibutuhkan suatu strategi yang tepat untuk dapat memaksimalkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan strategi peta konsep terbimbing terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa di kelas X MAN IC Kendari pada materi monera. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan non randomized posttest control grup design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pemahaman konsep siswa, serta analisis peta konsep. Kelas kontrol adalah kelas yang menggunakan strategi konvensional (peta konsep biasa). Kelas eksperimen adalah kelas yang menggunakan strategi peta konsep terbimbing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara inferensial tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara strategi peta konsep terbimbing dan strategi konvensional dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Namun secara deskriptif strategi peta konsep terbimbing efektif dibanding strategi konvensional dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi monera, sehingga peta konsep terbimbing dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang mampu memberikan efektivitas terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa, khususnya pada materi monera.Kata Kunci: Strategi Peta Konsep Terbimbing, Pemahaman Konsep Monera

Abstract

This article provides an overview of several aspects related to websites, which include: first, understanding the website; second, the criteria for a good and quality website; third; the benefits of the website for educational institutions; fourth, a web-based school information system; fifth, school web development in learning activities; and sixth, the basic principles of school web management. This study was conducted using the library method, where the author collects various materials such as books and scientific articles, which are further elaborated to obtain a broader and deeper understanding of the use of websites in school management. The results of the study show that: first, it is a very complex device because it combines various domains through the internet network, resulting in complex data in the form of text, images, video, audio, and animation. Second, a good school website must meet the following criteria: easy, navigation structure, graphic design, content, compatible, fast, functional, accessible to everyone, and interactive. Third, the school website is an important tool in school management, not only internally but also externally. Fourth, the impact of IT advances has reached various areas of life, so schools should have web-based information systems. Fifth, the school web must be developed in the school's main business domain, namely education and learning. Sixth, to ensure the occurrence of web-based school management, the basic principles of school web management must be carried out properly. Keywords: School Management, ICT, Website, Quality

Abstract

This article aims to provide a conceptual overview of the principal's strategy in partnership development. The aspects studied are: 1) various dimensions of strategy; 2) The roles of school principals; and 3) Partnership development. The method used is a literature review, where the authors synthesize and develop various concepts and findings related to the principal's strategy in developing partnerships. The results of the study show that: first, strategy is a prerequisite in carrying out leadership roles. A reliable principal will be seen in his ability to read environmental conditions, internal and external, to formulate a grand design for school development. The concrete form is the formulation of the school's vision, mission, goals, and programs. Second, the roles of principals are increasingly complex in the midst of very fast environmental changes, as well as very tight competition between schools. Not only managerial roles, more than that the principal must appear as a leader who makes a difference. Third, partnership development is a deeper meaning of school quality. That schools do not exist in an empty space, but are directly connected to the community and the world of work as users of educational services. This article suggests the importance of increasing knowledge about strategy for school principals, followed up with technical skills in the strategy stages. Keywords: Strategy, School Management, Partnership, Quality

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan memberikan gambaran tentang peran-peran kepemimpinan dalam peningkatan kinerja lembaga pendidikan. Pandangan ini didasarkan pada paradigm kepemimpinan transformasional yang menegaskan bahwa kejayaan ataupun kemunduran suatu organisasi sangat ditentukan oleh kepemimpinan. Karenannya dibutuhkan penerapan fungsi-fungsi kepemimpinan dalam rangka kemajuan suatu organisasi. Misi ini juga berlaku pada lembaga pendidikan yang secara terbuka sedang mengalami kondisi yang penuh persaingan. Untuk dapat memenangkan persaingan, maka kinerja perlu ditingkatkan, yang ditopang oleh kepemimpinan yang relevan. Artikel ini menemukan penerapan fungsi-fungsi kepemimpinan yang tepat di Ummushabri, yang dalam kajian ini dibatasi pada tingkat MI. Terlihat jelas bahwa kinerja unggul dari warga sekolah merupakan hasil dari kepemimpinan yang baik. Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan, Kinerja, KualitasAbstractThis article aims to provide an overview of leadership roles in improving the performance of educational institutions. This view is based on the transformational leadership paradigm which emphasizes that the success or decline of an organization is largely determined by leadership. Therefore, it is necessary to apply leadership functions in the context of the progress of an organization. This mission also applies to educational institutions that are openly experiencing competitive conditions. To be able to win the competition, performance needs to be improved, which is supported by relevant leadership. This article finds the proper implementation of leadership functions in Ummushabri, which in this study is limited to the MI level. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan kognitif siswa MAN pada pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) materi membiasakan akhlak terpuji. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 40 siswa kelas XI dari MAN 3 Sleman. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan soal pilihan ganda dengan empat option untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif level C1-C3 dan soal uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif level C4. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif berdasarkan persentase kemampuan kognitif siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase kemampuan kognitif siswa pada kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 52,5%, kategori tinggi sebesar 40%, dan kategori sedang sebesar 7,5 %. Kemampuan kognitif siswa berupa kemampuan mengingat (C1) sebesar 95%, kemampuan memahami (C2) sebesar 82,5%, kemampuan mengaplikasikan (C3) sebesar 10%, dan kemampuan menganalisis (C4) sebesar 40%. Kemampuan kognitif level C3 dan C4 masih sangat rendah dan membutuhkan bimbingan serta inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Pelatihan berpikir kritis perlu diterapkan agar kemampuan kognitif siswa mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan kemampuan kognitif tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam mengambil keputusan dan menentukan sikap di kehidupannya.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan kognitif, Membiasakan akhlak terpuji
