Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing whether the application of the problem-based learning model can improve students' digital literacy skills. Another purpose of this study is to describe the success rate of the problem-based learning model in order to improve digital literacy skills. The experimental research design used in this study is in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. In this study, there will be two groups that are not randomly selected. Both were then given a pretest to find out the initial state and differences between the experimental group and the control group. A good pretest result is when the values of the experimental group in the control group do not differ significantly. The sample was 36 students in the experimental group and 36 students in the control group. Overall, while PBL shows potential to improve digital literacy, several key factors may limit the rate of such improvement. These factors include the relevance and complexity of the problem used, intrinsic motivation and student engagement, access to and quality of digital resources, and advanced digital literacy skills.

Abstract

In 2023, vocational high schools (VHS) accounted for the largest amount of unemployment above 9.2%. Unemployment occurs because the quality of education is still low. Improving the quality of vocational education that is integrated with industry is very important in supporting national economic development and reducing unemployment. By integrating industry needs in the education financing model, it is expected to create a learning environment/climate that is in accordance with industry standards and needs. The purpose of this research is to design an education financing management model that is integrated with industry needs. The design of a well-implemented industry-integrated SMK financing model is expected to improve the quality of education so as to reduce the unemployment rate of SMK graduates. The research design used adopted the research and development (R&D) design of Richey and Klein by taking 3 stages, namely needs analysis, model design and validation. The research was conducted at SMK N 1 Trucuk Klaten and SMK Muhammadiyah Pakem with the research subjects being the principal, treasurer, automotive engineering vocational teachers and industry practitioners. Data collection techniques used non-test data with interview instruments through FGD activities and validation/feasibility questionnaires for experts. Data analysis used quantitative analysis and formulated the results with categorization. The results concluded that the industry-based education financing model (MPTI) has very good feasibility with an average score of 3.71 on a scale of 4. This model is considered very appropriate to the needs, effective, able to collaborate with industry, sustainable, provides significant benefits, and is easy to use.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an industry-based Merdeka curriculum management model (MKBI) to foster entrepreneurial interest among vocational school students, while addressing the challenges of low graduate employability and limited curriculum integration with industry needs. The research method employs the Research and Development (R&D) model by Richey and Klein, comprising three main stages: (1) needs analysis through three Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving vocational high school teachers, industry practitioners, and the Education Department; (2) conceptual design of the MKBI model incorporating four core competencies (technical, marketing, financial, and human relations) along with supporting infrastructure and technology; and (3) model validation by curriculum experts and industry practitioners using a scale-based feasibility questionnaire. The research results indicate that, conceptually, 100% of experts stated that the model has a strong theoretical foundation, is relevant to industry and education needs, and can enhance students' interest in entrepreneurship. In terms of benefits, 100% of experts assessed that the model makes a real contribution to improving entrepreneurial understanding and skills and can be applied in various vocational school departments. In terms of practical feasibility, 67% of experts assessed that the implementation guidelines are clear, while 33% assessed that improvements are needed to facilitate implementation in schools with limited resources. The implications of this research are the need for continuous adaptation to technological developments and industry needs, strengthening school-industry partnerships, and providing measurable evaluation systems such as indicators of the number of students who start businesses after graduation or participate in entrepreneurship projects during their studies. The MKBI model developed has the potential to serve as a national benchmark for enhancing the relevance of vocational education, reducing unemployment among SMK graduates, and cultivating a competent and entrepreneurial-ready younger generation.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country and is a developing country and not all of its territory has easy roads to traverse, and some parts of its territory are still swamps. Hovercraft are one solution to reach areas that are difficult to pass by this type of vehicle. In this research, before carrying out the hovercraft fabrication process, design testing was carried out in this research. Design testing was carried out using the Finite Element Method (FEM). This test aims to determine whether the hovercraft design that will be fabricated will have sufficient strength in terms of construction. On the construction side, it is hoped that the hovercraft will have a long life cycle (fatigue testing) and good material strength. Design testing was carried out with a load of 250 kg (passenger); 500 kg (machine) and type I or H aluminum construction for better force and stress propagation. The results of this research include that the hovercraft construction design is suitable for use with a 250 kg passenger load and engine load. This is shown in the discussion which includes details from von Mises stress which is lower than the yield strength of aluminum, total deformation, to damage and life cycle fatigue.
