Abstract

The study of Islamic law has great significance to continue to be studied in depth because its discussion is always a topic of debate. In addition, Islamic law needs to develop along with the changing times. This article aims to understand three main aspects: first, an overview of an-Naim's thoughts regarding Islamic law (sharia); second, the methodological approach used to reformulate sharia; and third, the vision of inclusive Islamic law in the future, which is able to adapt to the social dynamics of society. This study uses a literature study method by analyzing texts from various books and articles. Data are analyzed through the stages of selection, classification, analysis, and verification. The results of the study show that: (1) According to an-Naim, sharia does not only focus on the texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah, but must be reinterpreted according to the context and reality of the present. (2) An-Naim uses the naskh-mansukh method, namely by postponing the application of verses that are considered less relevant without permanently deleting them. (3) An-Naim's idea of ​​inclusive Islamic law emphasizes the importance of equality for all human beings, including in religious, ethnic, and racial aspects, and involves reforms in criminal law, human rights, and international relations. In conclusion, Islamic law can be universally accepted as a model that reflects progress and harmony with human life, thus providing significant benefits, both in the Islamic world and globally. Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of kultum (Seven Minute Lecture) as a means of developing public speaking skills as well as English and Arabic foreign language skills for students at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Kultum not only serves as a medium for delivering religious messages, but also as a platform to train studentsin expressing their opinions and ideas in front of an audience. Through this activity, students are expected to increase self-confidence, mastery of material, and communication skills that are essential in social interaction. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview and documentation methods to collect data from students who have implemented the cultum. The results showed that the kultum contributed significantly to reducing nervousness and improving public speaking ability, which are important skills in daily life and career development. Thus, cultum becomes an effective tool in building students' soft skills, supporting individual successin interacting with society. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dynamics of the Islamic community in North Minahasa, particularly in building and maintaining identity in a multicultural society. Using a qualitative approach and the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, this study explores the process of externalization, objectivation, and internalization in the formation of Islamic identity. The focus of the study lies in the interaction between Islamic values ​​and local Minahasa culture, such as mapalus and masawang, as well as the harmonious relationship between Muslims and Christians as the majority.  The results of the study show that the Muslim community in North Minahasa has succeeded in maintaining their identity through the integration of religious values ​​with local culture without losing the essence of Islamic teachings. The mosque becomes the main center in the process of objectification of Islamic values, while interfaith social interaction encourages the creation of mutually respectful relationships. On the other hand, the internalization of religious values ​​in the daily lives of Muslims strengthens community solidarity and their religious identity. The conclusion of this study is that Islamic identity in North Minahasa is not only formed by religious doctrine, but also through adaptation to local social and cultural contexts. This process reflects harmony and tolerance in the life of a multicultural society. This study provides important insights for the study of religious identity in minority communities, as well as encouraging the strengthening of interfaith harmony in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pre-marital education values in the book ‘Uqudullujain by Sheikh Muhammad bin Umar Nawawi al-Bantani al-Jawi, and its relevance to contemporary marriage issues. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach and descriptive analysis. The primary data source is the book ‘Uqudullujain, while secondary data is obtained from related books, journals, and articles. Data collection is carried out through document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that the pre-marital education in ‘Uqudullujain provides a solid foundation for building a healthy marriage, and this understanding is relevant in addressing contemporary marriage problems, such as the phenomena of "marriage is scary", child-free lifestyles, patriarchal culture, career women and the increasing cases of domestic violence (DV). The results of the study are as follows: a) the values of pre-marital education in ‘Uqudullujain related to preparation for marriage and awareness of fulfilling the rights and obligations of husband and wife, b) the relevance of these pre-marital education values in resolving contemporary marriage issues, and c) the samawa family model as a solution to build resilience in family life. Abstract

There is a tradition in Lampung that is based on the Qur’an and reflects the life principlesof the Lampung ethnic group, which are still firmly upheld to this day. This tradition existsin Anak Tuha Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency, and is better known as piil pesenggiri.The piil pesenggiri tradition continues to exist and is preserved continuously as a guidingprinciple in the community's way of life. This study examines the practice of the livingQur’an among the people of Anak Tuha Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency. Themethod used in this research is qualitative, including both library and field research, andemploys a phenomenological approach. To gather data, the researcher used variousinstruments such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the Lampung people already had their own philosophy—piil, meaning self-respect or dignity—even before the arrival of Islam. After Islam came, it evolved into piil pesenggiri, which includes elements such as bejuluk beadek (having a title and manners), nemui nyimah (hospitality), nengah nyappur (social interaction), and sakai sambayan (mutual cooperation). Piil pesenggiri is, in fact, relevant to the teachings of the Qur’an. However, until now, it has mostly been seen merely as a cultural tradition related to Islam, without being directly linked to specific verses of the Qur’an that convey the same values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the principles of professionalism in work management within Islam through a tafsīr maudhū‘ī (thematic exegesis) approach to relevant Qur’anic verses, and to analyze their relevance to management and labor practices at Oriental Circus Indonesia (OCI), which operates within Taman Safari Indonesia. The research adopts a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, based on the ongoing case study of OCI. The findings indicate that these values represent fundamental principles of Islamic work professionalism, which demand the establishment of a just and humane working system. The case of OCI reveals indications of violations of these principles, particularly in aspects such as wage justice, working conditions, and worker protection, highlighting the need to strengthen Islamic ethical values in labor practices. This study recommends the integration of Qur’anic values and decent work policies from international labor organizations into employment policies as a normative and ethical framework to guide the development of a professional and equitable work system, especially in addressing the challenges of the modern labor era.

Abstract

Meskipun Indonesia merupakan negara dengan mayoritas penduduk Muslim, perilaku menyimpang seperti perzinaan masih menjadi tantangan serius yang berdampak negatif secara individu maupun sosial. Zina merupakan salah satu dosa besar dalam Islam yang pelakunya dikenakan sanksi berat, seperti rajam bagi yang sudah menikah (muhshan) dan hukuman cambuk serta pengasingan sosial bagi yang belum menikah (ghairu muhshan). Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research) dan menggunakan pendekatan Ulumul Tafsir untuk menelaah kandungan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an tentang zina berdasarkan pandangan para mufasir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Islam tidak hanya melarang zina secara eksplisit, tetapi juga mencegah segala hal yang dapat menjadi jalan menuju perbuatan tersebut. Dalam konteks pencegahan, pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam membentuk kesadaran moral dan spiritual individu. Pendidikan agama yang komprehensif sejak usia dini dapat menanamkan nilai-nilai kesucian diri, akhlak mulia, dan pengendalian diri yang kuat. Oleh karena itu, lembaga pendidikan, baik formal maupun nonformal, harus berperan aktif dalam memberikan pemahaman yang benar tentang bahaya zina serta menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman sebagai langkah preventif dalam membentengi generasi muda dari perilaku menyimpang tersebut.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has given birth to a new phenomenon in human sexual behavior, one of which is cybersexual, namely sexual activity based on the virtual world through text, images, sound, or video. This phenomenon is now starting to penetrate Generation Alpha, a young age group that is very familiar with the digital world from an early age. The increasing involvement of Generation Alpha in virtual sexual activities raises concerns about their moral, spiritual, and social future. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of cybersexuality from the perspective of the Qur'an, by emphasizing moral values ​​and relevant sharia commands in fortifying deviant sexual behavior in the digital era. This research approach is qualitative with a library research method that focuses on normative interpretations of the verses of the Qur'an, especially those related to the concept of al-'iffah (maintaining honor), ghadhdh al-bashar (lowering the gaze), and the prohibition of approaching zina. Data were collected from thematic interpretations, Islamic scientific literature, and contemporary studies on the online behavior of the younger generation. The results of the study indicate that Qur'anic values ​​have high relevance in counteracting the negative impacts of cybersexuality by forming spiritual, moral, and digital ethical awareness. In addition, the Qur'an encourages comprehensive protection of the younger generation through a preventive approach based on education and a healthy social environment. The contribution of this study lies in strengthening the role of the Qur'an as a source of transhistorical values ​​that are able to answer the challenges of the times, including the dynamics of sexual behavior in the digital space. This study also encourages the need for the formation of a contextual Qur'anic-based education curriculum for Generation Alpha, as well as opening up space for further empirical studies that are more applicable in preventing cybersexuality among Muslim youth.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the form of technology integration in the learning processat the Salaf Ali Ba'alawi Islamic boarding school, Jember Regency and analyze the opportunities and challenges. The logical reason for choosing a research focus is the currentfact that in the midst of the development of application-based digitalization of education,teachers must be better prepared. in transferring knowledge to students. This empiricalresearch uses a qualitative approach, data is collected using interview, observation anddocumentation techniques. Data validity was tested using triangulation, peer debriefing andmember checking. Data analysis stages include: data reduction and presentation, as well asdrawing conclusions. The results show that the integration of technology in the learningprocess at the Ali Ba'alawi Salaf Islamic Boarding School has so far been limited to Salaf bookstudy activities taught by KH. Sholahuddin Munshif, for other learning processes, both madrasah and Islamic boarding school activities, still does not use any technology. Even though it is still limited, the technology integration that is carried out has a significant impacton the effectiveness of learning at the Ali Ba'alawi Islamic Boarding School. From the perspective of constructivist theory, the technology integration used helps students to conductdeeper exploration when accessing study material stored on various social media andchannels. Abstract

The phenomenon of hijrah among Indonesian celebrities has attracted public and media attention. This research aims to analyse the phenomenon with Rational Choice theory and Social Construction theory. This research methodology uses a descriptive qualitativeapproach. Research informants include celebrities who have made hijrah, religious experts, and social observers. Data were collected through observation and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques to identify key themes related to the motivation and impact of hijrah. The results showed that celebrities' hijrah decisions were influenced by rational considerations, such as the search for a deeper meaning of life, social pressure, and the desire to change public image. In addition, the hijrah process is also influenced by social construction formed through interaction with religiouscommunities and support from followers on social media. This study concludes that the celebrity hijrah phenomenon is the result of a combination of rational choice and social construction. The contribution of this research is to provide a new perspective inunderstanding social and religious dynamics among celebrities. Research recommendations include the need for further studies on the role of social media in the hijrah process and its impact on fans.
