Abstract

This research-based paper specifically aims to develop, describe and analyze and implement student assessment design products at the secondary school level which are integrated with digital education technology for learning biology with assessment for learning (AFL) format. In this study, the developed AFL design product was resulted in a valid and steady conclusion and became an alternative solution that could be implemented in the post-covid-19 pandemic for high school biology learning. This development research employs the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation stages. The chosen subjects of assessing the AFL design and instruments are lecturers of educational evaluation subject and three expert lecturers consist of one evaluation expert, one media expert, and one biological content expert. Such formulated review and input from expert lecturers serve as a validation of the AFL design instruments and products. In this research-based paper, the researchers describe how the process of making and assessing the feasibility of AFL for high schools biology learning and its implementation when submitted to the Subject Teacher Forum (STF) of Natural Sciences Subject in Subrayon 5 Gunung Halu, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency. Based on the findings of research and development of AFL biology learning in high schools in forms of assessments among the media experts, material experts, teacher evaluation and experts responses, as well as the results of implementation observations in the field, it can be concluded that AFL Biology learning with Educandy application is declared “feasible and effective” to be utilized in the learning process for high schools. The implication of such formulated research is to provide an alternative integrative learning approach for biology learning through the use of AFL Educandy for post-covid-19 pandemic learning. Keywords: assessment for learning, educandy, high schools biology learning

Abstract

Education moves forward together with technology. In recent years, application of modern technology known as Augmented Reality (AR) has significantly shifted the paradigm of learning process in education, including Chemistry education. Many researchers have explored the potential of AR in education. Unfortunately, literatures on its benefits for leaners in Chemistry education are limited and inaccessible. This research-based paper manifests underlying usefulness of AR in teaching and learning process of chemistry education in terms of (i) Mastering chemistry content and (ii) motivation, interest and attitude. The researchers aspired that with the contents of this paper, other researchers and interested parties could use them for their literature and as incentive to improve current available AR software or develop further advance technology program of AR in chemistry. Keywords: augmented reality, chemistry, education, technology, advantages.

Abstract

The use of interactive multimedia as learning media is necessary to assist the learning process. The use of Autoplay in developing learning media enables the teachers to produce very good media in facilitating students' needs in learning excretory system material. The addition of an Engklek  game is also very helpful in developing cognitive levels and activating students' motor skills. The method used in the use of Autoplay to develop learning media refers to the model developed by Lee and Owens 2004, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. This development research stage is only carried out until the Analysis, Design, Development stage, because this research is only limited to developing learning media. After arriving at the development stage, the product is packaged in the form of a Compact Disk (CD) and submitted to the excretory system learning material expert and learning media expert to assess the feasibility of the product being developed, then tested on a small scale by expert practitioners and students to assess the quality of the product learning. The results of the validation of the material experts demonstrated the percentage of eligibility 95.71% with very good criteria and the results of the validation of the media experts disclosed the percentage of eligibility 97.14% with very good criteria. Supported by the results of the readability test of 10 student respondents and 1 practitioner who gave criticism and suggestions that the use of Autoplay to develop excretory system learning media with the evaluation of the designed Engklek  game was very good and feasible to use. Keywords: autoplay, media development, excretory system, engklek traditional game.

Abstract

Chemistry learning focuses on understanding concepts, thus students who get difficulty understanding the concepts of chemistry learning will experience conceptual mistakes, especially abstract concepts such as chemical bonds. Students' difficulty understanding the material of chemical bonds can occur due to misconceptions. The misconceptions will hinder the construction and assimilation of new knowledge in students and thus students will experience difficulties in learning chemistry. To address such issue, an instrument for detecting misconceptions in chemistry is necessary to find out the misconceptions that occur among learners. The identification of such emerging misconceptions in understanding the subject matter can be analyzed using a three-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test. The present study was carried out to determine the presence or absence, and the percentage of misconceptions regarding chemical bonding material using the Three Tier Test diagnostic test. Conducted through purposive sampling technique, this research-based paper is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research instrument uses a three-tier test objective test. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively for each student's response by using students' level of understanding list. In general, the results obtained in this line of research showed that; (1) Indicator 1, student misconceptions were 91.17% (2) Indicator 2, student misconceptions were 64.14%, (3) Indicator 3, student misconceptions were 67.64%, (4) Indicator 4, student misconceptions were 76.47%. (5) Indicator 5, students' misconceptions were 63.23%. By way of conclusion, the present project argues that there were misconceptions that occured in students of SMA Negeri 1 Class X Teluk Kuantan on the chemical bonding material, with the percentage 72.53% students experiencing misconceptions, 14, 98% students do not understand the concept, and the rest 12.48% students understand the concept of chemical bonding. Keywords: misconception, diagnostic test, three tier test

Abstract

The idea of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is very developed lately. However, many people do not understand what, why and how ESD is. Therefore, the current article discusses obvious issue as an area for attention and related to ESD, why ESD should be, and how ESD is implemented in education, especially in science education, as well as efforts that can be made to make the implementation of ESD successful. This research is included in the parameters of the content analysis theme. This research-based paper uses literature review from various journals, articles and other text books. ESD is a new approach in the world of education. ESD consists of three dimensions, economic, social and environmental. ESD is incredibly important to apply in science learning for the success of the SDGs. There are several notable elements in the implementation of ESD in science in Indonesia, namely the government (P4TK IPA), Professional Associations such as the Indonesian Science Educators Association, Science Subject Teachers' Conferences, and Communities in the midst of society. Keywords: education for sustainable development (ESD), sustainable development goals (SDGs)
