Abstract

This article aims to analyze the implementation of learning management in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) based on a systems approach within the context of digital-era education. The systems approach is considered relevant as it conceptualizes learning as an integrated process encompassing planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation to achieve holistic Islamic educational goals. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review, drawing on academic books, national and international journal articles, and relevant scholarly documents related to PAI learning management. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify key patterns, concepts, and principles underlying the application of the systems approach in PAI learning. The findings indicate that systems-based PAI learning management enhances the integration of spiritual objectives, knowledge acquisition, character development, and the utilization of educational technology. However, its implementation remains challenged by limited digital pedagogical competencies among educators and insufficient institutional policy support. These findings suggest that the systems approach has strong potential to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of PAI learning, provided it is supported by strategic planning, teacher capacity building, and adaptive educational policies

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of classical management theories proposed by Robert Owen and Charles Babbage in the educational management of Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Rejang Lebong and their impact on management effectiveness and educational quality. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that classical management principles are implemented through systematic planning, structured division of labor, strengthened supervision, and enhanced motivation and welfare of teachers and staff. The application of efficiency and control principles contributes to improved discipline, professionalism, educational service quality, and graduate outcomes. Major challenges include limited funding, resistance to change, a lack of professional administrative personnel, and inadequate infrastructure, which are addressed through human resource development, technology utilization, stakeholder partnerships, and participatory leadership. The novelty of this study lies in the integrative application of Owen’s and Babbage’s classical management concepts within the contemporary Islamic educational context, an area that has received limited empirical attention. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of Islamic educational management by offering a contextualized model of classical management theory adaptation. Practically, the findings provide implications for madrasah administrators in designing effective, efficient, and sustainable educational management practices aligned with modern educational demands

Abstract

Increasing competition among Islamic secondary education institutions requires madrasah to implement effective and sustainable educational promotion strategies. This study aims to analyze educational promotion strategies at MAS Nahdatul Islam Mandau through the integration of the 7P service marketing mix and digital promotion approaches. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research was conducted at MAS Nahdatul Islam Mandau, Bengkalis Regency, Riau. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the head of the madrasah, the student admission committee, and parents of prospective students. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that educational promotion strategies were implemented through four main promotional forms: personal selling, mass selling, sales promotion, and word of mouth. Personal selling, particularly through Road to School activities, emerged as the most effective strategy in building trust and increasing enrollment interest. Digital promotion via social media functioned as a supporting tool to enhance institutional visibility, although its impact remained limited due to contextual characteristics of rural communities. Supporting factors included a strategic location, affordable tuition fees, religious-based programs, and social media utilization, while inhibiting factors encompassed limited facilities, intense competition, and public perceptions regarding private education costs. This study contributes to Islamic education marketing literature by highlighting the importance of integrating the 7P marketing mix with relational and context-sensitive promotion strategies. Practically, the findings offer strategic insights for madrasah administrators in designing adaptive and community-oriented promotion models in competitive educational environments

Abstract

Inclusive education is a fundamental right of every individual and has become a global and national agenda. In Indonesia, although a legal framework has been established, the implementation of inclusive education still faces significant challenges, particularly in relation to regulations, infrastructure, and human resources. This study aims to analyze the readiness of the education system in Indonesia in implementing inclusive education through a qualitative literature review approach. Data were collected from various scientific literature, government policies, and related reports. Data analysis was conducted through three main stages, namely information extraction from selected sources, data classification into key themes, and critical synthesis to formulate comprehensive conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the main obstacles include the misalignment of central and regional regulations, lack of infrastructure accessibility, limited teacher competence, and social stigma. Synergy between policy, infrastructure investment, human resource capacity building, and school culture change is needed to achieve optimal inclusive education. Research recommendations include regulatory harmonization, adequate budget allocation, ongoing teacher training, and public awareness campaigns

Abstract

This study aims to describe the organizational management transformation through the integration of human resource development and performance assessment to enhance school effectiveness at SMP Islam Al-Ummah Jombang. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and managerial document analysis. The findings reveal that the transformation occurred across four key dimensions: data-driven work systems, decentralized organizational structure, strengthened collaborative work culture, and management digitalization. The integration of HR development and performance assessment improved the accuracy of teacher coaching, enhanced academic supervision, and fostered a continuous reflective culture. The transformation positively impacted managerial effectiveness, instructional quality, and organizational cohesion. Despite these improvements, several challenges emerged, including uneven teacher data literacy, the need for stronger cross-unit coordination, and limited digital infrastructure. These findings highlight the importance of digital competence enhancement, coordinated SOPs, and adequate technological support to sustain school management transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of scope and sequence in the planning and implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MTsN Gresik. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study reveal three main patterns: systematic learning planning based on CP–TP–ATP, adaptive implementation to classroom dynamics and differences in student abilities, and increased learning effectiveness through material sequencing and the application of diagnostic assessments. The theoretical contribution of this study confirms that scope and sequence is not rigid, but rather a dynamic framework that can be adapted to the needs of students and the context of the madrasah. Practically, this research provides guidelines for PAI teachers in developing a more relevant, structured, and responsive sequence of material. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of scope and sequence with differentiated learning, the flexibility of curriculum implementation in madrasahs that have many incidental activities, and the pattern of sequence adaptation in the subject of Islamic Cultural History

Abstract

Teacher certification in Indonesia is intended to enhance teachers’ professional competence, yet empirical studies show inconsistent effects on instructional quality, particularly in Islamic school contexts. This study explores how certification is perceived and enacted in professional practice at MAN 2 Batam through a qualitative case study. Five participants were involved, including three certified teachers and two vice principals. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, FGDs, and document reviews, and analyzed using NVivo 15 through open and axial coding supported by thematic mapping via query and matrix functions. The findings reveal that certification fosters pedagogical reflection, strengthens administrative compliance, and expands access to professional development. However, its influence on teaching quality is not automatic and depends on institutional systems and academic supervision. The study concludes that certification should be integrated with sustained mentoring and professional learning communities to generate meaningful improvements in teaching practice and student learning.
