Abstract

Islamic education is significant in confronting the growing threats of religious radicalism and extremism that jeopardize global stability. This systematic study aims to determine how religious moderation is practiced within Islamic education. Following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) guidelines, this research systematically explores two significant databases, Google Scholar and Scopus. The initial search is centred on titles and keywords associated with applying religious moderation within the scope of Islamic education, spanning 2019 to 2023. Approximately 1,060 pertinent publications have been pinpointed in the preliminary search results. After implementing a set of criteria for selection, 16 articles have been chosen for further scrutiny. The research findings revealed that the execution of religious moderation manifests through diverse channels, such as school initiatives, the introduction of moderation values to newcomers, integration into the curriculum, the subtler facets of the curriculum, ceremonial and national events, and the utilization of lecture-style sessions and interactive QA approaches. Simultaneously, reinforcing religious moderation is actualized through the cultivation of advanced critical thinking, the moulding of moderate character, the mitigation of radicalism, the integration of moderation principles into real-world scenarios, the pivotal roles of educators and educational institutions, and the adoption of successful models

Abstract

This research contains an in-depth study of internalizing values in the Al-Qur'an through social media, with a focused analysis of the da'wah content presented via the Instagram account @thegangoffur. Specifically, this research aims to classify the delivery of da'wah messages based on the logical design of the message and analyze the formulation of the internalization of the values contained. This research uses qualitative research methods with content analysis methods. Data collection through literature study on data sources in the form of uploading preaching content on the Instagram account @thegangoffur. Data analysis techniques use the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models. The theory used is message logic design by Barbara O'Keefe, divided into three studies: expressive, conventional, and rhetorical. The research results show that: First, expressive logic is designed with an informal and emotional language style, such as exclamation marks and expressions that reflect decisions and beliefs about patience and time management; Second, conventional logic is designed with a semi-formal language style and excerpts from Qur'anic verses. The da'wah message contained includes understanding the nature of Allah as All-Seeing. Third, rhetorical logic uses interrogative sentences and persuasive sentences that reflect readers on their beliefs about the concept of tawakkal. The urgency of this research is because it shows the potential of social media as an effective means of spreading Islamic values and bringing the teachings of the Al-Qur'an closer to the broader community in a modern and interactive way.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the problem of facility availability in achieving successful PAI learning objectives. This research uses qualitative methods and a narrative inquiry approach where data is collected through discussions and interviews. The data collected was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through reduction, display, and verification stages. The findings from this research will examine the problem of facility availability in achieving PAI learning objectives. For this reason, in this article, we will present what needs to be discussed regarding the problem of the availability of facilities in achieving the success of PAI learning objectives. The first is the role of learning facilities in supporting PAI learning objectives, the second is overcoming the constraints of limited facilities in the PAI learning process, and the third is overcoming the physical limitations of PAI learning facilities. The problem of the availability of learning facilities is one obstacle that can hinder achieving Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning objectives. Limited or inadequate facilities, such as narrow classrooms, limited multimedia equipment, or libraries with minimal collections, can affect the effectiveness of PAI learning. The unavailability of adequate facilities can reduce students' interest and motivation in understanding and deepening PAI material, hinder interaction between teachers and students, and reduce the overall quality of learning. Therefore, increasing the availability of quality learning facilities is an important step to achieving PAI learning goals.

Abstract

This research focuses on addressing the persistent challenge of motivating students in their engagement with Islamic Religious Education (PAI) materials. Despite the overarching goal of instilling virtue, there remains a recurring issue of insufficient motivation among students when it comes to PAI content. In response, this study investigates the potential effectiveness of applying the Dick and Carey instructional model within the context of GIS Prima Insani Elementary School. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, the research highlights the Dick and Carey model's systematic and organized approach. This instructional model emphasizes transparent steps that contribute to the clarity of learning outcomes, encouraging students to apply acquired knowledge in their daily lives—aligned with the broader objective of Islamic religious education. The findings suggest that the Dick and Carey model is well-suited for educational settings, offering a clear direction for both educators and students and fostering a sense of recognition and support. The structured nature of the model contributes to heightened commitment among students, ultimately enhancing motivation and facilitating optimal learning outcomes. In conclusion, the study underscores the significance of implementing effective instructional models, particularly the Dick and Carey approach, in Islamic religious education. By nurturing motivation and aligning with established standards, this model emerges as a valuable tool for educators, contributing to an overall enhanced educational experience. The findings emphasize the importance of adopting innovative approaches to address challenges in Islamic religious education, paving the way for future research and improvements in pedagogical practices

Abstract

The Indian Muslim community faces a paradox, marked by the presence of religious leaders without a clear path forward. The article identifies a lack of guidance, particularly in matters of faith, as numerous Ulema offer conflicting fatwas, stemming from a flawed Ifta methodology. Tracing the historical evolution of fatwa issuance, the 19th-century shift in India, influenced by the East India Company's trade-focused policies, led to an abundance of independent Ulema. This article explores the historical evolution of Ifta in Islam, with a focus on India. It reviews the transition to formal fatwa institutions, compares practices across regions, and proposes centralizing fatwa authority through a high central council in India, offering recommendations for reform. The absence of a centralized authority for fatwa issuance in India results in a chaotic scenario. To address this, the author proposes a structured solution: establishing a high central council of diverse Ulema and intellectuals. This council would delegate responsibilities for religious and social issues to ensure uniformity in fatwa decisions nationally. However, the article underscores that councils alone are ineffective without legal enforcement authority. This article will show: 1) Abundance of Guidance and Contradictory Fatwas; 2) Evolution of Fatwa Issuance in Islamic History; 3) Current State of Fatwa Issuance and Recommendations for Reform. Additionally, it advocates reevaluating the concepts of 'Dar al-Islam' and 'Dar al-Harb' in the context of India's identity. The author suggests a Parliament-recognized Council to issue fatwas, aligning with democratic principles and reflecting shared ownership among India's diverse Muslim population.
