This article examines the implementation of the Adiwiyata program to develop students’ environmental care character at SDN Cibeureum, Tasikmalaya. The study used a qualitative case study with descriptive analysis. The subjects involved the principal, Adiwiyata program coordinator, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that the Adiwiyata program effectively developed students’ environmental care character through organized activities, such as establishing a picket schedule, plant care activities including planting, fertilizing, and watering, and proper waste management by distinguishing organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste. This study provides insights into character development through environmental programs and can motivate other schools to implement the Adiwiyata program.

Abstract

Differences in learning outcomes in the use of online learning media in social science learning subjects lessons were conducted by Idawati and Sulfasyah. The study described in this article is designed to find out the differences between interests and learning outcomes through online learning media in social science learning subjects for students at the fourth-grade level of SD Islam Khairu Ummah, Manggala in Makassar. The study was aquantitative research with a quasi-experimental study and the design used a quasi-experimental design in which experimental class A was treated by using WhatsApp and experimental class B was treated by using Google Classroom. The samples used in the study were 52 fourth-grade students ofKhairu Ummah Islamic Elementary School Manggala in Makassar. The results indicated that (1) there were differences in students’ learningoutcomes through online learning media by using google classroom and WhatsApp in which the learning outcomes that came from the experimentalclass A average value was 69.6 and the experimental class B was 75.38. (2) During conducting students’ learning activities, the students have a good involvement. Students’ involvement could be seen when students paid attention, dared to express opinions and asked questions, did assignments, and were enthusiastic while learning ran down.

Abstract

Case-Based Learning (CBL) emphasizes effective problem-solving, discussion of specific situations, and real-life examples within a business context. This study focused on cases related to environmental preservation and its impact on business from economic, social, political, and legal perspectives. The research was conducted at Sungai Karang Mumus School (SKM School), Muang Ilir Street, Betapus, Samarinda. The study aimed to analyze the effect of CBL on students’ learning motivation and outcomes. The research used a pre-post-test design with a population of 25 postgraduate Management students at Universitas Muhammadiyah East Kalimantan, employing total sampling. Data analysis used non-parametric statistics with a Paired Sample t-test and the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ motivation and learning outcomes after implementing the CBL method. Motivated students achieved better learning outcomes, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and applied prior knowledge effectively in problem-solving. This study encourages educators and institutions to adopt CBL as an innovative learning approach.

Abstract

Teachers often face challenges when introducing new concepts that students are unfamiliar with, and students are rarely accustomed to connecting prior knowledge to construct new concepts. These teacher-related barriers and student difficulties contribute to low conceptual understanding. To address this, innovative learning strategies such as the application of PhET simulations combined with problem-solving models can be implemented. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Kateman to examine the effect of PhET simulation integrated with a problem-solving model on students’ conceptual understanding. The study employed an experimental design with a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent posttest-only control group. Data were collected using a conceptual understanding test consisting of 33 reasoned multiple-choice questions and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicated that students in the experimental class outperformed those in the control class, demonstrating a significant improvement in conceptual understanding through the PhET simulation with a problem-solving model.
