Abstract

The increase in the number of elderly every year requires serious attention and handling because the elderly experience a decline physically, biologically and psychologically which is closely related to economic, social and cultural problems. Social changes that occur in the elderly are cognitive and psychomotor decline. The decline in both functions causes the elderly to experience psychosocial aspects related to the personality of the elderly while psychological changes that occur in the elderly include short-term memory, frustration, loneliness, fear, death, depression, and anxiety. Depression is a mental disorder that shows symptoms: depressed mood, loss of pleasure or interest, feelings of guilt or low self-esteem and reduced self-confidence, eating or sleeping disorders, lack of energy, and decreased concentration. Role changes and decreased social interaction and job loss can leave the elderly vulnerable to mental problems including depression. The increase in the number of elderly every year requires serious attention and handling because the elderly experience a decline physically, biologically and psychologically which is closely related to economic, social and cultural problems. Social changes that occur in the elderly are cognitive and psychomotor decline. Abstract

The preservation of regional culture through this porridge mask workshop is carried out based on the results of our observations both directly and indirectly in the field, because of the lack of public concern, especially the younger generation to preserve this mask culture. In addition, researchers have also concluded that one of the main problems is the high cost of mask-making materials which causes a decrease in public enthusiasm. Therefore, researchers chose this topic to be explored and observed further so that the workshop on preserving the culture of this region can be carried out. In this service, researchers chose the Bina Daya scheme which is more specifically focused on fostering a culture being developed in the community by targeting students as the younger generation. We aim to use recycled paper that becomes waste as the main material. As a result, students are very enthusiastic to take part in this workshop because they can learn new things related to the innovation of making masks made from paper pulp that are environmentally friendly and have economic value.

Abstract

During the Covid pandemic, SD Muhammadiyah Sagan held an online school. There are several obstacles in learning activities faced by SD Muhammadiyah Sagan during this Covid pandemic. PJJ is known as distance learning (online) has various advantages in addition to disadvantages, including being prone to fraud or irregularities in the form of learning for 6th grade elementary school children, being required to study independently during the PJJ period, this does not cover the possibility of the occurrence of such fraud. including cheating during exams or during closed quizzes/questions, for example, students very easily commit dishonest acts, because online learning, especially using online applications, is not supervised by the teacher directly and is still vulnerable to fraudulent actions. The solution offered for this problem is the need to socialize fraud and its resolution and practice simulations through games, material presentations and pre-post test questions that will be given to 5th grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Sagan. The method offered in this community service program is to organize socialization and games. From the results of monitoring and evaluation of pre and post tests conducted before and after service activities, there is an increase in the assessment that students understand very well about fraud and settlement as many as 7 out of 18 became 25 and less score decreased by one from 3 to 2 after the post test. So that the overall understanding of the fifth grade elementary school students at Muhammadiyah Sagan Elementary School of fraud and its resolution has increased.

The total number of participants was 20, and they were divided into 4 groups. At the first meeting, we were given an introduction to how to operate a sewing machine and the practice of sewing independently. In the second meeting, participants were asked to independently produce hampers. The conclusion of this program was in the form of a positive impact on ex-ODGJ, which was assessed based on the independence parameter of 75% of participants being able to independently produce handicraft products according to the stages that have been taught; a 100% attendance rate, which describes the participants' motivation to participate in the activity; and based on the results of a qualitative assessment through interviews, information was obtained that participants felt happy and benefited from the program.

Abstract

Efforts to manage waste properly require active participation from the community in maintaining the preservation and sustainability of the earth. Over the past decade, various countries, including Indonesia, have adapted their waste management system to the zero-waste principle. This system applies the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in handling waste. Household waste generated by the people of the coastal area of Jakarta, especially the Kalibaru Village, Cilincing, has created a pile of garbage that has polluted the area. Community service programs in the form of education on waste management activities with this principle need to be carried out to increase public awareness of sustainably protecting the environment. The implementation of counseling activities is carried out by presenting "Zero waste" material with a "3R" approach with the lecture method, followed by a question-and-answer session, a quiz competition, and a competition to make multi-purpose stationery containers from cardboard and paper. Educational activities and craft-making contests are expected to increase the knowledge, understanding, and creativity of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) regarding waste management and to become ambassadors for change for others in their area.

Abstract

Cultivation of fruit plants in pots (tabulampot) has been popular for a long time, especially in urban communities, both as a hobby and as an agricultural business. In terms of aesthetics, tabulampot is interesting to look at and adds to the beautiful yard of the house. The fruit can be enjoyed as family nutrition. So far, the home yard of Pucang Village residents has only been used with vegetable plants planted in polybags. Even if there are residents who plant fruit trees, they are not in pots but planted directly on the yard that has not been cemented. Thus, tabulampot cultivation training is the right solution for the residents of Pucang Village, Banjarnegara Regency. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of Sida Makmur KWT members in Pucang Village intabulampot cultivation. The method used is counseling and demonstration. Counseling contains theoretical material about tabulampot. Demonstrations include making planting media, transplanting plants in pots, and plant care. The results of the training showed that KWT Sida Makmur members took counseling and practice seriously and enthusiastically so that they were able to absorb the tabulampot cultivation training material, and their knowledge and skills increased

Abstract

Agricultural development is faced with various challenges, such as climate change which can lead to food insecurity, the conversion of agricultural cultivation land to non-agriculture, population growth followed by an increase in food demand, exploitation, and degradation of agricultural land resources which causes a decrease in soil quality, environment, and agricultural products. Organic fertilizer can be obtained from the processing of organic waste which is produced either from agricultural waste or from household organic waste. Making eco-enzymes is an innovation that can be applied at the smallest level, namely households and farmer groups to be able to produce organic fertilizer. The Community Service Activity for the Food Security Scheme which was carried out in Kamulyan Village, Manonjaya District, Tasikmalaya Regency was to provide information on the concept of environmentally friendly agriculture through the manufacture of eco-enzymes as an effort to meet the demand for organic fertilizers. Next, a method is given for applying organic fertilizer from eco-enzyme fermentation to plants. This solution is offered considering the various benefits of eco-enzymes, especially in meeting the organic fertilizer needs of partner farmers, which in turn can increase the knowledge, skills, and independence of farmers.
