Abstract

The SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcome) taxonomy is an educational taxonomy suitable for organizing various types of learning. The SOLO taxonomy categorizes students' thinking into five levels: pre-structural, uni-structural, multi-structural, relational, and extended abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of students' thinking in solving mathematics problems based on the SOLO taxonomy with high, medium, and low levels of mathematics anxiety. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Tulungagung City, East Java, Indonesia. The instruments used were a mathematics anxiety questionnaire, test based on the SOLO taxonomy, and interview guidelines. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that subjects with high mathematics anxiety had a uni-structural level of thinking. Second, subjects with moderate mathematics anxiety had a multi-structural level of thinking. Third, subjects with low mathematics anxiety have an extended abstract thinking level.

Abstract

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is still looking for the best model. One important capital is the availability of online learning platforms. However, no studies currently explain the learning process using a unique platform for creativity. This study aims to describe the perceptions of teachers and students in learning during synchronous learning using the Google Meet platform and their creativity. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were teachers and students in vocational high schools conducting online learning. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and surveys. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guidelines, and questionnaires. Data analysis was done using the triangulation technique; then, the final result was analyzed using the percentage technique. Based on field research, it is known that the Google Meet application is more effective than other learning application media. The use of Google Meet that students and teachers are interested in certainly supports effective online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic because students are more controlled in synchronous learning and teachers are more creative because of the features that support the Google Meet platform. The stages of online learning, from planning, and implementation, to evaluation through the Google Meet platform, can be very well facilitated. Thus teachers can use Google Meet as an alternative platform to support online learning because it is relevant and integrated with other learning support features.

Abstract

Many students in the educational process need more resilience. This research aims to determine the academic resilience of students' self-efficacy aspects, such as mastery experience, vicarious experience, social persuasion, and emotional state. It also aims to synthesize a framework for modifying students’ academic behavior, namely Self-Efficacy of Academic Resilience Capacity (SEARC). A quantitative approach with regression and literature analyses was used to develop a synthesis framework based on the field findings. The random sampling method was used to collect data on students' self-efficacy. The instrument used in this research was the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) developed by Alfaiz with a 0.898 reliability. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The results showed that mastery experience, vicarious experience, and emotional state significantly increase students’ resilience but social persuasion is insignificant when viewed partially. It implies that self-efficacy ability contributes to academic resilience.
