Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of teachers’ digital competence and the implementation of deep learning on the quality of learning in primary schools. The research employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Respondents consisted of primary school teachers in Sukatani District, Purwakarta Regency selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results show that teachers’ digital competence has no significant direct effect on learning quality (β = 0,267; t = 1,348; p = 0.178). Teachers’ digital competence significantly affects deep learning implementation (β = 0,731; t = 5,222; p = 0.000). Deep learning significantly influences learning quality (β = 0,685; t = 4,241; p = 0.000). Furthermore, the indirect effect of teachers’ digital competence on learning quality through deep learning is significant (β = 0,501; t = 2,181; p = 0.029). These findings highlight the mediating role of deep learning in enhancing learning quality driven by teachers’ digital competence. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi pendidikan Islam dalam membentuk etika digital generasi Alpha pada era Revolusi Industri 5.0 dengan meninjau relevansi teori adab Ibnu Miskawayh. Pendekatan yang digunakan ialah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Objek formal penelitian ini adalah teori adab Ibnu Miskawayh yang menekankan pembentukan akhlak melalui pembiasaan, rasionalitas, dan pengendalian diri, sedangkan objek materialnya ialah gagasan pendidikan Islam yang berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter dan moralitas. Lingkup kajian difokuskan pada perilaku generasi Alpha di ruang media sosial sebagai representasi dunia digital yang sarat tantangan etika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori adab Ibnu Miskawayh memiliki relevansi signifikan dalam konteks pendidikan etika digital. Nilai-nilai adab seperti kejujuran, kesantunan, tanggung jawab, dan pengendalian hawa nafsu dapat menjadi landasan moral bagi generasi Alpha dalam berinteraksi di dunia maya. Selain itu, teori ini menegaskan pentingnya peran pendidikan Islam dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai adab melalui pembiasaan dan keteladanan guru serta lingkungan pendidikan. Kesimpulan penelitian menyatakan bahwa gagasan Ibnu Miskawayh tentang adab dapat dijadikan pedoman praktis bagi pembentukan etika digital generasi Alpha di era digital. Oleh karena itu, sekolah-sekolah yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan Islam direkomendasikan untuk mengintegrasikan teori adab Ibnu Miskawayh dalam kurikulum pendidikan karakter digital agar peserta didik mampu memanfaatkan teknologi secara beretika, bertanggung jawab, dan sesuai dengan nilai-nilai moral Islam.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach integrated with the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Karangrejo 4. The problem stems from the imbalance in numeracy skills and low understanding of number operations concepts due to classical learning that has not been adjusted to students' learning readiness. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, assessment process, and student responses to the TaRL-UbD model, as well as to analyze its contribution to improving learning outcomes. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and the principal. The results show that diagnostic assessments successfully map students into three levels of basic, intermediate, and advanced abilities, which form the basis for differentiated learning. The integration of UbD ensures clear learning objectives and aligned assessments, while TaRL provides targeted interventions according to students' mastery levels. The findings show an increase in procedural accuracy, understanding of number operations, learning engagement, and student confidence. Teachers also reported more focused classes and more meaningful learning interactions. Overall, the TaRL–UbD model has proven effective in creating adaptive and focused mathematics learning, making it a promising strategy for strengthening numeracy in elementary schools.

Abstract

Pembelajaran teks dongeng fantasi di SMP sering mengalami kendala karena materi yang bersifat abstrak dan kurang didukung media visual yang menarik. Siswa kesulitan memahami struktur teks, mengembangkan tokoh, membayangkan latar cerita, serta menyusun alur yang runtut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menilai kelayakan serta efektivitas bahan ajar teks dongeng fantasi berbasis Powtoon sebagai media pembelajaran di SMPN 13 Medan. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan media, pengembangan video Powtoon, implementasi terbatas, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas satu guru Bahasa Indonesia dan enam siswa kelas VII. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan validasi ahli, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Powtoon dinilai layak digunakan berdasarkan penilaian guru sebagai validator, terutama karena mampu menyajikan konsep fantasi secara lebih konkret melalui kombinasi animasi, ilustrasi, teks, dan audio. Media ini juga dinilai mudah dipahami, menarik, dan sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran. Dari sisi efektivitas, penggunaan Powtoon terbukti membantu siswa memahami struktur dan unsur kebahasaan dongeng fantasi secara lebih baik. Siswa terlihat lebih fokus, antusias, dan mampu menjelaskan kembali bagian-bagian dongeng dengan lebih runtut. Selain itu, kemampuan mereka dalam mengembangkan ide dan menulis cerita fantasi juga meningkat karena adanya visualisasi tokoh, latar, dan alur cerita.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategic management of Islamic education in facing digital transformation and global sustainability challenges through a comparative study at two Islamic junior high schools in Lampung Province: SMP Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung and SMP Adab Kusuma Bangsa Natar. A qualitative descriptive-comparative approach was applied through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Preliminary findings indicate that sustainable Islamic digital education rests on three key dimensions: technology transformation as worship, ethical-spiritual governance, and faith-based leadership resilience. SMP Al Azhar 1 emphasizes structured digital management through LMS and cloud systems, while SMP Adab Kusuma Bangsa focuses on digital-adab culture and social collaboration. This study introduces a new conceptual framework, the Islamic Digital Sustainability Framework (IDSF), integrating digital transformation theory (Al-Kandari et al., 2024) and maqasid al-shariah (Rahman & Hassan, 2023) to guide sustainable strategic management in Indonesian Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of cultural arts learning in addressing the low learning interest of students, which is influenced by limited facilities, teacher readiness, and student readiness in the teaching and learning process at SMP Negeri 2 Galesong Selatan, particularly in grade VIII. These conditions affect students’ low engagement and learning outcomes that have not yet reached optimal standards. To overcome these issues, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is applied, emphasizing the connection between learning materials and students’ real-life contexts so that learning becomes more relevant and meaningful.The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The application of CTL is supported by the use of popular culture–based media such as videos, animations, and music to create an engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.The results of the study indicate a significant increase in students’ emotional and intellectual engagement. In addition, the average learning outcomes consistently improved in each cycle, reaching the “excellent” category in the third cycle. Thus, the CTL approach is proven effective in increasing students’ interest and learning outcomes in cultural arts, even when the school faces limitations in learning facilities.

Abstract

The formation of moral character among elementary school students is a crucial aspect of education because, at this stage, values, attitudes, and positive habits begin to develop more consistently. A rapidly changing social environment, combined with technological advancements that provide unrestricted access to information, requires schools to play a strategic role in cultivating moral values in a directed and sustainable manner. This study aims to explore the role of education in shaping the moral character of students in elementary schools. The method employed is a literature study, also known as a library research approach, which involves collecting data and information by reviewing and analyzing scholarly articles and scientific journals. The findings indicate that the educational process is essential for fostering morally upright individuals. Through education, moral development is expected to progress appropriately, harmoniously, and in accordance with norms, human dignity, and fundamental values. As human beings are creatures who can be educated, education becomes a necessity. Thus, education plays a vital role in shaping the moral character of individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze community perceptions of the barter marriage tradition (muka ptukar) in Balbalu Village, Buru Regency, from an informal education perspective. The research addresses the tension between traditional customs and modern values regarding freedom to choose a spouse. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data was collected from 49 community members and 10 traditional leaders through observation, closed questionnaires, and documentation. The analysis employed descriptive statistics with percentage calculations. Results revealed that 38.7% of respondents were very familiar with the tradition, 42.8% were highly motivated to follow it, 61.2% expressed high satisfaction, and 63.2% perceived significant benefits. The findings indicate that despite conflicts with national marriage laws emphasizing freedom of choice, the majority of the community maintains positive perceptions toward this traditional practice, viewing it as essential for cultural preservation and family harmony. The tradition serves as informal education for transmitting cultural values to younger generations, though it requires balanced integration with modern educational principles to ensure children's rights and development. This research contributes to understanding how traditional customs function as informal educational systems in indigenous communities.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran inquiry learning dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di kelas V untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Melalui pendekatan ini, siswa didorong untuk aktif berpartisipasi dalam proses belajar dengan mengajukan pertanyaan, merumuskan hipotesis, dan melakukan eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar, di mana persentase siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) meningkat dari 45% pada siklus pertama menjadi lebih tinggi di siklus kedua. Selain itu, penerapan inquiry learning juga berdampak positif pada keterampilan sosial siswa, seperti kolaborasi dan komunikasi. Meskipun terdapat tantangan dalam implementasi, seperti kurangnya pemahaman guru mengenai tahapan inquiry, pelatihan yang tepat dan dukungan dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inovatif diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Students will experience a decrease in interest and learning activities due to unattractive learning models and lack of innovation in the development of learning media. It requires the application of appropriate models and innovation in the use of learning media. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking by using Wordwall media. The subjects of the study were 26 students of class V of Nania Ambon Christian Elementary School. Data collection techniques were carried out by tests, observation sheets and documentation. The results of the study showed that students' critical thinking skills increased from cycle I to cycle II. The results of the pre-cycle student completeness only reached 32.25%, this indicates that students' critical thinking is still low and needs improvement in learning. In cycle I, the results of students' critical thinking abilities have not met the minimum completeness with a percentage of 64.50%, so improvements need to be made in cycle II. Furthermore, in cycle II with a percentage of 80.65% with a good category. So it can be concluded that overall wardwall media can improve students' critical thinking abilities which have an impact on improving student learning outcomes in the learning process.
