Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study examines the influence of project-based Islamic Education (PAI) learning on students’ religious character within the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Islam Assalam. The research problem concerns the limited empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of project-based learning in strengthening spiritual attitudes, religious practice, and moral behavior among elementary students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the contribution of project-based PAI activities to character development and to identify the dominant factors influencing religious growth. A quantitative method was employed using a pre-experimental design involving sixth-grade students, consisting of two classes: 6A (24 students) and 6B (25 students), with a total of 49 participants. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation sheets, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ religious character after participating in project-based PAI learning, particularly in aspects of worship habits, honesty, responsibility, and respect toward others. Collaborative project activities, real-life religious tasks, and reflective assessment were identified as key components that support the internalization of Islamic values. The study concludes that project-based PAI learning is effective in enhancing religious character and supports the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Moreover, it is recommended as an innovative pedagogical model for PAI teachers in elementary schools and madrasah to foster students’ religious character through meaningful and authentic learning experiences.

This study explores the use of local wisdom in the teaching of Science and Social Studies (IPAS) as a strategy to cultivate environmental awareness among elementary school students. Local values—such as traditional conservation practices, community habits in maintaining nature, and culturally rooted environmental ethics—are integrated to help students understand ecological issues in a contextual and meaningful way. The approach is implemented through project-based learning, local environmental observation, and the exploration of cultural practices linked to IPAS topics. Findings indicate that incorporating local wisdom not only increases student engagement but also strengthens their ecological consciousness. Students become more active, responsible, and capable of applying environmentally friendly behavior in daily life. Therefore, integrating local wisdom into IPAS instruction serves as an effective method for developing students’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.

This qualitative case study research was conducted during the Field Experience Practice (PPL) period at SDQ Bin Baz Wangon. The study focuses on an in-depth exploration of the phenomenon of low parental involvement in the education of two grade 1 students and its impact on their learning attitudes and motivation. The research uses a case study method with data collection techniques through: (1) active participant observation during learning activities and social interactions at school, (2) in-depth interviews with class teachers, and (3) document analysis (student workbooks and products). The research findings reveal two main forms of lack of parental involvement: (a) low structural involvement (response to school communication), and (b) minimal process involvement (home learning support, motivation provision). The observed impacts on the two students include passive learning attitudes, low self-confidence, weak intrinsic motivation, and slower development of basic academic competencies compared to their peers. As a reflection of PPL, this research concludes that effective collaboration between teachers and parents is a critical pillar in early-grade student learning. Field Experience Practice provides a real perspective on the complexity of the teacher's role, which is not only limited to knowledge transfer but also involves the ability to build partnerships with parents. It is recommended that PPL programs and teacher education curricula integrate more communication skills training and family engagement strategies.

This study aims to determine the effect of digital-based interactive quizzes (Wordwall) on mathematics learning outcomes in the material of fraction multiplication with natural numbers for sixth-grade students at SDI Madawat. This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students caused by conventional and less engaging learning methods. The research method used is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consists of 23 sixth-grade students at SDI Madawat, comprising 10 male students and 13 female students. Data collection techniques use tests and observations with instruments in the form of test questions and observation sheets. Data analysis uses the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS 27. The results show an increase in students' average scores from 50.43 in the pretest to 80.87 in the posttest. The hypothesis test results show a t-value of 12.0 with a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant effect. Classical completeness in the attitude aspect increased from 43.47% to 95.65%, while in the skills aspect it increased from 34.78% to 91.3%. It can be concluded that the use of Wordwall digital-based interactive quizzes has a significant and effective effect in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDI Madawat in the material of fraction multiplication with natural numbers.

This study aims to describe the principal’s supervisory strategies in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SD IPK Hidayah Tayu. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, with the principal as the primary research subject. The findings indicate that improving the quality of PAI learning is carried out through six main strategies: (1) internal enhancement through socialization of teachers’ roles and responsibilities; (2) academic supervision through classroom visits and lesson plan (RPP) evaluation; (3) evaluation of teaching and learning activities (KBM) to identify obstacles and provide constructive feedback to teachers; (4) fostering teacher discipline to strengthen professionalism; (5) school promotion to increase student participation; and (6) improvement of facilities and infrastructure to support the learning process. These findings demonstrate that the principal's supervision plays a significant role in creating an effective and high-quality learning environment, particularly in enhancing the quality of PAI learning.

This study aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) related to Policies and Learning Strategies in Primary Education. The SLR method by Kitchenham & Charters is used in three phases: Planning, Conducting, and Reporting. This review summarizes 15 Internasional articles that explore various dimensions of policy in primary education. The research shows that policy reforms, such as educational decentralization, teacher autonomy, and technology integration, have a significant impact on teaching practices and student engagement. Several studies highlight the importance of a collaborative culture in schools as a determining factor for the successful implementation of policies. In a broader context, these articles identify the challenges faced by schools in maintaining practices aligned with policies, especially in an era of increased educational accountability. Emphasis on professional development for teachers and ongoing training has been shown to enhance the quality of education and student learning outcomes. Additionally, policies that support inclusive learning models show positive impacts, improving educational access for students with special needs. The research also indicates that better implementation of evidence-based policies can strengthen the relationship between theory and practice and assist in guiding decision-making in education. Overall, these findings reinforce the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the education sector and the need for evidence-based approaches in designing and implementing effective educational policies. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of implemented policies on teaching and learning practices in primary schools.

This study aims to examine the forms of synergy between school policies and parental involvement in supporting the realization of quality education at YP HKBP Private Elementary School in Pematangsiantar. The school is a faith-based educational institution that emphasizes Christian values and Batak cultural heritage in its educational practices. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Research subjects include the school principal, teachers, school committee members, and actively involved parents. The findings reveal that the school's policies, which focus on character development, contextual learning, and parental engagement, have been systematically designed. Parental involvement is not limited to financial support but also includes moral encouragement, participation in school activities, and decision-making through the school committee. This synergy is strengthened by religious values and a strong sense of familial culture within the school community. Identified challenges include parents’ limited literacy and time constraints; however, these are counterbalanced by the school’s open leadership and the HKBP community’s collaborative traditions.

This study aims to provide a comprehensive examination of how the surrounding environment can be utilized as a learning resource in Social Studies (IPS) at the elementary school level. Beyond discussing theoretical foundations, this research also offers practical guidelines for teachers to design learning activities that are more contextually relevant to students’ real-life situations. Using a literature review approach, the study compiles various references that highlight the effectiveness of environmental-based learning and its contribution to improving the overall quality of instruction. The findings reveal that students’ engagement significantly increases when the local environment is integrated into the learning process. Activities such as direct observation, exploring social conditions in the community, and examining geographical phenomena make the learning experience more dynamic and meaningful. Students gain a deeper understanding of the material because they can connect academic concepts to real situations they encounter daily. However, several challenges arise, including limited instructional time, insufficient supporting facilities, and varying levels of teacher readiness in implementing environment-based learning. These obstacles can be addressed through careful planning, strong institutional support, and collaboration with the local community. Overall, this study emphasizes that incorporating the environment as a learning resource can create a more interactive and student-centered classroom atmosphere. This approach not only enhances students’ comprehension but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, and social awareness. With consistent application, environment-based learning has the potential to offer substantial benefits for students, teachers, and the broader community.

Revolusi digital menuntut integrasi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dalam pendidikan, termasuk di tingkat Taman Kanak-kanak (TK). Namun, guru TK Plus Tunas Rimba Cabang Purwakarta mengalami kesenjangan kompetensi digital, di mana perangkat yang ada hanya terbatas untuk komunikasi, sementara pembelajaran masih mengandalkan media fisik. Kondisi ini mendasari perlunya intervensi untuk memanfaatkan tools digital sederhana. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendokumentasikan dan merefleksikan proses, respons, dan pembelajaran dari penyelenggaraan workshop pengenalan LearningApps.org bagi guru-guru TK tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang berfokus pada intervensi singkat (3 jam) ini sebagai first exposure. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi partisipan, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa workshop tersebut berhasil menciptakan pengalaman interaktif pertama dan memungkinkan semua guru mengoperasikan dasar-dasar platform hingga menghasilkan produk media interaktif sederhana. Mayoritas guru memilih template "Pemasangan Pasangan" dan "Kuis Sederhana" karena relevan dengan aspek perkembangan anak usia dini. Meskipun terdapat kendala teknis dan personal, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan awareness dan self-efficacy guru, mengubah perspektif mereka bahwa teknologi dapat menciptakan pembelajaran interaktif dan tidak membosankan. Laporan ini berfungsi sebagai rujukan program pengenalan teknologi serupa dengan sumber daya dan waktu yang terbatas.Abstrak ditulis maksimal 250 kata yang menggambarkan masalah,tujuan penelitian, metodologi dan hasil yang diperoleh. This research is based on the low critical thinking skills of students in the science subject of grade IV at SD Negeri 22 Tulang Bawang Udik. Students tend to be passive and less active during the learning process, thus having an impact on low learning outcomes, especially critical thinking skills. To overcome this problem, the ASSURE learning model combined with STORYBOARD media was applied in the hope of increasing students' activeness and critical thinking skills. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the use of the ASSURE learning model assisted by STORYBOARD media is effective on students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the model in grade IV students.The research uses a quantitative approach with the type of Quasi Experiment Design and Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample amounted to 43 students, namely 20 students of class IV B as a control class using the PBL model and 23 students of class IV A as an experimental class using the ASSURE model assisted by STORYBOARD media. The data collection instruments were in the form of pretest and posttest with 10 description questions. Data were analyzed using a t-test after meeting the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so there was a significant difference between the posttest value of the experimental and control classes. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The study concluded that the ASSURE learning model assisted by STORYBOARD media was effective in improving the critical thinking skills of grade IV students.
