Abstract

Analysis of the Impact of Gadget Use on the Character Profile of Pancasila Students of Grade V of Penerus Bangsa Elementary School, Tangerang City.This research is motivated by the issue of student character being affected by excessive gadget use. In today's digital era, gadgets have become a part of daily life, including among elementary school students. However, uncontrolled gadget use can have negative impacts on students’ character, especially those that reflect the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. The purpose of this research is to describe both the positive and negative impacts of gadget use on the six character dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, which include: faith in God Almighty and noble character, independence, critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, and global diversity among fifth-grade students at SD Penerus Bangsa, Tangerang City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research was conducted at SD Penerus Bangsa, Tangerang City, from October 2024 to March 2025. The research subjects were fifth-grade students, while the informants included fifth-grade teachers, students, and parents. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques involved data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The results of the study show that gadget use has various effects on the character of students based on the Pancasila Student Profile. The positive impacts include increased critical thinking skills, creativity, and student independence in seeking information. Meanwhile, the negative impacts include a decline in religious attitudes, reduced social interaction, and weakened cooperation. Therefore, guidance and supervision from both parents and teachers are necessary to ensure that gadget use contributes positively to character development in accordance with the values of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Clean water is a basic necessity essential for human life. However, challenges in meeting this need are increasing due to environmental pollution and limited access to water treatment technologies, especially in rural areas. A simple water filtration experiment based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) approach was implemented at SD Negeri Babakan to enhance students' understanding of water pollution and its treatment. Through this experiment, students not only learn the theory of filtration but also actively engage in designing and evaluating water filtration devices. This research aims to explore the impact of project-based learning on developing students' critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills, as well as their environmental awareness. The findings indicate that this approach effectively improves students' understanding of scientific concepts and their practical application in daily life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi program Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat pada siswa-siswi di SMP Negeri 2 Rawajitu Selatan serta menilai tingkat minat dan motivasi mereka dalam mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat merupakan program kebugaran yang dirancang khusus bagi anak-anak dengan memadukan unsur olahraga, musik, dan nilai-nilai kebangsaan guna membentuk karakter yang sehat, ceria, dan bersemangat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket kepada 62 responden yang terdiri atas siswa kelas VII, VIII, dan IX. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk mengukur tingkat minat dan motivasi siswa terhadap pelaksanaan program senam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi program Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat di SMP Negeri 2 Rawajitu Selatan berjalan cukup baik, meskipun terdapat beberapa kendala dalam hal pembiasaan dan partisipasi siswa. Secara umum, siswa menunjukkan tingkat minat dan motivasi yang tinggi terhadap kegiatan senam ini karena dianggap menyenangkan, menyehatkan, serta meningkatkan kebersamaan. Dengan demikian, program Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat memiliki peranan penting dalam mendukung pembelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) sekaligus menumbuhkan semangat hidup sehat dan cinta tanah air pada peserta didik.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) in the 21st century has reshaped educational paradigms, emphasizing creativity and interdisciplinary learning. However, variations in implementation have led to inconsistent findings regarding its effectiveness. This study aims to systematically review and synthesize empirical research published between 2021 and 2025 on the impact of STEAM approaches on students’ learning outcomes and creativity. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA protocol, the review involved four main stages: identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion across Crossref, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. A total of 1,344 articles were retrieved, and 38 met the inclusion criteria for analysis. The results indicate that STEAM education enhances cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning while fostering creativity through the integration of the arts, encouraging originality and innovation. It is concluded that STEAM serves as a holistic pedagogical framework that bridges academic achievement and creativity, preparing adaptive and innovative learners for 21st-century challenges.

Abstract

Elementary school students have difficulty in solving problems, especially when solving story-shaped math problems. This study aims to describe students' math problem solving ability based on Polya's steps by considering cognitive style. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted in class V in one of the elementary schools in Malang. The Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) instrument was used to identify students' cognitive styles, while data were collected through problem solving tests, interviews and documentation. The results showed that students with field independent cognitive style (FI) were able to complete the four steps of Polya systematically and independently, and able to recognize important information and develop appropriate solution strategies. In contrast, students with field dependent (FD) style had difficulty in understanding the problem and planning the solution, and require more direction. It can be concluded that cognitive style can have an impact on the success of students in solving story problems based on Polya's steps.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of creative thinking skills among students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Of the 30 students, only 3 had achieved KKTP, while the other 27 had not. The factor influencing the low level of creative thinking skills among students was that the learning media used did not fully provide space for creating new ideas. One learning medium that can improve creative thinking skills is the smart box learning medium. This study aims to determine students' creative thinking skills before and after using the smart box medium and how the smart box medium is applied in Natural and Social Sciences in grade IV at SDN Kencana Indah I. The approach used in this study is quantitative and qualitative. The method used in this study was the classroom action research method. This study was conducted in four cycles, and the subjects in this study were 30 fourth-grade students at SDN Kencana Indah I. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed that in the pre-cycle stage, classical mastery was only 23% with an average score of 60. Teacher activity increased from 64% in cycle I to 100% in cycle IV, while student activity increased from 63% to 96%. Classical mastery also increased, namely cycle I 17% (average 64), cycle II 60% (76), cycle III 83% (77), and cycle IV 90% (80). Overall, classical mastery reached 67% with an average score of 76. Based on these results, the smart box media proved to be effective in improving students' creative thinking skills in IPAS learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of graduate competency standards at SMP Puri Artha, which include the aspects of attitude, knowledge, and skills. The problem addressed in this research is how the school ensures that students achieve these competencies through structured, measurable, and continuous learning programs. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, observation of learning activities, and analysis of school documents. The findings show that the school applies an integrated strategy to develop student competencies holistically. Attitude development is carried out through routine worship practices, religious education, social programs, and a discipline point system known as Gerakan Disiplin Sekolah (GDS). Knowledge competence is strengthened through a morning literacy program, digital-based learning, and the use of interactive media. Skill development is facilitated through the Digi Life Skill program, extracurricular activities, and hands-on practice. Competency evaluation is conducted regularly during mid-semester and final-semester assessments. This study also highlights the central role of teachers supported by principals, counselors, parents, and the school environment in achieving the intended learning outcomes. In conclusion, the strategy implemented by SMP Puri Artha emphasizes a balanced approach between academic achievement and the development of attitude, knowledge, skill, and physical health, in order to prepare graduates with comprehensive readiness for future challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the mental health of the main character, Alina, in the novel Pukul Setengah Lima by Rintik Sedu through the humanistic psychology approach of Abraham Maslow, and examines its relevance as a literature teaching material in high school. This study is motivated by the importance of literature as a learning medium that not only has an aesthetic function, but also conveys psychological understanding and human values for students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with Miles and Huberman analysis techniques to examine the fulfillment of five levels of Maslow's needs, namely physiological, security, affection, appreciation, and self-actualization. The results of the analysis showed that Alina was only able to meet two levels of needs, namely physiological needs and some reward needs. His physiological needs can be seen from his ability to work to meet basic daily needs, such as eating, drinking, clothing, and board. Success in meeting these most basic needs provides an important foundation for his survival and proves that despite being surrounded by various emotional problems, he is still able to survive physically. Meanwhile, the need for appreciation is also met through Alina's firm attitude in maintaining her dignity and self-esteem. He rejects the transactional view of relationships, asserts that he is not a medium of exchange or merely an object whose value is determined by matter, and demands recognition of his intrinsic value as a whole human being. The results of the first validation by linguists and literature experts obtained an average score of 4.0 in the category of excellent and declared suitable for use. The second validation by media experts obtained an average score of 3.0 in the good category and was also declared suitable for use, although there were some inputs for improving the appearance and presentation. Meanwhile, the third validation by practitioners/teachers obtained an average score of 4.0 with the category of very good and declared suitable for use. The validation results show that the teaching materials for the novel At Half Five based on Maslow's theory are included in the good to very good categories, so it can be concluded that the teaching materials are suitable for use in literary learning in high school.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of low English vocabulary mastery and similar problems found at the UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang. The objectives of this study were to determine (1) the description of the application of the SAVI learning model in fifth-grade English lessons, (2) the description of students' vocabulary mastery, and (3) the effect of the SAVI model on students' English vocabulary mastery. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population includes all 30 fifth-grade students, with class VB as the experimental group and class VA as the control group, each consisting of 15 students. Data collection techniques include tests and observations. The results showed that the implementation of the SAVI model was very successful. The average score of the experimental class increased from adequate in the pretest to excellent in the posttest. Improvements were also seen in the indicators of the ability to use vocabulary in the correct context, spell correctly, and translate vocabulary according to its meaning. The results of the independent t-test showed a significance value of < 0.001 (< 0.05), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, there was a significant effect of the application of the SAVI learning model on the English vocabulary mastery of fifth grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang.

Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes through the Discovery Learning model for fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan, consisting of 22 students. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques carried out through observation using teacher and student activity monitoring sheets, evaluation sheets, and documentation. The results of the study show that the Discovery Learning model can improve learning outcomes in science subjects for fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan. In the first cycle, students’ science learning achievement reached 59.09%, and in the second cycle, it increased to 90.91%, indicating an improvement of 31.82%. Based on the results of each cycle, it can be concluded that science learning using the Discovery Learning model can enhance the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan.
