Abstract

Improving the quality of education in elementary schools (SD) is a primary focus in the effort to create superior human resources. One effective strategy that is relevant to modern times is data-driven educational leadership, where strategic decisions are made based on accurate and relevant data analysis, not just on intuition. This research aims to explore the implementation, effectiveness, and challenges of data-driven leadership in improving the quality of education in elementary schools. The method used is a literature review, analyzing various literature, scientific journals, and documents related to educational leadership, data-based decision making, and quality improvement at the elementary school level. Data was collected systematically, followed by analysis to identify relevant patterns, findings, and best practices. The results show that data-driven leadership allows principals and teachers to identify areas needing improvement, design targeted interventions, and monitor student progress more objectively. This implementation has a positive impact on increasing student learning outcomes, improving learning effectiveness, and developing teacher competencies. However, its implementation faces challenges, such as a lack of data analysis skills, limited infrastructure, and resistance to changes in work culture. Data-driven leadership is a powerful approach for continuously improving educational quality in elementary schools. To maximize its potential, adequate training for educators, the provision of a reliable data management system, and full support from all stakeholders are needed. This approach can help elementary schools make more precise and evidence-based decisions, thus creating a higher-quality learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of bullying behavior on the mental health of elementary school children through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature sources were obtained from various internationally indexed databases, including Scopus, DOAJ, Scispace, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2017 to 2025. The selection procedure was conducted systematically using strict inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevant and representative findings. The analysis reveals that bullying behavior, particularly verbal and social forms, has a significant impact on the mental health of elementary school children. The effects include an increased risk of emotional problems such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), low self-esteem, and suicidal ideation. Furthermore, bullying contributes to reduced learning motivation, social isolation, and difficulties in adapting to the school environment. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that bullying serves as a major risk factor that hinders children’s psychological well-being. Therefore, comprehensive actions involving schools, families, and communities are required to establish a safe, supportive, and mentally healthy educational environment for children.

Abstract

Character formation of santri is a fundamental objective of education in Islamic boarding schools, particularly for new students who are in the process of adapting to the values and culture of the pesantren. The role of asatidz is crucial in guiding santri and instilling moral and spiritual values that shape their character. This study aims to analyze the role of asatidz in the character formation of new santri at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Campus 7 Kalianda. This research employed a qualitative method with a field research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that asatidz play a strategic role in shaping santri’s character through the internalization of the values of the Panca Jiwa, namely sincerity, simplicity, self-reliance, Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyyah), and freedom. Character formation is implemented through four main methods: role modeling, habituation, moral advice, and the application of educational punishment. Role modeling is identified as the most effective method as it provides direct examples for santri. Habituation is carried out through daily routines to foster consistent character development, while advice and punishment function as tools for moral reinforcement, discipline, and responsibility. This study emphasizes that character education in pesantren extends beyond academic aspects to include the development of faith, worship, and morality, contributing to the formation of santri who are morally upright, independent, and responsible.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of recruitment techniques on teacher quality at Biroyatul Huda Private School in Cilongok, a rural area. A qualitative approach was employed to understand the recruitment process, which includes stages such as using social media for job announcements and selecting candidates based on academic qualifications and personal characteristics. The findings indicate that recruitment methods relying on personal networks and limited information negatively affect teacher quality. Many teachers join rural private schools not out of long-term commitment but due to a lack of available options, leading to low dedication and teaching quality, as some view their roles as temporary alternatives. Economic factors are the primary motivation, resulting in high teacher turnover and dissatisfaction with salaries and professional development opportunities. This research recommends the development of a more structured and holistic recruitment system to enhance educational quality in rural schools.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum was introduced as a response to post-pandemic educational challenges, emphasizing flexibility, learner autonomy, and student-centered approaches. This article aims to examine the implementation of existentialist philosophy in the Merdeka Curriculum and its implications for both students and teachers. This study employed a qualitative approach using literature review methods, analyzing primary sources of existentialist philosophy and secondary sources such as journal articles, conference proceedings, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that existentialist principles freedom, responsibility, and authenticity are reflected in differentiated learning, Project Based Learning (PjBL), Problem Based Learning (PBL), and the Pancasila Student Profile Projects (P5). For students, this approach enhances ownership of learning, supports the search for meaning and authentic identity them. For teachers, it demands a shift in role from knowledge transmitters to facilitators of student existence, although challenges remain regarding administrative workload and mindset transformation. The study concludes that, when viewed through the lens of existentialism, the Merdeka Curriculum has the potential to cultivate a more humanistic, meaningful, and future-oriented educational ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of using animated PowerPoint media on learning motivation and science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kepil, Wonosobo Regency. The background of this research is the low motivation and science achievement of students, partly caused by the use of conventional learning media that lack interactivity and visualization. A quasi-experimental method with a two-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The experimental class used PowerPoint integrated with animation, while the control class used conventional PowerPoint without animation. Data on learning motivation were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire, and learning outcomes were measured through multiple-choice tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and an independent sample t-test after meeting the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The findings showed that the experimental group experienced a greater improvement than the control group, with an N-Gain average of 0.68 for learning outcomes and 0.45 for motivation. The t-test results indicated a significant difference (p < 0.05) between the two groups. These results confirm that animated PowerPoint media can increase both students’ motivation and science learning outcomes. The study concludes that integrating animation into PowerPoint presentations makes learning more engaging, interactive, and effective for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership and school organizational climate on teachers’ pedagogical competence in elementary schools within Cluster I of Sapuran District, Wonosobo Regency. The background of this study stems from the empirical condition showing that teachers’ pedagogical competence remains inconsistent, as reflected in their ability to plan, implement, and evaluate learning processes. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive method. The sample consisted of 91 teachers selected from a total population of 118 through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results reveal that both principal leadership and organizational climate significantly influence teachers’ pedagogical competence, with an R² value of 0.550, indicating that 55% of the variation in teachers’ pedagogical competence can be explained by the two independent variables. The principal’s role as a motivator, supervisor, and instructional leader, supported by a positive organizational climate, has proven to enhance teachers’ professionalism and teaching effectiveness. The study concludes that strong instructional leadership and a conducive organizational climate are key factors in improving pedagogical competence in elementary education settings.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools is a critical issue in education that has long-term effects on students' psychological, social, and moral development. Value education plays a vital role in shaping students’ character, fostering empathy, tolerance, responsibility, and self-control as essential foundations for preventing bullying behavior. This article proposes a conceptual framework for developing an anti-bullying character assessment instrument as part of value education evaluation within the SIPENALI Program (Anti- Bullying Prevention and Response System). This descriptive qualitative study is based on theoretical review and reflection on school-based practices. The proposed instrument consists of two main formats: a student attitude scale and a teacher observation rubric, covering six key value dimensions: empathy, tolerance, selfcontrol, responsibility, moral courage, and fairness. This design is expected to serve as a practical tool for teachers to systematically assess students’ character internalization and to support the sustainability of antibullying initiatives rooted in value education at the elementary level.
