Abstract

This study examines the mental health of the main character, Alina, in the novel Pukul Setengah Lima by Rintik Sedu through the humanistic psychology approach of Abraham Maslow, and examines its relevance as a literature teaching material in high school. This study is motivated by the importance of literature as a learning medium that not only has an aesthetic function, but also conveys psychological understanding and human values for students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with Miles and Huberman analysis techniques to examine the fulfillment of five levels of Maslow's needs, namely physiological, security, affection, appreciation, and self-actualization. The results of the analysis showed that Alina was only able to meet two levels of needs, namely physiological needs and some reward needs. His physiological needs can be seen from his ability to work to meet basic daily needs, such as eating, drinking, clothing, and board. Success in meeting these most basic needs provides an important foundation for his survival and proves that despite being surrounded by various emotional problems, he is still able to survive physically. Meanwhile, the need for appreciation is also met through Alina's firm attitude in maintaining her dignity and self-esteem. He rejects the transactional view of relationships, asserts that he is not a medium of exchange or merely an object whose value is determined by matter, and demands recognition of his intrinsic value as a whole human being. The results of the first validation by linguists and literature experts obtained an average score of 4.0 in the category of excellent and declared suitable for use. The second validation by media experts obtained an average score of 3.0 in the good category and was also declared suitable for use, although there were some inputs for improving the appearance and presentation. Meanwhile, the third validation by practitioners/teachers obtained an average score of 4.0 with the category of very good and declared suitable for use. The validation results show that the teaching materials for the novel At Half Five based on Maslow's theory are included in the good to very good categories, so it can be concluded that the teaching materials are suitable for use in literary learning in high school.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of low English vocabulary mastery and similar problems found at the UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang. The objectives of this study were to determine (1) the description of the application of the SAVI learning model in fifth-grade English lessons, (2) the description of students' vocabulary mastery, and (3) the effect of the SAVI model on students' English vocabulary mastery. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population includes all 30 fifth-grade students, with class VB as the experimental group and class VA as the control group, each consisting of 15 students. Data collection techniques include tests and observations. The results showed that the implementation of the SAVI model was very successful. The average score of the experimental class increased from adequate in the pretest to excellent in the posttest. Improvements were also seen in the indicators of the ability to use vocabulary in the correct context, spell correctly, and translate vocabulary according to its meaning. The results of the independent t-test showed a significance value of < 0.001 (< 0.05), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, there was a significant effect of the application of the SAVI learning model on the English vocabulary mastery of fifth grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang.

Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes through the Discovery Learning model for fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan, consisting of 22 students. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques carried out through observation using teacher and student activity monitoring sheets, evaluation sheets, and documentation. The results of the study show that the Discovery Learning model can improve learning outcomes in science subjects for fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan. In the first cycle, students’ science learning achievement reached 59.09%, and in the second cycle, it increased to 90.91%, indicating an improvement of 31.82%. Based on the results of each cycle, it can be concluded that science learning using the Discovery Learning model can enhance the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Kuningan Barat 01 Jakarta Selatan.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of metacognitive strategies on students’ fluency in oral communication at SMPN 20 Bulukumba. The study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, involving class 8A as the sample, consisting of 31 students selected through cluster sampling. The data were collected using a speaking test administered in three stages: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. During the treatment, students were trained to apply metacognitive strategies, including planning, monitoring, and evaluating, to improve their fluency in oral communication. The results revealed that students showed a notable improvement in fluency after the implementation of metacognitive strategies. They became more confident, spoke more smoothly, and reduced hesitation when expressing their ideas. These findings indicate that metacognitive strategies effectively enhance students’ fluency by promoting greater awareness and control over their speaking performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat baca mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI) Institut Agama Islam Al-Zaytun Indonesia (IAI AL-AZIS) serta menentukan strategi yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan mahasiswa dari berbagai angkatan serta pustakawan. Fokus penelitian ini adalah memahami faktor internal dan eksternal yang berperan dalam membentuk minat baca mahasiswa calon guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat minat baca mahasiswa PGMI masih bervariasi; sebagian besar mahasiswa membaca hanya untuk memenuhi tuntutan akademik seperti tugas, presentasi, atau ujian, sementara sebagian kecil lainnya menjadikan membaca sebagai kebutuhan intelektual yang berkelanjutan. Faktor yang memengaruhi minat baca dikategorikan menjadi dua, yaitu faktor internal seperti motivasi diri, rasa senang terhadap bacaan, dan kebiasaan membaca sejak dini, serta faktor eksternal seperti peran dosen, pengaruh teman sebaya, fasilitas perpustakaan, dan perkembangan teknologi digital. Dosen berperan sebagai fasilitator literasi yang menumbuhkan budaya membaca melalui pembelajaran berbasis literatur, sedangkan teman sebaya turut berkontribusi membangun lingkungan sosial yang mendukung kegiatan membaca. Kemajuan teknologi dapat menjadi sarana positif apabila dimanfaatkan secara bijak dalam menunjang akses literasi. Strategi peningkatan minat baca mencakup optimalisasi layanan perpustakaan, penguatan peran dosen dalam literasi akademik, pemanfaatan media digital secara produktif, serta pembentukan komunitas literasi mahasiswa. Kesimpulannya, minat baca mahasiswa PGMI merupakan hasil interaksi dinamis antara motivasi pribadi dan lingkungan sosial yang dapat ditingkatkan melalui kolaborasi literasi di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

Mathematics has a very important role in training students' cognitive abilities to think logically, systematically, and analytically. One of the topics in mathematics that requires a deep understanding is Trigonometry Identity. However, not all students have the same ability to solve trogonometry problems, because there are differences in learning styles that affect the way students understand and process information. In the context of Trigonometric Identity learning, these differences in learning styles can be a factor that affects students' cognitive abilities. This suggests that a uniform approach to learning is not always effective for all students. Therefore, it is important to identify students' cognitive abilities based on their learning styles, so that a more appropriate and effective learning model can be designed. Based on interviews with teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Jayapura, many students experienced difficulties in solving trigonometry problems. This can be caused by the incompatibility between the teaching model used and the student's learning style. By understanding students' cognitive abilities in the context of their learning styles, it is hoped that a more appropriate and effective learning model can be designed. This study aims to identify students' cognitive abilities based on learning styles in solving trigonometric identity subject problems. This research is a descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used learning style questionnaires, written tests and interviews. Based on the results of the research, the V14 Subjects have the cognitive ability to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create quite well. Subject A36, only has the cognitive ability to apply and evaluate. K43 subjects, only have the ability to understand, apply, and evaluate. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of a Differentiated Learning Model.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Educaplay learning media in Pancasila education learning, to determine the difference before and after using Educaplay learning media, and to identify the effect of using Educaplay learning media on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila education for fifth grade students at UPT SPF SD Galangan Kapal 1. This research is classified as an experimental study with a quantitative approach. The research design employed in this study is a Quasi-Experimental Design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The population of this study consisted of all students at UPT SPF SD Galangan Kapal 1. The sample included 18 students from class V A and 16 students from class V B, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation sheets on the implementation of learning media and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the percentage of learning implementation using Educaplay learning media was categorized as good in the first meeting and very good in the second meeting. The inferential analysis showed a significance value of p = 0.001, which is smaller than α = 0.05, based on the independent sample t-test. This indicates a significant difference in post-test results between the experimental and control groups. These findings demonstrate that the improvement in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental group was higher than in the control group. This is supported by the higher average post-test scores of students in the experimental group compared to those in the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that: (1) the learning process using Educaplay learning media is in the very good category, (2) test results indicate an improvement in students’ learning outcomes, and (3) there is a significant effect of using Educaplay learning media on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila education for fifth grade students at UPT SPF SD Galangan Kapal 1.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media in the form of smart jenga for social studies content for grade V elementary school. This type of research is research and development with ADDIE development design consisting of 5 stages, namely: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. Smart jenga consists of wooden blocks, question cards, point cards and guidebooks. The results of research and development are categorized as feasible according to material experts with a score of 90, media experts with a score of 98.5 and language experts with a score of 98. The results of user trials involving 21 respondents with an average score of 81.15. The final conclusion of this study is that smart jenga media is feasible to be used in learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the decreasing number of children's songs with educational and aesthetic value, while young children are more familiar with popular adult songs that are less relevant to their world. This condition creates a need for musical works that can foster sensitivity, appreciation of nature, and aesthetic values ​​from an early age. The purpose of this research is to create a children's song entitled "Colors of the World" as a learning medium that connects children with nature through a fun and meaningful musical experience. The research uses a creation method that emphasizes the creative process as a form of scientific and artistic exploration, through the stages of conceptual observation, musical design, lyric and melody creation, implementation, and evaluation of the work. The results show that the song "Colors of the World" successfully presents a holistic learning experience by combining educational, aesthetic, and interactive elements. Simple lyrics, cheerful rhythms, and elements of movement and handclaps can increase children's enthusiasm, strengthen language, motor, and social-emotional skills, and foster a sense of awe and gratitude for the beauty of God's creation.

Abstract

The creation of the regional song "Mbali Mbojo Ku" was motivated by the desire to express love, longing, and pride for the birthplace of Bima (Mbojo) through music as a medium of cultural expression. This song was created to maintain the existence of the language and regional cultural values ​​that are starting to be eroded by modernization, as well as to rekindle the spirit of love for local identity among the younger generation. Through a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques, this research focuses on the meaning, function, and social context of the song's creation. The results show that "Mbali Mbojo Ku" represents a deep emotional bond between the creator and his birthplace, where the poetic Mbojo lyrics and touching melody depict longing, pride, and commitment to preserving Bima culture. This song not only serves as a medium of personal expression, but also as a unifying tool for the Mbojo community and an educational tool that strengthens awareness of the importance of preserving local cultural heritage amidst the currents of globalization.
