Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy implemented by the Baitul Ihsani Nahdlatul Wathan Tebo Islamic Boarding School to increase the number of new student enrollments amidst increasingly competitive educational institutions. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to describe the actual conditions of the Islamic boarding school's marketing strategy. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with the Islamic boarding school leadership, ustadz/ustadzah (Islamic teachers), and students as key informants. The results indicate that the Islamic boarding school's marketing strategy requires systematic planning, continuous evaluation, and strengthening of digital management to compete in the modern era. Furthermore, the success of an educational institution's marketing is greatly influenced by the leadership's managerial capacity, the Islamic boarding school's ability to develop flagship programs, and the strategy's alignment with Islamic values ​​as the institution's spiritual foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership innovations of the Baitul Ihsani Nahdlatul Wathan Islamic Boarding School in Tebo Tengah District, Jambi Province, in managing educational facilities and infrastructure. This study used a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the leadership implemented several forms of innovation, including the development of a more structured facilities management system, improved regular facility maintenance, and the use of simple technology to support learning activities. Supporting factors for innovation include leadership commitment, support from some teaching staff, and participation from the community and students' guardians. Inhibiting factors include limited funding, resistance from some teachers or students to change, and a lack of expertise in facilities management.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, including in the use of learning media. One emerging innovation is the use of iPads as a substitute for printed textbooks in the learning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of iPad use in learning activities at Phatnawitya Yala School, analyze the abilities of teachers and students in utilizing these devices, and identify obstacles encountered in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of iPads can improve learning efficiency and access to digital learning resources, but still faces obstacles such as teacher readiness, supervision of device use, and limited digital literacy. Strategies are needed to mentor and strengthen teacher competencies so that the use of iPads can run optimally and in accordance with educational goals, especially from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada studi peran kepemimpinan perempuan dalam pengembangan lembaga pendidikan Islam di Pondok Pesantren Ummul Masakin di Desa Kampung Pulau, Kecamatan Pemayung, Kabupaten Batang Hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif yang dikombinasikan dengan metode kualitatif menggunakan alat seperti observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk pengumpulan data. Analisis data meliputi langkah-langkah seperti reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Ummul Masakin memiliki visi yang jelas dalam mengembangkan lembaga pendidikan pondok pesantren dan para pemimpin pondok pesantren juga berperan aktif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan meskipun fasilitas dan infrastruktur masih terbatas. Dalam mengelola lembaga pendidikan, proses perumusan kebijakan strategis dilakukan oleh para pemimpin pondok pesantren, termasuk pengembangan kurikulum, pembentukan sistem pembelajaran, dan pengelolaan sumber daya manusia. Strategi kepemimpinan di Pondok Pesantren Ummul Masakin bersifat adaptif dan kolaboratif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal’s managerial competence in improving teacher performance at SMA Negeri 4 Batanghari, Jambi Province. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research informants consisted of the principal, vice principal, and teachers. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that teacher performance has generally been implemented according to school regulations; however, it has not yet been optimal, particularly in lesson planning, instructional implementation, and learning evaluation. The obstacles to teacher performance include low discipline among some teachers and limited learning facilities and infrastructure. The principal’s managerial competence is manifested through program planning, task organization, teacher coaching, academic supervision, and motivation. These managerial efforts play an important role in improving teacher performance in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The increasingly frequent hydrometeorological disasters in Indonesia, particularly in Aceh, have serious psychosocial impacts on elementary school-aged children, directly impacting the continuity of the learning process. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of women in building post-disaster psychosocial resilience in children through basic education by examining the underlying social, cultural, and religious dimensions. The study used a qualitative method with a field research approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies with female companions, elementary school-aged children, and community leaders in Alue Kuta Village, Bireuen Regency. The results indicate that post-disaster children experience anxiety, fear, impaired concentration in learning, and a decreased sense of security. Women emerge as the primary actors in psychosocial support through maternal relationships, emotional closeness, and informal educational practices based on Islamic values. The main findings reveal that women's mentoring, imbued with the values ​​of mercy, patience, and religious coping, effectively restores children's emotional stability, strengthens social adaptation, and encourages the sustainability of post-disaster basic education. This research highlights the importance of integrating women's roles and a religious-based psychosocial approach into basic education and disaster management policies to ensure holistic, sustainable, and aligns children's recovery with the Islamic culture and values ​​prevalent in the community. Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teachers’ pedagogical competence in improving learning quality at SMP Negeri 14 Merangin. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers, the principal/vice principal for curriculum, and students, complemented by classroom observations and document analysis of instructional plans and assessment records. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that pedagogical competence contributes significantly to learning quality through: (1) understanding students’ characteristics to adjust learning strategies, (2) structured lesson planning that clarifies learning goals and classroom flow, (3) active and communicative teaching practices that increase student engagement, (4) the use of learning media and technology to support concept visualization, although not yet consistently implemented, (5) formative assessment and specific feedback that help students improve understanding more quickly, and (6) reflective practice and follow-up actions that promote continuous instructional improvement. The study also highlights the need to strengthen the consistent use of instructional media/ICT and systematic follow-up based on assessment results (remedial and enrichment) to ensure more equitable and sustained improvements in learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the contributions of principal leadership, teacher performance, and parents’ involvement to students’ discipline at SMP Negeri 51 Merangin. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively, involving the principal, vice principal for student affairs, guidance and counseling teacher, homeroom teachers, subject teachers, parent representatives, and student representatives. Data were analyzed interactively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, while source and method triangulation were used to enhance trustworthiness. The findings indicate that students’ discipline is strengthened by consistent principal leadership through role modeling, supervision, and policy enforcement; by teacher performance through classroom management, educative firmness, and positive reinforcement; and by parents’ involvement through active communication, home supervision, and support for school rules. In addition, the synergy of school regulations, violation records, and follow-up interventions conducted by homeroom teachers and counseling services enhances the effectiveness of discipline initiatives. The study concludes that student discipline is more effectively developed when leadership, classroom practices, and family support are aligned within a structured disciplinary system.

Abstract

The dance art learning laboratory is an important facility for developing creativity, research, and innovation in art education at the university level. This facility is not merely a place for physical practice or training; it also serves as a reflective and collaborative space that combines theoretical aspects, research, and artistic exploration. This conceptual study aims to analyze the role, function, and application of dance art learning laboratories in academic settings, particularly in the Master of Arts Education program. This research uses a conceptual approach with a literature review method thru analysis of relevant literature on art pedagogy, creativity, and learning innovation. The analysis results indicate that the dance art laboratory plays an important role in fostering esthetic sensitivity, critical thinking skills, and creativity among graduate students. Thru artistic research, creative reflection, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the dance art learning laboratory serves as the foundation for building an art education ecosystem that is adaptive, dynamic, and contextual. Abstract

The development of digital technology and the massive use of social media have encouraged educational institutions to adapt more innovative and competitive educational marketing strategies to attract new students. This study aims to evaluate social media-based educational marketing management in attracting students at SMP Al-Ma'rufiyah Magelang. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-evaluative approach through data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving school management, the social media team, and relevant stakeholders. The results of the discussion indicate that the use of social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp has become the primary means of conveying school information, building the institution's image, and establishing communication with prospective students and parents. However, the implementation of marketing management still faces limitations in strategic planning, content consistency, and optimization of social media analytics. Research findings reveal that the effectiveness of social media-based educational marketing is greatly influenced by content quality, audience engagement, and the ability of human resources to professionally manage digital platforms. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening planned, integrated, and sustainable social media-based educational marketing management as a strategic strategy to increase the attractiveness and existence of educational institutions amidst increasingly competitive competition.
