Abstract

Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) constitutes a significant component of the Islamic intellectual tradition and has continuously developed in response to the social, intellectual, and historical dynamics of the Muslim community. This article aims to examine the historical development of Qur’anic exegesis during the era of the tābi‘īn and the early period of codification, as well as its contribution to the growth of Islamic scholarship. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, emphasizing historical and descriptive-analytical analysis of classical and contemporary tafsir literature. The findings indicate that during the era of the tābi‘īn, Qur’anic interpretation was predominantly characterized by tafsir bi al- ma’thūr, which relied on the Qur’an itself, the Prophetic traditions (hadith), and the reports of the Companions, although limited forms of ijtihād began to emerge in response to the increasingly complex needs of the Muslim community. The development of tafsir during this period was also marked by the emergence of tafsir schools in various Islamic regions, such as Mecca, Medina, and Iraq, each exhibiting distinctive interpretative tendencies. Furthermore, the early codification of Qur’anic exegesis represents a crucial milestone in the history of tafsir, as it played a vital role in preserving the authenticity of interpretation, expanding the transmission of knowledge, and laying the foundation for tafsir as an independent and systematic scholarly discipline. Thus, the era of the tābi‘īn and the early codification period constitute fundamental phases that shaped the direction, methodology, and scholarly tradition of Qur’anic exegesis within the Islamic intellectual heritage.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low critical thinking ability in the Pancasila Education subject of fifth-grade students of SD. This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on students' critical thinking abilities. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a population of 78 students and a sample of 52 students. Data collection techniques used tests and non-tests in the form of observation sheets. Hypothesis testing used a simple linear regression test analysis with the results of Fcount > Ftable, namely 26.623> 4.26, and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the use of the discovery learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in the Pancasila Education subject of fifth-grade students of SD.

Abstract

English language teaching in rural schools often encounters substantial challenges that hinder effective learning. This study investigates the challenges and strategies of English language teaching at UPT SMPN Satu Atap Kebun Tinggi, located in Kampar Kiri Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving four key informants (an English teacher, a student, a school management staff member, and the vice principal), classroom observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by methodological triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings indicate four major challenges: inadequate learning facilities, students’ low self-confidence in using English, geographical barriers affecting school access, and a shortage of qualified English teachers. To address these challenges, the school implemented several strategies, including continuous teacher professional development, adaptive use of available technology, and collaboration with local government and the community. These strategies helped sustain English learning activities despite existing limitations, highlighting the importance of contextual and integrated support for improving English language teaching in rural education settings.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of individual characteristics and organizational culture on elementary school teacher performance with work motivation as an intervening variable. A quantitative approach was conducted at SD Negeri Tugu Utara 15, North Jakarta, involving all 34 teachers through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that individual characteristics do not have a significant effect on work motivation or teacher performance. In contrast, organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on work motivation and teacher performance. Work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, and organizational culture significantly influences teacher performance through work motivation. This study emphasizes the importance of organizational culture in improving elementary school teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of anaerobic threshold (AT) as the main physiological indicator in improving athletic sprint performance and to identify the effectiveness of high-intensity training interventions on metabolic adaptation and speed endurance. The issue raised focuses on the limitations of applying the AT concept in high-intensity but short-duration sprint sports. This study uses a secondary quantitative design through a systematic literature review based on PRISMA guidelines. The analysis was conducted on studies that reported the relationship between AT, repeated sprint training (RST), sprint interval training (SIT), and sprint performance indicators (peak speed, reaction time, and recovery between sprints). The results of the study show that RST and SIT interventions tailored to individual physiological thresholds significantly improve AT, ventilation efficiency, and muscle energy recovery capacity, thereby improving the stability of repeated sprint performance. The increase in AT is proven to be positively correlated with the ability to maintain speed in repeated sprints and reduce power degradation due to lactate accumulation. The study's conclusion emphasizes that AT is an important parameter in the planning and evaluation of physiology-based sprint training. Theoretically, these findings reinforce the metabolic adaptation model in sports physiology, while practically providing guidelines for coaches in designing measurable and efficient training programs. Further research is recommended to develop field-based AT measurement protocols and explore the direct causal relationship between AT changes and specific sprint performance.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of numeracy literacy, learning motivation, and critical thinking skills of elementary school students, which is a problem in the 21st century. The purpose of this research is (1) to test the influence between numeracy literacy and learning motivation with critical thinking skills of Mathematics of Grade IV Elementary School students in Cipedak Village, (2) to test the influence between numeracy literacy with critical thinking skills of Mathematics of Grade IV Elementary School students in Cipedak Village, and (3) to test the influence between learning motivation with critical thinking skills of Mathematics of Grade IV Elementary School students in Cipedak Village The type of research used is quantitative survey research. The population in this study were fourth grade students from 3 public elementary schools in Cipedak Village with a sample size of 183 students. The instruments used were questionnaires and tests. The results of the study showed that the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in Cipedak Village were still low with the results of the Two Way ANOVA test showing that numeracy literacy had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills in mathematics (F = 12.098; p < 0.001), which indicates that students with better numeracy literacy tend to have higher critical thinking skills. In addition, learning motivation also had a significant effect on critical thinking skills (F = 3.185; p = 0.044), although the effect was smaller than numeracy literacy. Furthermore, the study found a significant interaction between numeracy literacy and learning motivation on critical thinking skills in mathematics (F = 6.394; p = 0.002). This finding indicates that students' critical thinking skills will develop optimally if good numeracy literacy is supported by strong learning motivation. Overall, the research model was able to explain approximately 24% of the variation in critical thinking skills, while the remainder was influenced by factors other than the research variables.

Abstract

The decline in the use of Jawa Krama Inggil at the elementary school level has become a serious issue in efforts to preserve culture and shape polite student character. This condition is caused by several factors, such as a lack of student interest, limited instructional time, and a shortage of engaging learning media. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of Jawa Krama Inggil Domino Cards and to analyze the feasibility and attractiveness of this media for fifth-grade students at MI Al-As`ad Diwek Jombang. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The developed media was validated by material experts, media experts, and Javanese language teachers, and was subsequently tested in small and large group trials. The results of the study indicate that the Jawa Krama Inggil Domino Cards received a "highly feasible" rating, with percentages of 94% from material experts, 94% from media experts, and 92% from teachers. Student responses showed a very high level of interest, reaching 94% in small group trials and 96.56% in large group trials. Consequently, this media is declared appropriate, engaging, and effective in improving students understanding, learning motivation, and Krama Inggil language skills while supporting the preservation of local culture.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the differences and the effects of the Game Based Learning (GBL) model assisted by JELAJAH media on students’ conceptual understanding and collaboration skills in grade IV of SDN Lemahireng 01. The problem underlying this research is the low level of students’ conceptual understanding and collaboration skills in IPAS learning, caused by teacher-centered learning models that do not actively engage students. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: class IV A as the control group and class IV B as the experimental group. Data were collected through conceptual understanding tests, collaboration skills questionnaires, and learning implementation observation sheets. The data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test and simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there were differences in conceptual understanding and collaboration skills between students taught using the GBL model assisted by JELAJAH media and those taught using conventional learning. Furthermore, the regression analysis indicated that the GBL model assisted by JELAJAH media had a significant effect on improving students’ conceptual understanding and collaboration skills. Therefore, the GBL model assisted by JELAJAH media is effective in improving the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools, particularly in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and collaboration skills.

Abstract

The development of learning in the digital era requires instructional media that are not only engaging but also capable of enhancing students’ logical thinking skills at the elementary school level. However, classroom observations in Grade II revealed that students’ logical thinking abilities remain limited, particularly in understanding and using simple vocabulary, as well as teachers’ constraints in utilizing appropriate digital learning media. This study aimed to develop an educational game oriented toward logical thinking skills for Grade II elementary school students and to determine the validity and practicality of the developed product. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The developed product is a web-based educational game created using the Interacty platform, featuring Indonesian language vocabulary related to the school environment and game activities designed based on logical thinking indicators. Data were collected through expert validation sheets (content, language, and media experts) and response questionnaires from teachers and students. The results indicate that the developed educational game achieved a very high level of validity and was categorized as practical for classroom use. Therefore, the educational game is feasible to be implemented as a learning medium to support the development of logical thinking skills among Grade II elementary school students.

Abstract

This study discusses inclusive education management through the implementation of responsive classroom management for students with special needs. Inclusive education in regular schools requires adaptive, equitable, and responsive learning management to address the diverse needs of students, making effective classroom-level management essential. This study aims to analyze the concepts, principles, and strategies of responsive classroom management as part of inclusive education management and its role in supporting effective learning for students with special needs. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were obtained through a systematic review of relevant literature, including academic books, national and international journal articles, educational regulations, and policy documents related to inclusive education and classroom management. Data analysis was conducted by reviewing, categorizing, comparing, and synthesizing conceptual findings from the literature to develop a comprehensive and systematic understanding. The findings indicate that responsive classroom management in inclusive education is characterized by the principles of equity and individualization, differentiated instruction, structured and consistent classroom routines, positive behavior reinforcement, multiparty collaboration, and the use of adaptive learning resources. The application of responsive classroom management contributes to the creation of a conducive learning environment, increased student engagement, and the support of academic as well as socio-emotional development of students with special needs. This study concludes that responsive classroom management plays a strategic role in strengthening inclusive education management and should be used as a foundational approach in planning and managing learning processes in inclusive schools.
