Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in shaping 21st-century character in students' graduate profiles at SD Negeri 23 Ampenan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were fourth and fifth-grade teachers at SD Negeri 23 Ampenan. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that teacher strategies in shaping 21st-century character were carried out through project-based learning, collaborative learning through discussion and group work, role models and character value habits, and character assessment through attitude reports. The implementation of these strategies is reflected in the graduate profiles, including the dimensions of faith and devotion to God Almighty, independence, collaboration, and communication. Supporting factors in shaping 21st-century character include the use of digital media, group work habits, the use of attitude reports, and school environmental support. The inhibiting factors faced by teachers include the lack of character habits in the family environment, differences in student character and independence, and the negative influence of gadget use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) utilization in improving educational quality at SD Islam Cendekia Makassar, a private elementary school that began receiving BOS funds in 2024. The research focuses on three main aspects: (1) planning of BOS fund utilization; (2) implementation of BOS fund utilization; and (3) monitoring and evaluation of BOS fund utilization. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The key informants included the school principal, the BOS treasurer, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with verification. The findings reveal that: (1) Planning was carried out systematically and participatively through data-driven RKAS formulation involving the principal, treasurer, teachers, and foundation manager, with priorities on textbook procurement, assessments, facility maintenance, and library development; (2) Implementation adhered to BOS technical guidelines and positively impacted the availability of learning materials, improved facility conditions, and a more conducive learning environment; (3) Monitoring was conducted through a multilayered mechanism involving both internal and external oversight with orderly reporting via the ARKAS system, although formal periodic evaluation has not yet been systematically implemented. The study concludes that BOS fund management at SD Islam Cendekia Makassar has positively contributed to improving educational quality, though further strengthening of evaluation mechanisms and management capacity remains necessary.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental skill in elementary education as it determines students’ academic success across subjects. However, classroom observations at SDN Inpres VIM 2 Kotaraja indicated that fourth-grade students experienced difficulties in identifying main ideas, making inferences, and drawing conclusions from texts, which reflects the need for more engaging and student-centered learning approaches. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ reading comprehension skills. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 30 students in the experimental class and 28 students in the control class. The instrument was a reading comprehension test covering indicators of identifying main ideas, understanding explicit information, making inferences, and concluding text content. The instrument demonstrated high reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.84. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (t = 5.77; p < 0.001), with the experimental group achieving higher posttest scores. These results indicate that the Problem Based Learning model significantly improves students’ reading comprehension skills and supports the implementation of student-centered learning in the Merdeka Curriculum framework

Abstract

Physics learning in senior high schools still faces several challenges, including the dominance of teacher-centered instruction, limited interactive learning media, and low student engagement. These conditions affect students’ interest and conceptual understanding, especially in kinematics, which is considered abstract. This study aims to develop an interactive e-module based on Articulate Storyline 3 for kinematics material in Grade XI of SMA Negeri 12 Padang and to examine its validity and practicality. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included material and media experts, a physics teacher, and Grade XI students. Data were collected using validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The results showed that the developed e-module achieved a validity score of 92.27% (very valid category) and a practicality score of 85.04% (very practical category). Therefore, the interactive e-module based on Articulate Storyline 3 is feasible to be used as an alternative learning resource to enhance the quality and effectiveness of physics learning.

Abstract

The results of observations, interviews, and a student needs questionnaire conducted at the Ngadipuro 03 Elementary School and Ngeni 04 Elementary School units served as the basis for the researchers' identification of issues related to the lack of available learning media on the basic concepts of standard units. Learning media related to the basic concepts of standard units still utilizes the unit ladder outlined in textbooks. Determining the feasibility of the media was the objective of this study. The media was a standard unit conversion board developed for third-grade elementary school students. Research and Development (R&D), limited to the product trial and revision stages, served as the research method. Data collection tools included questionnaires for validation by material, media, and language experts, as well as questionnaires for teacher and student readability. The validation questionnaire results showed a feasibility score from the material expert of 88%, media expert 82%, and language expert 83%. The results validated by these three experts were categorized as very feasible. The student readability questionnaire achieved a 95% score, and the teacher readability questionnaire achieved a 96% score. Both questionnaire results were in the very appropriate category. Therefore, the standard unit conversion board is suitable for teaching mathematics in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study focuses on efforts to develop students’ religious character through habituation methods at UPT SD Negeri 2 Kepanjenlor, Blitar City. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive design with a case study approach. Data were collected from the school principal, teachers, students, and various supporting school documents. The data collection process involved in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the development of students’ religious character at the school is carried out through routine and structured habituation activities, such as daily prayers, recitation of Asmaul Husna, congregational dhuha and dzuhur prayers, tahfidz activities, and the Bank Central Akhirat (BCA) social program. In addition, the school also organizes religious activities including Ramadan boarding programs, Isra’ Mi’raj commemorations, religious study sessions, donations to orphans, and Qur’an completion ceremonies. All of these programs are integrated with school policies, such as Character Education Strengthening (PPK), the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), and SERENADA (Religious, Nationalist, and Cultured School). The habituation method is considered effective in shaping students’ religious character because it is implemented consistently, systematically, and supported by teacher role models as well as parental involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the socio-economic life of corn farmers in Nagari Geragahan Kampung Tabuah, Lubuk Basung Subdistrict, Agam Regency, during the period 2007–2022 and to analyze the factors influencing the dynamics of farmers’ welfare. The research employed the historical method through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography by utilizing archival records, agricultural statistical data, government documents, and interviews with farmers and related stakeholders. The findings show that during 2007–2017 corn production increased significantly, from an average of 4–6 tons to 10–15 tons, supported by government assistance in the form of seeds and fertilizers as well as relatively high corn prices ranging from IDR 2,000–5,000 per kilogram. This condition contributed to higher household income, improved housing conditions, asset ownership, and better access to education for farmers’ children. However, in the period 2018–2022 production declined by approximately 20% due to land conversion, unstable prices (IDR 2,000–3,000 per kilogram), weather factors, and reduced government support, which affected the economic stability of farming households. Overall, the socio-economic life of corn farmers experienced dynamic changes and continues to face structural challenges in maintaining sustainable welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a collaborative model between schools, families, and communities from an Islamic Education Management perspective as a strategy to strengthen the quality of Islamic education. This study employed a qualitative approach with library research methods through the review and synthesis of various relevant scientific literature. Data were obtained from accredited journals, academic books, and previous research on school-based management, educational partnerships, and community participation. Content analysis was used to develop an integrative conceptual framework. The study's findings indicate that effective collaboration requires participatory planning, ongoing communication, clear role allocation, and the strengthening of religious values ​​as a managerial foundation. The resulting model is conceptual in nature and requires further empirical testing to verify its effectiveness in various Islamic educational institution contexts.

Abstract

The transformation of national education education, marked by the digitalization of learning, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, and the strengthening of 21st century competencies, requires madrasahs to adapt and sustainably reform their governance systems. Madrasahs, as Islamic educational institutions under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, face the challenge of enhancing the competitiveness of graduates without abandoning their Islamic identity. This article aims to analyze the urgency and strategies for sustainable quality management reformulation to enhance the competitiveness of madrasah graduates in the era of national education transformation. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research through analysis of relevant literature related to educational quality management, transformational leadership, and education policy. The study results indicate that quality management reformulation needs to be directed at strengthening a quality culture, optimizing a data-based quality assurance system, developing teacher professionalism, and integrating Islamic values with 21st-century competencies. With systematic and sustainable reformulation, madrasahs can produce graduates who excel academically and religiously, adapt to technological developments, and are competitive in continuing their studies and entering the workforce.

Abstract

Learning in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at the elementary school level requires engaging learning experiences that are relevant to real-life contexts and encourage students’ active participation in the learning process. However, classroom practices often indicate that IPAS instruction remains heavily textbook-centered, resulting in less optimal student learning outcomes. The integration of the STEM approach with the use of Canva as a learning medium represents a strategic alternative that has the potential to enhance creativity, conceptual understanding, and student engagement. This study was conducted to identify the effect of implementing a Canva-based STEM approach on IPAS learning outcomes, particularly on plant material, among fourth-grade students of SDN Pundong 2 Jombang. The research employed a quantitative method using a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The participants consisted of 20 students. The research instrument was a learning achievement test administered before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using a Paired Sample t-test. The findings revealed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the Canva-based STEM learning approach. The results indicate that the use of Canva as a digital design medium through project-based activities significantly enhances students’ understanding of plant structure, the functions of plant parts, and growth processes. Therefore, IPAS learning based on STEM and Canva can be recommended as an effective strategy to improve learning achievement and student participation at the elementary school level.
