Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools is a serious problem that threatens student welfare and disrupts the learning process. In response to this condition, the Indonesian government issued Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Regulation Number 46 of 2023 concerning Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Units. This study aims to analyze elementary school teachers' perceptions of the policy, identify teachers' level of understanding, and describe the implementation of the Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK) at the educational unit level. The study employed a qualitative approach with a single case study design focusing on phenomenology, conducted at SDN Suryalaya 202 Bandung City in October-November 2025. Research subjects were three classroom teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic analysis model. The results show that teachers have a basic understanding of the policy although with varying levels, perceiving the policy as an important legal umbrella and operational guideline. TPPK implementation is still in its early phase with various socialization efforts requiring more structured systematization. The policy has a positive impact on teacher-student interactions and increases awareness of the importance of multi-party collaboration in preventing violence in schools

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of class VA students of SD Negeri 200508 Padangsidimpuan. This study aims to determine whether the use of. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in three cycles and each cycle is held three meetings. Each cycle in this study goes through 4 stages, namely, the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. The subjects in this study were 22 students of class VA SD Negeri 200508 Padangsidimpuan. Data collection techniques used were observation, tests and documentation. Based on the analysis of learning outcome test data in the pre-cycle of 22 students who were the subjects of the study, there were only 5 students or 23% who reached the complete category. Meanwhile, the majority of students, namely 17 people or 77%, were still in the incomplete category. This data shows that the majority of students have not succeeded in achieving the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) which is 76 which has been set. In cycle I, from a total of 22 students, 15 students successfully reached the complete category, while only 7 students with a percentage of 32% were still in the incomplete category. This data shows that Cycle II still needs to be carried out with several improvements to the steps and arrangement of media layout. In this cycle II, from a total of 22 students, all completed with a percentage of 100%, so it can be concluded that learning in cycle II learning outcomes have been completed. The conclusion in this study is that through the Use of Interactive Flip Panel Display (IFPD) and Electric Miniature Media can improve the learning outcomes of Science on electricity material for Grade V students of SD Negeri 200508 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds a strategic role in shaping the character, morality, and religious awareness of students, particularly in public schools that are increasingly influenced by modernization and secular cultural currents. However, its implementation continues to face various challenges that hinder its effectiveness. Based on the analysis presented in this paper, these challenges include internal issues such as limited instructional time, low student motivation, insufficient teacher competence, and a lack of supporting facilities. External challenges involve weak family involvement, the influence of global secular culture, unsupportive school environments, and policies that do not adequately prioritize religious activities. This study aims to examine the forms of PAI-related problems in public schools, analyze their impact on students’ spiritual and moral development, and propose strategic solutions to strengthen PAI implementation. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review and document content analysis, the study reveals that these challenges lead to declining religious awareness, reduced motivation for worship, value disorientation, and identity crises among students. The findings emphasize the need to enhance teacher professionalism, promote innovative and technology-based instructional methods, optimize religious extracurricular programs, strengthen collaboration between schools, families, and communities, and reinforce curriculum policies that support religious education. This study contributes to the development of an integrative and adaptive PAI learning model suited to the challenges of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the use of Smartbox media influences students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Changes in the States of Matter in the IPAS subject among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 58 Palembang. The main issue in teaching IPAS lies in the abstract nature of the topic, which is difficult for students to understand without concrete learning media. This research employed a quasi-experimental method. The study involved 56 students who were divided into two groups of 28 each. The Experimental Group used Smartbox media, while the Control Group received instruction through conventional methods. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments, each consisting of 25 items. The analysis revealed a significant difference in the improvement of learning outcomes between the two groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The Experimental Group that used Smartbox achieved an average score of 19.61, while the Control Group obtained an average score of 5.21. The considerably higher improvement in the experimental group indicates that Smartbox media is more effective in enhancing learning outcomes compared to conventional approaches. Smartbox provides a positive and significant impact on students’ understanding of changes in the states of matter by offering direct, concrete, interactive, and enjoyable learning experiences that promote student engagement and enthusiasm. Therefore, it can be concluded that Smartbox media is effective in improving students’ achievement in the Natural and Social Sciences subject at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Legal science occupies a unique and complex position in the classification of knowledge disciplines. This article aims to provide a systematic explanation of the definition and objectives of legal science, as well as to elaborate comprehensively on the characteristics of legal science both as a normative and empirical science. Using a literature review methodology, this study examines various perspectives from leading legal scholars regarding the nature of legal science. The findings indicate that legal science has a sui generis character that distinguishes it from other sciences, with a dual approach inherent in it: as a normative science that studies legal norms and as an empirical science that examines the functioning of law in society. As a normative science, legal science is prescriptive in nature, focusing on the validity and applicability of legal norms through rechtsdogmatiek or legal dogmatics. Meanwhile, as an empirical science, legal science is descriptive, studying law as a social phenomenon through sociological, anthropological, and psychological approaches. Legal science has theoretical, practical, and critical objectives that are essential for the development of legal theory, legal practice, and legal reform. The duality of normative and empirical approaches does not contradict each other but rather complements each other in providing a comprehensive understanding of law. This article concludes that a clear and comprehensive understanding of the nature of legal science is crucial for developing appropriate research methodologies and supporting the development of legal science in Indonesia that is responsive to social dynamics and justice needs.

Abstract

This study investigated students’ perceptions of difficulties in the listening section of the TOEFL among English Education students of FKIP Universitas Riau. The study aimed to identify which listening indicators were perceived as the most difficult by students. A descriptive quantitative method supported by interviews was employed. The participants consisted of 177 English Education students selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from Phillips’ (2001) TOEFL listening indicators and semi-structured interviews to support the quantitative findings. The results revealed that several listening indicators were perceived as highly difficult by the students. Indicators categorized as high difficulty included identifying speakers’ implied meanings, understanding idiomatic expressions, recognizing almost negative expressions, and distinguishing similar sounds. These findings indicate that students experienced significant challenges in comprehending implicit information and specific linguistic features in TOEFL listening tasks. The study suggests that greater instructional emphasis should be placed on these listening indicators to improve students’ listening comprehension skills.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to improve student learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The subjects were fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 060923 Medan Amplas. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles, each consisting of three meetings. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observation of student activities, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model can improve students’ learning outcomes. This is evident in the increase in the average student learning achievement score from 45% in the pre-cycle to 65% in the cycle I and then to 89% in the II cycle. Thus, the implementation of Problem-Based Learning has proven effective in improving the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 060923 Medan Amplas.

Abstract

In reading the Qur'an, an effective learning method is required significantly improve student's abilities to read the Quran. The classical Iqra' method serve as a development and reference method approach that educators apply in the classroom. This research aimed to examine the impact of implementing the classical Iqra' method on enhancing student's Quran ability at SDI Darul Falah Gumelar Lor. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The findings suggest that the classical Iqra' method significantly enhances student's Quran reading abilities and is highly relevant for classroom application. Test results show that he most students (69.2%) demonstrate good hijaiyah letter recognition, 61.5% exhibit good makhraj accuracy, 50% apply basic tajwid correctly, and 57.7% display good reading fluency. Overall, the Quran reading ability of SDI Darul Falah Gumelar Lor students falls into the good category. These findings are expected to enhance the quality of student's reading the Quran, and both teachers and parents provide support to students.

Abstract

The development of digital technology requires universities to adapt to improve the quality of education, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Howeveir, the implementation of learning technology has not been fully optimized due to limited infrastructure, differences in digital literacy between lecturers and students, and the continued use of conventional methods. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning technology and analyze the suipporting factors, obstacles, and their influence on educational quality at the Hasanuddin Islamic Institute (IAIH) in Pare, Kediri. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniqueis through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of a Learning Management System (LMS) and digital learning media has a positive impact on learning effectiveness, academic interaction, and student access to learning resources, particularly in PAI leiarning.

Abstract

Early childhood character education requires the active involvement of various parties, particularly schools, families, and communities. However, in practice, there are still limitations in synergy and optimal empowerment strategies in shaping children's character holistically. This study aims to describe community empowerment strategies in shaping children's character through education at the Sabilal Muhtadin Islamic Integrated Early Childhood Education Center in Banjarmasin, which includes the leadership role of the principal, teacher empowerment, and parental involvement. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with the principal, teachers, and parents as the main informants. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation, while data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that community empowerment in character building for children takes place synergistically and sustainably. The principal implements participatory and collaborative leadership that encourages teacher involvement in the planning and implementation of character education. Teachers serve as role models through the habit of positive behavior and play activities with Islamic values, while parents are empowered through parenting programs, intensive communication, and religious activities. Collaboration between the three parties.
