Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of story problems that focus on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in mathematics learning using the Deep Learning approach in class III of SDN Kebalen 01. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews with teachers and students, then the data was analyzed using a descriptive interpretive method. The results of the study indicate that teachers have implemented the principles of Deep Learning (mindful, meaningful, joyful) and technology in a contextual way, while inserting HOTS-characterized story problems at levels C4 to C6 that are appropriate to the stage of students' cognitive development. These problems have proven effective in encouraging students' ability to analyze, evaluate, and create in solving mathematical problems. This study shows that the combination of the Deep Learning approach and story problems included in the HOTS category is a powerful strategy for building deeper conceptual understanding and improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Environmental awareness is an important part of character education to shape caring behavior towards cleanliness, waste management, and nature preservation. This study aims to describe students' understanding and environmental awareness, the role of teachers, the challenges faced, and the principal's steps in shaping environmental awareness character at UPT SDN 005 Bukit Ranah. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, the research subjects include students in grades III, IV, and V, classroom teachers, and school principals. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that most students have good environmental awareness, such as throwing garbage in its place, caring for plants, and preserving the environment. Teachers play an important role in shaping these habits through exemplary and habituation, although they still face facility and supervision constraints. The principal supports through the Clean Friday program and environmentally friendly canteen. In conclusion, environmental awareness is formed through consistent cooperation between students, teachers and school authorities.

Abstract

This research discusses the effectiveness of using Kahoot! as a learning medium to improve the learning motivation of fifth-grade students in the IPAS subject. The study was conducted through a literature review approach by examining various relevant recent studies. The synthesis results show that Kahoot! is able to create a more engaging learning atmosphere through elements of games, challenges, and immediate feedback. Data gathered from the analyzed studies indicate a significant increase in learning motivation after the implementation of Kahoot!, although its level of effectiveness falls into the moderate category. The improvement is particularly evident in students’ enthusiasm, active participation, and their drive to understand the material more deeply. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of Kahoot! is still influenced by several factors, such as device readiness, network quality, quiz design, and the teacher’s role in facilitating the activity. These findings reinforce that Kahoot! can serve as a relevant and adaptive learning medium that supports the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, especially in strengthening the learning motivation of elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 016 Bukit Ranah. This study aims to improve students' problem-solving abilities by using the Role playing model. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research time was carried out in July 2025. The subjects of this study were 16 fifth-grade students of UPT SDN 016 Bukit Ranah consisting of 3 boys and 6 girls. Data collection techniques were in the form of observation and documentation. The results of the study indicate that using the Role playing model can improve students' problem-solving abilities. This is shown before the study, students' problem-solving abilities were 25%, then in cycle I meeting I increased to 43.75%, cycle 1 meeting II increased to 56.25%. Furthermore, in cycle II meeting I increased to 68.75%, and cycle II meeting II increased to 87.5%. Thus, it can be concluded that using the role-playing model can improve students' problem-solving skills at the UPT SD Negeri 016 Bukit Ranah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai in the Indonesian language subject. The study aims to improve students’ narrative writing skills by using the Concept Sentence learning model. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method consisting of two cycles. The research subjects were 15 fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai. Data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and documentation. The research instruments included teacher and student activity observation sheets, as well as narrative writing skill tests. The data analysis technique used was descriptive. The results showed an improvement in students’ narrative writing skills. In the pre-action stage, the students’ average score was 36.33 with a learning mastery of 20%. After the implementation of the first cycle, the average score increased to 64 with a learning mastery of 33.33%. In the second cycle, the average score further increased to 82 with a learning mastery of 80%. This improvement indicates that the Concept Sentence learning model is effective in enhancing students’ narrative writing skills. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the Concept Sentence learning model can improve students’ writing skills in the Indonesian language subject for fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai.

Abstract

The background of this study arises from the low level of reading and writing literacy among students, which requires innovative efforts in elementary schools to strengthen the culture of literacy from an early age. This study aims to analyze the implementation of innovative literacy programs at SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota and their impact on students’ literacy skills. The study employed a qualitative approach. The population consisted of all lower-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota, totaling 581 students, and the sample was randomly selected using simple random sampling through a lottery from each grade level (Grades I, II, and III), namely Grade 1 Jabal Rahmah, Grade 2 Andalusia, and Grade 3 Khandak. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires distributed to students in Grades I, II, and III. The results showed that the literacy program was implemented in a planned and sustainable manner through activities such as 15-minute reading sessions, reading corners, syllable cards, daily literacy journals, “Inspirational Classes,” and short story writing competitions. The strategies applied by teachers, supported by the principal, parents, and the community, created a participatory and enjoyable literacy-rich environment. The findings also revealed challenges, including limited time, limited reading materials, varying student abilities, and uneven parental involvement. To address these challenges, the school took several measures, such as enhancing teacher capacity, collaborating with libraries and reading communities, and providing engaging literacy activities. Overall, the innovative literacy program successfully fostered students’ interest, reading and writing skills, and a positive literacy culture.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning activity of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 020 Ridan Permai in the IPAS subject. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of student learning activity through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are 18 fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 020 Ridan Permai. The research instruments used include teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, student activity sheets (LKPD), and documentation. These instruments are designed to assess activity indicators, including: actively participating in completing tasks, engaging in problem-solving, asking questions to teachers or peers, seeking relevant information, and discussing in groups. The results of the research show an increase in student learning activity from pre-action to cycle I by 4.8%, and an increase from cycle I to cycle II by 6.47%. Thus, overall, the increase in student learning activity reaches 11.27%. The application of the Problem Based Learning model has been proven to enhance the learning activity of elementary school students. Therefore, the application of this model needs to be consistently continued, and teachers require ongoing support to be able to implement the steps of PBL correctly according to the learning objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of students' participation in Islamic Spiritual Extracurricular activities (Rohis) on the formation of confident character in SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. The research uses a quantitative approach with the research subject, namely students who actively participate in Rohis' extracurricular activities. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a saturated sampling method, so that all members of the population totaling 80 students are used as research samples. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire instrument in the form of a Likert scale that has gone through validity and reliability tests to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the data. Data analysis was carried out using linear regression techniques. The results of the study show that Rohis extracurricular activities have a significant effect on the confident character of students, This finding indicates that Rohis extracurricular not only functions as a means of religious coaching, but also has a real contribution in strengthening the confident character of students.

Abstract

Learning is a process that requires specific methods, media, and strategies to improve student learning outcomes. One form of digital-based learning media used in this process is e-modules. Learning media serves as a means for educators to deliver material more effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the use of e-modules affects student learning outcomes. Based on several previous studies, it was found that e-modules have a positive impact on improving learning outcomes. This research was conducted using a literature review method of scientific articles from Google Scholar published between 2019 and 2023. In general, the results indicate that e-modules have a significant impact on student learning outcomes, as demonstrated by the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of their use. With the digitalization of learning, the use of e-modules makes the learning process more engaging and less monotonous, thereby increasing student interest in learning and impacting learning outcomes, particularly at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Baamboozle Game learning media in Social Studies (IPS) instruction for Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. The background of this study is based on the low level of student activeness and learning outcomes resulting from the use of conventional teaching methods that lack variation. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The research subjects were Grade VIII students who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using statistical tests to identify differences in learning outcomes between the two classes. The results indicate that the use of Baamboozle Game media has a positive effect on student activeness and learning outcomes. Students in the experimental class showed a higher improvement in learning outcomes compared to those in the control class. In addition, the learning atmosphere became more interactive, enjoyable, and encouraged active student participation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Baamboozle Game learning media is effective for Social Studies instruction in Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. This media is recommended as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of Social Studies learning in junior high schools.
