Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts of fourth grade elementary school students. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning models assisted by animated video media on the understanding of mathematical concepts of fourth grade elementary school students. This study uses the Quasi Experiment Group Design method with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The study population was 42 students, as well as a sample consisting of students in grades IVA and IVB through saturated sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through tests, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in the experimental and control classes. This is evidenced by the significance value of the Independent Samples T-Test of 0.009 <0.05. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning model with animated video media affects the mathematical concept understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This implementation was motivated by the low narrative writing skills of students in the Indonesian language subject at SDN 006 Pasir Sialang, Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency. One solution to overcome this problem is to apply the Write Around learning model. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Write Around learning model to improve the skills of writing narrative essays assisted by picture media. This research method is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, reflection, and research time from May 2025. The subjects of this study were 25 class V students, with 15 boys and 10 girls. Collection techniques in the form of documentation, observation and tests. The results of the study can be concluded that the skill of writing narrative essays using the Write Around learning model for class V SDN 006 Pasir Sialang in cycle I was classified as good with an average of 76,96. Furthermore, of the 25 students, only 21 students completed the classical learning completeness, while 84%. In cycle II it was very good with an average of 88, and out of 25 students there were 25 people who completed it while the classical learning mastery was 100%. Thus it can be concluded that using the Write Around learning model can improve the skills of writing narrative essays for class V SDN 006 Pasir Sialang.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar masih menghadapi permasalahan berupa rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa karena pembelajaran cenderung berorientasi pada hafalan dan kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam dalam mengembangkan pemahaman konsep IPAS pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, refleksi siswa, dan dokumentasi pembelajaran. Pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam diterapkan melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan inkuiri ilmiah yang mendorong siswa untuk mengamati, bertanya, melakukan eksperimen, dan merefleksikan hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu, serta membantu siswa memahami konsep IPAS secara lebih bermakna, khususnya pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya. Meskipun demikian, masih ditemukan beberapa kendala seperti ketergantungan sebagian siswa pada arahan guru dan kemampuan refleksi yang belum merata. Secara keseluruhan, pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan pemahaman konsep IPAS siswa.

Abstract

In the context of basic education, writing skills are the main foundation that students must master. This research is motivated by the low writing skills of students at SDN 14 KTK Solo City where students have difficulty in writing, both in expressing ideas and in organizing writing to be neat and orderly. The purpose of this study is to improve the writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 14 KTK Solok City using the Think Talk Write (TTW) model. Data were collected through observation sheets and test sheets. The results of the study indicate that the optimal implementation of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model can improve the writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 14 KTK Solok City in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. In the first cycle, the percentage of student learning completion was still at 0%, the same as in the pre-cycle stage, with an average score of 55.00. However, in the second cycle there was a very significant increase, where all students achieved learning completion (100%) with an average score increasing to 97.78.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Majelis Taklim in improving the quality of Qur’anic recitation and the understanding of worship practices among congregants in Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City. Majelis Taklim is viewed as a non-formal Islamic educational institution that plays a significant role in fostering religious development within the community, particularly in Qur’anic literacy and daily worship practices. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving administrators, religious instructors (ustadz/ustadzah), and congregants of Majelis Taklim Al-Azhar, At-Taubah, and Ar-Rahman in Kemiling Permai Village. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques to identify the roles, supporting factors, and obstacles in the implementation of religious activities. The findings indicate that Majelis Taklim serves a strategic role as a non-formal educational medium in enhancing Qur’anic reading skills through talaqqi, iqra’, and wafa methods, as well as deepening the understanding of worship practices through regular study sessions, fiqh guidance, and practical training on worship procedures. Supporting factors include high congregational motivation, instructor competence, and strong community social support, while obstacles consist of limited participant time, inadequate learning facilities, and varying levels of congregational ability. The study concludes that Majelis Taklim is an effective and adaptive institution in strengthening religious literacy, fostering Islamic brotherhood, and shaping religious character amid the challenges of modernization.

Abstract

The general objective of this study is "To find out how the poetry writing ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak City". The specific objective of this study is to describe the poetry writing ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak City and to describe the factors that influence the poetry writing ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak City. The type of research used is descriptive research in the form of a case study approach. By using interactive model analysis techniques according to Mines & Huberman The results of the study found that the poetry writing ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak City has not reached the expected level and still requires significant improvement to reach the category of being able to write poetry so that efforts are needed to improve students' poetry writing ability through developing imagination and using creative language styles.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the geographical conditionns of indonesia in the Ring of Fire area, which requires the systematic integration of disaster education from an early ago. Phenomena in the field show that elementary school students’ understanding of disaster mitigation is often still abstract and difficult to internalize due to delivery methods that tend to be monotonus and conventional. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of flashcard media in improving cognitive understanding and building the mental readiness of grade IV elementary school students in facing the threat of earhquakes. The research method applied is qualitative descriptive to provide a systematic overview of the learning phenomenon at SD Negeri 1 Muktisari Banjar city. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation techniques, in- depth interview with homeroom teachers, and documentation studies. The validity of the data is ensured through triangulation and membercheck techniques to ensure the objectivity of the findings. The results of the study revealed that the use of flashcard media was able to bridge the limitations of space and physical simulation facilities in schools.The visual and interactive characterististics of these media have proven to be effective in accelerating the undertanding of techning terms as well as complex safety procedures through multisensory stimulation. The integration of this media in the learning procesess was found to be able to increase the active involvement of students compared to the use of conventional text. The positive impact resulting from this intervention is the formation of self- efficacy and a solid mental foundation in stundents. Through a clearer understanding of risk, students feel more empowered to take calmly and measurable self-rescue actions, so that the rist of psychological trauma due to disasters can be optimally suppressed from an early age.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a 21st-century skill that must be developed since elementary school. However, the development of this ability is still not optimal due to the use of learning media that is less varied and conventional. This study aims to determine the effect of wordwall media on the critical thinking ability of fifth-grade students at the UPTD SDN Mano'an 3 Bangkalan. The method used is quantitative with a Quasi Eksperimental Posttest Only Non-Equivalent Group Design. The study involved 30 fifth-grade students, selected by total sampling, with two groups of students as research samples. The experimental group used wordwall learning media, while the control group used conventional learning. Data collection was carried out through a critical thinking ability test covering 3 indicators of critical thinking, namely focusing on questions, analyzing arguments, and determining an action. The research instrument used essay-based posttest questions. Data were analyzed using statistical test using IBM spss 21. The results of the study showed that the average critical thinking ability of students in the experimental group. Students who learned using wordwalls were better able to understand the core of the problem, analyze informatiom or provide logical reasons, and determine answers based on appropriate considerations. Wordwall media provides opportunities for students to learn actively, try again when making mistakes, and receive direct feedback. In conclusion, the use of wordwall media has a positive effect on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at the UPTD SDN Mano'an 3 Bangkalan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital multimedia scrapbook on the material of the parts of the eye for fifth-grade students of SDN Sambiroto 1. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The subjects in this study were fifth-grade students of SDN Sambiroto 1 with a total of 20 students. The results showed that the developed media was in the very valid category with an average percentage of 86.5% based on the assessment of material experts and media experts. The media was also declared very practical, indicated by a positive teacher response of 89% and an average student response of 98%. From the effectiveness aspect, all students achieved learning completeness with 100% classical completeness after using the media. Thus, the digital multimedia scrapbook on the material of the parts of the eye was declared suitable for use in learning because it had met the standard criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.
THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE USE OF TIKTOK BY ENGLISH STUDY PROGRAM STUDENTS FKIP UNIVERSITAS RIAU AND THEIR ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION

Abstract

This study examined the correlation between the use of TikTok and academic procrastination among fifth-semester English Study Program students at Universitas Riau. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 55 students through the questionnaires by using Procrastination Assessment Scale for Students (PASS) and Social Media Use Scale (SMUS). Statistical analysis using Pearson Product Moment Correlation revealed a strong correlation (ρ = 0.688) with a significance value of p= 0.000 indicating there is a significant positive relationship between the use of TikTok and academic procrastination. These findings showed that when the use of TikTok increases, the level of procrastination also increases. The study recommends that educators can provide guidance on digital well-being and clear deadline also constructive feedback can help to reduce the habit of academic procrastination. In addition, flexible deadlines for more complex assignments are recommended while minimizing procrastination.
