Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the talaqqi method in improving the quality of Quranic memorization among students at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Al-Mawaddah region. The research employed a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the talaqqi method is effective in enhancing reading accuracy, improving memorization fluency, and strengthening concentration, memory, learning motivation, and self-confidence of the students. The success of implementation is influenced by the competence and dedication of the instructors, support from guardians, and a conducive pesantren environment. Inhibiting factors include limited learning time, emotional instability, and academic workload, requiring adaptive strategies. The findings confirm that the talaqqi method not only contributes to improving memorization quality but also supports cognitive, emotional, and spiritual development. This study recommends integrating the talaqqi method into the tahfizh curriculum across various levels of Islamic education for optimal outcomes

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan anak usia 4–5 tahun dalam menirukan gerakan salat di KB Cahaya Bunda Desa Teluk Pauh Kecamatan Pangean Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Pembelajaran yang dilakukan sebelumnya belum menggunakan media yang menarik sehingga anak kurang memahami urutan gerakan salat dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan gerakan salat anak melalui penggunaan media gambar berseri. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 anak usia 4–5 tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan perhitungan persentase perkembangan anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar berseri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan gerakan salat anak. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata anak pada pra tindakan sebesar 5,3, kemudian meningkat pada siklus I pertemuan I menjadi 5,8, siklus I pertemuan II menjadi 7,1, siklus II pertemuan I menjadi 10, dan pada siklus II pertemuan II mencapai 13. Selain itu, anak menunjukkan respon yang positif dan antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, media gambar berseri terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan gerakan salat anak usia 4–5 tahun.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the learning difficulties experienced by eighth-grade students in Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 4 Kupang Tengah. The study was conducted in a context characterized by strong cultural traditions, limited family support, and diverse economic conditions, all of which affect students’ academic performance in the classroom. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving teachers, students, parents or guardians, the school principal, and individuals responsible for instructional planning. The findings reveal that students’ learning difficulties are influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include physiological aspects—particularly visual impairments—as well as psychological aspects such as low motivation, limited interest in Social Studies, and a lack of self-confidence in participating in the learning process. External factors encompass the family environment, the school learning climate, and the availability of learning facilities and resources. The family environment exerts a significant influence, especially due to parents’ busy schedules, economic constraints, and cultural or traditional obligations that demand considerable time, thereby limiting effective supervision and learning support at home. In addition, monotonous teaching methods, peer-related distractions, and inadequate availability of instructional materials further exacerbate students’ learning challenges in the classroom. This study underscores the importance of affective aspects in the learning process, including students’ willingness and engagement in learning activities. Therefore, it is recommended that schools and parents strengthen their collaboration, implement varied teaching methods, create a conducive learning environment, and provide support tailored to the individual characteristics and learning needs of each student.

Abstract

This study explores the opportunities and constraints of implementing role-play as a speaking practice technique in a non-formal English course “EEC” in Sidoarjo city, Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative design, the study focuses on beginner level learners who initially demonstrated low motivation and limited confidence when speaking English. Data were collected through classroom observation during a role-play session and short post-activity interviews. Findings indicate that role-play created opportunities for (1) increased willingness to speak, (2) more expressive and spontaneous interaction, and (3) improved learning engagement because students experienced speaking as a meaningful social task rather than a test of grammatical accuracy. At the same time, constraints emerged, including limited vocabulary, frequent pauses before speaking, short speaking turns (approximately 15 seconds per role), uneven participation (dominant versus passive learners), and ongoing grammar and pronunciation issues. The study argues that role-play can function as a supportive bridge from controlled speaking to more authentic communication for beginners, but it requires deliberate scaffolding such as pre-task vocabulary support, clear role cards, confidence-building routines, and teacher feedback that prioritize intelligibility and interaction. Practical implications are offered for course teachers who aim to maximize speaking time, balance participation, and reduce anxiety during communicative practice.

Abstract

Speaking anxiety is a significant challenge for pre-service teachers in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. This study explores the causes of speaking anxiety as well as the coping management art utilized by pre-service teachers during their teaching practicum. Using a descriptive inquiry approach, data was collected from ten participants through an open-ended general inquiry. Findings indicated that the causes of anxiety included lack of confidence, fear of being wrong, student judgment, cultural disparities, and classroom management. To reduce anxiety, participants used cognitive, metacognitive, and social tactics, such as speech preparation, relaxation, peer support, and self-reflection. This research highlights the importance of integrating the management art of anxiety management into teacher education programs to improve teaching effectiveness as well as self-efficacy among future educators.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I sekolah dasar yang dipengaruhi oleh kurang tepatnya metode dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh metode reading aloud berbantuan media flashcard dan ketepatan intonasi terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I SD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest–posttest control group design.Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas I pada SD Negeri 41 Sangkir dan SD Negeri 54 Garagahan, Kecamatan Lubuk Basung, Kabupaten Agam, tahun ajaran 2025/2026.Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, dengan kelas I SD Negeri 41 Sangkir sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas I SD Negeri 54 Garagahan sebagai kelas kontrol.Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan membaca permulaan dan lembar observasi ketepatan intonasi.Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas dan homogenitas sebagai uji prasyarat, uji Mann–Whitney untuk pengujian hipotesis pertama dan kedua, serta uji Kruskal–Wallis untuk hipotesis ketiga.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan metode reading aloud berbantuan media flashcard terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,006 < 0,05; (2) terdapat pengaruh signifikan ketepatan intonasi terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 < 0,05; dan (3) tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan secara simultan antara metode reading aloud berbantuan media flashcard dan ketepatan intonasi terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. sebesar 0,513 > 0,05. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa intonasi bersifat individual dan dipengaruhi oleh kesiapan fonologis serta kemampuan menyimak peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh media grafik organizer dibandingkan media cetak konvensional dalam model pembelajaran inquiry terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV, ditinjau dari kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Metode penelitian menggunakan quasi-experimental design dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian 56 siswa kelas IV SDN 02 Cupak Tangah, terbagi dalam kelompok eksperimen (n=28, media grafik organizer) dan kelompok kontrol (n=28, media cetak konvensional). Data dianalisis menggunakan ANCOVA dan Two-Way ANCOVA dengan pretest sebagai kovariat.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol (F(1,53)=25,424, p<0,001, η²p=0,324). Kelompok eksperimen mencapai rerata lebih tinggi (M=78,31) dibandingkan kontrol (M=71,37), dengan peningkatan 9,7%; (2) Media pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan (F(1,51)=20,518, p<0,001, η²p=0,287), namun kemampuan membaca pemahaman tidak berpengaruh signifikan (F(1,51)=0,014, p=0,907); (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi signifikan antara media pembelajaran dan kemampuan membaca pemahaman (F(1,51)=0,037, p=0,848), mengindikasikan media grafik organizer efektif konsisten untuk semua siswa.Temuan mengonfirmasi keunggulan media grafik organizer dijelaskan melalui Dual Coding Theory (representasi visual-verbal simultan), Cognitive Load Theory (pengurangan beban kognitif), dan Schema Theory (konstruksi pengetahuan terstruktur). Ketiadaan efek kemampuan membaca dan interaksi menunjukkan pembelajaran inquiry kolaboratif dengan scaffolding efektif mengurangi determinasi kemampuan individual, mendukung perspektif distributed cognition. Implikasi praktis: media grafik organizer dapat diterapkan universal tanpa diferensiasi berdasarkan kemampuan membaca siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a puzzle book learning media on the topic of food chains for third-grade elementary school students and to determine the feasibility of the developed media. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects included third-grade students of SD Negeri Kataan, a classroom teacher, and validators consisting of a material expert and a media expert. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the developed puzzle book media obtained a feasibility percentage of 84% from the material expert and 90% from the media expert, with an overall average of 87%, categorized as very feasible. The trial results indicated a student response percentage of 81%, also categorized as very feasible, along with an improvement in students’ learning outcomes based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. Additionally, the teacher’s evaluation showed a percentage of 94%, categorized as very feasible.Thus, the developed puzzle book media is considered feasible to be used as a learning medium and is able to enhance students’ engagement and understanding of food chain concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students' level of understanding of the concept of flat shapes through the application of interactive mathematics learning that utilizes the traditional game of Engklek. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN Sertajaya 05, located in Sertajaya Village, East Cikarang District. This research design was used to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions in improving students' understanding of the concept of calculating the area of flat shapes through contextual learning that relates mathematical material to students' real experiences. Problems found in the field included low student understanding of the concept of area and difficulty in applying mathematical formulas to everyday problems. A total of 30 students were involved as research respondents. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation. The results of data analysis showed that the use of the traditional Engklek game in mathematics learning significantly improved the understanding of the concept of flat shape area in fifth-grade students at SDN Sertajaya 05. In addition, the results of observations showed an increase in student enthusiasm and involvement during the learning process. Learning based on traditional games helped students understand mathematical concepts more concretely and meaningfully, making learning more effective and meaningful.

Abstract

Andi Mulyadi, This thesis discusses "The Application of the Thematic Learning Model to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in the Class VIII 2 Moral Creed Subject at MTs As'Adiayah Wajo Regency" This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII 2 students in the Moral Creed Subject by using Thematic learning model and to find out how to apply the thematic learning model in improving Aqidah Akhlak learning outcomes. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). In this research, the research subjects were class VIII 2 students at MTs As'Adiayah, Wajo Regency with a total of 30 students. The instrument used is observation, namely making direct observations of class VIII 2 students at MTs As'Adiyah Wajo Regency, interviews will be carried out by asking several questions to teachers in the Aqidah Akhlak field of study, and tests in the form of initial tests and final tests in the form of multiple choices. 10 questions. The results of the research that has been carried out show that student learning outcomes have increased. This increase can be seen through the cycles that have been carried out, where in the pre-cycle the average score of students was 63 (fair) with a completion percentage of 40%, then in cycle I the average score was 72.5 (good) with a completion percentage of 66. 66%, in cycle II the average score was 82.83 very good) with a completion percentage of 83.33%.
