Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Indonesian language in terms of representative, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative speech acts in learning interactions in Grade IV at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 8 Maccini, Makassar City. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources consisted of one teacher and twenty fourth-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using triangulation and member checking. The results showed that the use of Indonesian in learning interactions was communicative and effective through five types of speech acts. In the preliminary stage, interactions were dominated by representative and directive speech acts. In the core activities, speech acts became more varied and encouraged student participation. In the closing stage, the teacher used representative, expressive, directive, and declarative speech acts. Observation results indicated an improvement in the use of Indonesian from a moderate to a very good category, creating effective communication and a conducive learning environment

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low understanding of fifth-grade students at SDN Tegalkalong, Sumedang Regency, West Java, in calculating zakat (Islamic tithe), both zakat fitrah and zakat mal. The objectives were to develop the SULTAN NYASAR interactive web-based digital learning media and to test its effectiveness. The research employed Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, combined with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Thirty fifth-grade students (11 male, 19 female) participated. Instruments included a pretest and posttest (each consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions) and a response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and N-Gain. Results showed a significant improvement: mean pretest score = 56.8, mean posttest score = 86.2 (N-Gain = 0.72, high category). Expert validation results showed high validity (content expert: 93.75%; media expert: 92.5%). The website was developed purely using Visual Studio Code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), with coding assistance from AI DeepSeek. The audio recitations were recorded by the researchers themselves, and the background music for the memorization song was downloaded from Google. The features include a user guide aligned with Fiqh learning outcomes (understanding voluntary fasting, zakat, infaq, alms, gifts, halal and haram food and drink), comprehensive material with audio recitations and a memorization song, seven types of zakat calculators, two interactive games, and a Q&A section. The study concludes that SULTAN NYASAR is valid, practical, and effective for teaching zakat calculation in elementary Islamic education. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN Tegalkalong, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat, dalam menghitung zakat (fitrah dan mal). Tujuan penelitian adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran digital berbasis web interaktif SULTAN NYASAR dan menguji efektivitasnya. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE dan desain pre-eksperimen one-group pretest-posttest. Subjek berjumlah 30 siswa kelas V (11 laki-laki, 19 perempuan). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest (masing-masing 10 soal pilihan ganda) serta angket respons siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan dan N-Gain. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan: nilai rata-rata pretest = 56,8, posttest = 86,2 (N-Gain = 0,72, kategori tinggi). Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan kelayakan tinggi (ahli materi: 93,75%; ahli media: 92,5%). Website dikembangkan murni menggunakan Visual Studio Code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) dengan bantuan AI DeepSeek dalam penulisan kode. Audio bacaan Al-Qur'an direkam oleh peneliti sendiri, dan musik latar lagu penghafal asnaf diunduh dari Google. Fitur website meliputi panduan penggunaan yang selaras dengan capaian pembelajaran Fikih (memahami puasa sunah, zakat, infak, sedekah, hadiah, makanan halal haram), materi komprehensif dengan audio dan lagu, tujuh jenis kalkulator zakat, dua permainan interaktif, dan rubrik tanya jawab. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa SULTAN NYASAR valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk pembelajaran perhitungan zakat di pendidikan dasar Islam.

Abstract

The study of Islamic Beliefs and Ethics plays a strategic role in helping students develop faith, piety, and good moral character through a dynamic process of interaction between teachers, students, and their learning environment. The curriculum, which covers aspects of faith as well as praiseworthy and blameworthy moral conduct, is designed to foster an understanding of and practice of Islamic values in their daily lives. However, its implementation is often hindered by a lack of variety in teaching approaches, teachers’ weak mastery of the subject matter, a curriculum that is out of context, unengaging teaching methods, and low student motivation. Therefore, an update to learning strategies and a reinforcement of Pancasila values are necessary to ensure that Akidah Akhlak education can shape a generation that is faithful, of noble character, responsible, and plays a positive role in social and national life

Abstract

The results of the 2022 PISA test indicate that the critical thinking skills of elementary school students remain relatively low. This study aims to analyze the effect of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on students’ critical thinking skills in Science and Social Studies lessons in the sixth grade at UPT SDN Panaikang II. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent group design involving 55 students, consisting of 27 students in the control group and 28 students in the experimental group. The analysis results showed that the mean score for critical thinking skills in the control class increased from 37.50 on the pretest to 47.53 on the posttest, while in the experimental class, there was a more significant increase from 23.66 to 62.05. Furthermore, based on the average scores of all indicators, the control class improved from 34% to 45%, while the experimental class improved more significantly from 20% to 60%. The results of the independent samples t-test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.031, indicating a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class, which suggests that the implementation of the PjBL learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 127 Inpres Moncongloe, Maros Regency. The learning process has not been engaging and has not actively engaged students. Consequently, during the orientation stage, students experience difficulty identifying problems in the story, impacting their writing skills, as they struggle to form words and construct coherent sentences. The purpose of this study is to improve the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 127 Inpres Moncongloe through the implementation of a problem-based learning model. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. The subjects were 35 fifth-grade students at SDN 127 Inpres Moncongloe. Data collection techniques used included teacher and student observation sheets, narrative writing tests, and interviews with teachers and students. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' narrative text writing skills through the problem-based learning model from the completion percentage in cycle I reaching 38.2% with an average value of 59.4 increasing in cycle II with the completion percentage becoming 91.1% and the class average reaching 73.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) know the increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who follow learning with the Problem Based Learning model compared to students who follow learning with the regular learning model, and to (2) see whether or not there is an interaction between the Problem Based Learning model and students' learning styles in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. In this study, a quasi-experimental method was used. The sample in this study were students in grades VII-8 as the experimental class and students in grades VII-7 as the control class. The research instruments used in this study were questionnaires to determine the type of student learning styles and tests. The results of the study showed that (1) the average pretest scores in the experimental class and the control class were 41.58 and 37.67. After the posttest, the average scores in the experimental and control classes increased to 69.96 and 58.25, respectively. The N-Gain score for students in the experimental class was 0.50 and 0.30 for students in the control class. These calculations indicate an increase in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities after being taught using the Problem-Based Learning model. In other words, the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students taught using the Problem-Based Learning model were higher than those taught using the conventional learning model. Furthermore, the existence or absence of an interaction between the Problem-Based Learning model and different learning styles can be seen from the results of the two-way ANOVA test analysis, which obtained an F count of 0.12 and an F table value of 3.159. Because the F count value > F table (4.33 > 3.159), H0 is rejected (there is an interaction between the Problem-Based Learning model and learning styles). This means that the learning model and students' learning styles influence each other.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze supervisory and managerial problems in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly concerning limited learning media and teachers’ limited understanding of the deep learning approach at RA Tahfizh Al-Jannah. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that academic supervision has not been optimally implemented, as it remains administratively oriented and lacks continuous reflective guidance. From a managerial perspective, limitations in strategic planning, resource management, and support for learning media provision hinder the effective implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Furthermore, teachers’ understanding of the deep learning approach remains conceptual and has not been fully integrated into instructional practices that promote critical and meaningful learning. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis of supervision, managerial aspects, and teachers’ pedagogical competence within a Tahfizh-based RA educational setting. The study recommends strengthening reflective academic supervision, enhancing teachers’ professional competence through continuous training, and optimizing school management to support effective curriculum implementation.

Abstract

This research was driven by low student interest and understanding of abstract Science and Social Studies (IPAS) materials, alongside limited innovative digital learning media in elementary schools. Conventional teacher-centered learning often leaves students struggling to analyze contextual problems. This study aims to develop Canva-based e-comic media integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the topic "Economic Conditions in My Region" that is valid and practical for Grade V elementary school students. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjects included expert validators (content, language, and media specialists) and teachers and students from four elementary schools: SDN 05 Mungka, SDN 04 Mungka, SDN 01 Jopang Manganti, and SDN 02 Jopang Manganti. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and validation/practicality questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the PBL-integrated e-comic is highly valid based on expert assessments. In the implementation phase, the media was found to be highly practical, with teacher response rates reaching 90%–94% and student responses 86%–93%. In conclusion, the developed e-comic is feasible and practical as an interactive IPAS learning tool. This research implies that the media provides an effective alternative for teachers to enhance student enthusiasm and conceptual understanding through a problem-solving approach. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Flashcard media on Indonesian vocabulary mastery among second-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 8 Maccini, Makassar. The study employed a quantitative experimental method using a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The sample consisted of 25 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (normality test and paired sample t-test assisted by SPSS). The results showed that the average score increased from 60.00 (pretest) to 80.40 (posttest), with learning mastery improving from 41% to 100%. The implementation of learning was categorized as high to very high (83% and 86%), while student activity was in the very high category (88% and 91%). The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating that the use of Flashcards has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ vocabulary mastery

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of students in the Professional Field Practice Program (PLP) in fostering Qur’an memorization and strengthening the character of students at Tahfizh Putri Hidayatullah Boarding School Batam. The background of this research is based on the importance of student involvement as agents of change in supporting pesantren-based education, particularly in improving the quality of memorization and the development of Islamic character. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that PLP students play an active role as learning assistants, memorization mentors, and role models in character building through routine activities such as muroja’ah (revision), memorization submission, and the habituation of discipline and responsibility values. In addition, the presence of PLP students has a positive impact on increasing students’ learning motivation and the quality of learning interactions. Thus, the role of PLP students is considered effective in supporting the development of Qur’an memorization and students’ character. This study recommends strengthening collaborative programs between higher education institutions and Islamic boarding schools to improve the quality of education in a sustainable manner.
