Abstract

This study aims to examine the efforts made by teachers at the Al-Muhajirin TPQ in Kalongan Village, Semarang Regency, to improve students’ Quran reading skills, along with the supporting factors and obstacles. This is a field study using a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study include teachers/ustadz as primary informants, TPQ administrators, and parents as supplementary informants. Data were collected through a triangulation of methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s theory, which involves data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The research findings indicate that the students’ proficiency in reading the Qur’an at TPQ Al-Muhajirin remains in the transitional and developmental stages, with a primary focus on improving the clarity of articulation (makharijul huruf) and the fluency of recitation (at-tartil). Teachers have implemented various initiatives, including enhancing their own competencies through correction (tashih) and instruction (talaqqi) activities. The sorogan and classical teaching techniques were also applied. Teachers also implemented collaborative learning methods such as Yanbu’a, Tilawati, and Ummi to enhance the effectiveness of learning. Additionally, teachers routinely conducted evaluations and monitoring to track the progress of students’ abilities. Supporting factors include high student motivation, teacher commitment, and a conducive learning environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include variations in students’ ability levels, inconsistent attendance, and the advancement of digital technology and the use of electronic devices that divert focus from learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Makassar Lontara script word-card learning media on the reading skills of third-grade students at SDI Limbung. The research problem was the low reading ability of students in the local language subject, particularly in reading the Lontara script. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 22 students. Data were collected through tests and observations. The results showed an improvement in students’ reading skills after the implementation of the word-card media. The average pretest score of 61.14 increased to 88.64 in the posttest, while learning mastery improved from 18.18% to 81.82%. Observation results indicated that both teacher and student activities reached 90%, categorized as very good. Hypothesis testing using the t-test showed a t-value of 12.91 and a critical t-value of 2.080 at a significance level of 0.05. Since the t-value was higher than the critical t-value, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Makassar Lontara script word-card media had a significant effect on students’ reading skills and supported the preservation of local culture in elementary schools.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the integration of 21st-century skills based on the 4Cs (critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration) and digital literacy in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction, as well as its impact on strengthening students’ character. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review of various relevant national journals. The results of the study indicate that the integration of 4C skills and digital literacy in PAI instruction enhances students’ critical thinking abilities in filtering religious information, fosters creativity in expressing Islamic values through digital media, and strengthens communication and collaboration skills grounded in Islamic values. Furthermore, digital literacy plays a crucial role in fostering religious moderation, digital ethics, and responsible technology use. This integration has also been shown to significantly contribute to strengthening students’ religious character, tolerance, and noble moral values. Thus, PAI instruction that integrates 21st-century skills and digital literacy serves as an effective strategy for addressing educational challenges in the digital age.

Abstract

This research is driven by the importance of literacy within the Kurikulum Merdeka framework, where reading comprehension skills serve as a primary determinant of academic success for elementary school students. The study aims to comprehensively describe the level of reading comprehension in descriptive text materials among fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Pananjung. A descriptive quantitative method with a survey design was employed. The research population consisted of all 29 fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Pananjung, who were selected as respondents through a total sampling technique. The research instrument utilized a questionnaire constructed based on literal, inferential, and evaluative reading comprehension indicators. Descriptive statistical techniques were used for data analysis to determine frequency distribution and student percentage levels. The findings indicate that the majority of students possess reading comprehension skills in the high category, specifically 22 students (75.9%). Meanwhile, 6 students (20.7%) were in the medium category, and only 1 student (3.4%) was in the low category. These results reflect that the fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Pananjung are capable of integrating both literal and in-depth textual understanding of descriptive texts, suggesting the effectiveness of the literacy instructional process at the school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and content marketing on customer engagement for the Wardah brand on the TikTok platform, specifically in Samarinda City. The background of this research is based on the increasing competition in the cosmetics industry and changes in increasingly digital consumer behavior, requiring companies to optimize marketing strategies based on social values ​​and digital content. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 150 respondents who were TikTok users, Wardah consumers, and had interacted with Wardah's CSR content and programs. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results showed that CSR and content marketing, both partially and simultaneously, had a positive and significant effect on customer engagement. The content marketing variable had a more dominant influence than CSR, with a regression coefficient of 0.636, while CSR was 0.331. Simultaneously, the two variables were able to explain 84.5% of the variation in customer engagement. These findings indicate that a creative, relevant, and interactive content strategy on TikTok is a key factor in increasing consumer engagement, while CSR plays a crucial role in building trust and a positive brand image. Therefore, companies are advised to integrate CSR programs with content marketing strategies to sustainably increase customer engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ participation and learning outcomes in mathematics, particularly on plane geometry material, through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by visual media. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 108/IV Kota Jambi involving 24 fifth-grade students using Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The initial condition showed low student participation (51.3%) and low learning mastery (47.4%), indicating the need for instructional improvement. In Cycle I, the application of PBL with visual media began to show positive results, with student participation increasing to 68.4% and learning mastery reaching 63.2%, although it had not yet met the success criteria. Improvements were then made in Cycle II by optimizing group work, instructions, and the use of visual media. The results showed a significant increase in student participation to 86.8% (very good category), followed by improved learning outcomes that met the expected mastery criteria. These findings indicate that the implementation of the PBL model combined with visual media effectively enhances both student participation and learning outcomes in learning plane geometry. Therefore, this approach can be used as an alternative strategy to create more active, meaningful, and effective learning in elementary mathematics.

Abstract

The development of digital learning technology requires effective innovation to support more concrete conceptual understanding, particularly in electricity topics at the elementary school level. Science (IPAS) learning on simple electrical circuits still requires tools that can clearly and systematically demonstrate experimental processes. This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of a live-action instructional video entitled “Assembling an Electric Lamp Powered by a Battery” for fifth-grade elementary school students. The methodology employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Data were collected through observation, literature review, and validation questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale. The validation subjects consisted of three subject matter experts and three media experts. The data were analyzed by calculating the feasibility percentage based on the comparison between the obtained scores and the maximum possible scores. The results indicate that validation by subject-matter experts reached a feasibility percentage of 90%, categorized as highly feasible, while validation by media experts reached 95%, also categorized as highly feasible. The aspects of scientific accuracy, language use, and media integration received excellent evaluations, although there were suggestions for improving the clarity of alignment between the content and the learning objectives. Therefore, the developed live-action instructional video is considered feasible for use as a learning medium in elementary science (IPAS) on basic electricity and has the potential to enhance conceptual understanding through authentic and direct demonstrations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are students who have not yet implemented learning discipline optimally. One of the factors that influence learning discipline is self-awareness. This research aims to (1) describe the level of students' self-awareness, (2) describe the level of students' learning discipline, (3) test the relationship between self-awareness and students' discipline. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational type. The sample of this study was 259 students in grades X, XI, and XII at SMA N 2 Lubuk Sikaping in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study used a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection in the study was carried out using self-awareness and learning discipline questionnaires that have been tested for validity using the Pearson Product Moment formula and reliability using Cronbach Alpha for self-awareness of 0.851 and learning discipline of 0.865. Data analysis used descriptive methods and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results of this study indicate that (1) self-awareness is in the moderate category with a percentage of 57%, and (2) student learning discipline is in the moderate category with a percentage of 59%, and (3) there is a significant positive relationship between self-awareness and student learning discipline at school. This means that the higher the self-awareness, the higher the learning discipline. Self-awareness has an important role in improving student learning discipline. Therefore, developing self-awareness through guidance and counseling services is expected to help improve student learning discipline at school.

Abstract

This study investigates the ability of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Gunung Sari in using past verbs in recount texts. The study was conducted because many students still experience difficulties in applying correct past verb forms when writing about past events. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify students’ level of ability in using past verbs in recount texts, to examine the difficulties they face, and to explore the strategies they use to overcome those difficulties. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through a multiple-choice test as the main instrument, supported by a questionnaire and interviews. The participants of this study were 35 students from class VIII J of SMPN 1 Gunung Sari. The results show that the majority of students have low ability in using past verbs, with 82% of students categorized in the low level, while only 9% are categorized as high ability and 9% as medium ability. The questionnaire results reveal that the main difficulties experienced by students include forgetting the second form of irregular verbs, confusing regular and irregular verbs, and using the present tense instead of the past tense when writing recount texts. Furthermore, the interview results indicate that students try to overcome these difficulties by memorizing verb forms and asking teachers or classmates for help. However, these strategies are still limited and not fully effective in improving students’ grammatical competence. Therefore, more effective and contextualized grammar instruction is needed to help students improve their mastery of past verbs in recount texts.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini guru belum menggunakan media yang mampu menarik minat belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia sehingga siswa kurang antusias dan aktif terhadap proses pembelajaran, siswa masih memiliki kesulitan dalam memahami materi teks narasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran digital storytelling terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas IV MIN 4 Kota Banda Aceh pada materi teks narasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 33 peserta didik kelas IVa yang dipilih secara acak. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes hasil belajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji N-Gain, serta uji Paired Sample t-Test dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 27. Rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan setelah penggunaan media digital storytelling, dengan nilai N-Gain berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil uji Paired Sample t-Test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest dengan taraf signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran digital storytelling efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi teks narasi kelas IVa MIN 4 Kota Banda Aceh.
