Abstract

This study tries to describe Deep Civic Learning based on daily experience in internalizing Pancasila values for primary school children. The research was carried out at SD Islam As Salam, Bendo, Magetan Regency, in September 2025. A qualitative technique was used with a case study design. In-depth interviews with the principal, classroom teachers, Pancasila Education instructors, students, and parents, as well as document analysis, were used to gather data. Data were examined using data condensation, data display, conclusion drafting and verification. The results suggest that Deep Civic Learning is not merely enacted through conceptual explanation in the classroom, but mainly through daily experiences such as morning greetings, collective prayer, queuing, classroom duties, small-group deliberation, sharing learning tools, maintaining cleanliness, and resolving simple conflicts. The main findings reveal that daily experiences become concrete entry points for internalizing Pancasila values, teachers translate abstract civic values into simple actions, school routines establish a cycle of knowing, feeling, acting, and reflecting on values, and the success of Deep Civic Learning is shaped by teacher role modeling, school culture, and family support. This study proposes a conceptual model of Daily Experience-Based Deep Civic Learning as a humanistic and contextual alternative for Pancasila Education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study arose from the problem of first-grade elementary school students who still experienced difficulties in reading, including recognizing letters, pronouncing words, and understanding the content of texts. This condition was caused by low reading interest and the implementation of literacy activities that were still monotonous and lacked the use of attractive learning media. As a result, students were less actively involved in reading activities. Therefore, this study aimed to (1) describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement GLS using interactive e-book media, (2) identify the types of reading difficulties experienced by first-grade students, and (3) examine the role of interactive e-book media in helping to overcome students’ reading difficulties in elementary school. This research employed a qualitative approach with research subjects consisting of first-grade students, classroom teachers, and the librarian at SDN Dr. Soetomo V/327 Surabaya. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that (1) the implementation of GLS through 15-minute reading activities before lessons using interactive e-book media was carried out well, (2) students’ reading difficulties included difficulties in recognizing letters, pronouncing words, and understanding the content of texts, and (3) the use of interactive e-book media increased students’ interest, motivation, and engagement in reading activities, thereby helping to overcome reading difficulties. This media is beneficial for teachers as an innovative alternative for literacy learning and for students in helping them understand reading materials in a more concrete, interesting, and meaningful way.

Abstract

English speaking skills remain a major challenge for many EFL learners, particularly in contexts with limited opportunities for authentic language use. This study investigated the effectiveness of implementing an animation video-based flipped classroom to improve the speaking skills of Thai EFL students at Darul Ma’aref School, Southern Thailand. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 20 students. Data were collected through speaking pre-tests and post-tests and assessed using a speaking rubric covering pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-sample t-test. The findings showed that students’ mean speaking score increased from 9.05 in the pre-test to 14.50 in the post-test. The paired-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two scores (t = -29.52, p < .05), indicating that the implementation of the animation video-based flipped classroom effectively improved students’ speaking skills. These findings suggest that combining animation videos with flipped classroom instruction provides meaningful language input and increases opportunities for communicative practice. The study concludes that animation video-based flipped learning is an effective and culturally relevant approach for enhancing English speaking skills among Thai EFL learners.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) marks a new chapter in data governance in Indonesia, particularly within the rapidly expanding electronic commerce ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the legal framework for the protection of consumers' personal data in e-commerce transactions following the enforcement of the PDP Law, as well as to identify normative gaps that may undermine the effectiveness of such protection. This research employs a normative legal research method with a statute approach and a conceptual approach, utilizing primary legal materials in the form of relevant legislation and secondary legal materials comprising scholarly literature, legal doctrine, and pertinent judicial decisions. The findings reveal that the PDP Law has established a more comprehensive legal foundation than its predecessor regulations, particularly through the codification of the consent principle, data subject rights, and obligations incumbent upon data controllers; nevertheless, several normative disharmonies were identified between the PDP Law and Law Number 11 of 2008 as amended by Law Number 19 of 2016 on Electronic Information and Transactions, as well as Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, with the absence of a functionally operational independent supervisory body during the transitional period constituting a structural impediment to legal enforcement. This study concludes that cross-sectoral regulatory harmonization and the establishment of an effective data protection authority are indispensable prerequisites for the substantive realization of consumer personal data protection in Indonesia's e-commerce transactions.
