Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted to increase the learning engagement of fourth-grade elementary school students in mathematics lessons through a deep learning approach supported by concrete and digital media, prompted by the students’ low learning engagement, as indicated by an average engagement rate of 38% during the pre-cycle phase. The objective of this study was to increase student engagement through the implementation of deep learning stages supported by concrete and digital media. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented over three cycles. The research subjects consisted of 27 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 39 Pontianak Kota during the 2025/2026 school year. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted by calculating the percentage of student learning engagement. The results showed an increase in student learning engagement in each cycle. The average level of learning engagement increased from 38% in the pre-cycle to 54% in Cycle I, 62% in Cycle II, and reached 81% in Cycle III. The highest indicator was the willingness to try practicing, with a percentage of 87% in Cycle III. These findings indicate that a deep learning approach supported by concrete and digital media can increase student learning engagement in mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Classroom management plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the learning process. The success of learning strategies is influenced not only by the selection of appropriate methods but also by the teacher’s ability to manage the classroom. This article aims to examine the role of classroom management in supporting the success of learning strategies through a literature review. The method used is a literature review utilizing various sources, such as books, scientific journals, and articles related to classroom management and learning strategies. The results of the review indicate that effective classroom management can create a comfortable and conducive learning environment, increase student attention and engagement, reduce disruptions during learning, and help teachers implement learning strategies more effectively. Furthermore, effective classroom management can foster positive relationships between teachers and students, making it easier to achieve learning objectives. Therefore, teachers must possess and continuously develop classroom management skills to support successful learning.

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Indonesia, including in the DKI Jakarta region during the 2023–2025 period, has become a crucial phenomenon that threatens the resilience of family institutions and the quality of future generations. This study aims to analyze the role of religious counselors in enhancing Sakinah (harmonious) family literacy through the Marriage Guidance Program Bimbingan Perkawinan (Bimwin) at the KUA (Office of Religious Affairs) of Kembangan Utara District, West Jakarta. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in this research. Data were gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation involving religious counselors acting as facilitators and Bimwin participants who had completed at least one year of marriage. Subject selection utilized a purposive sampling technique, and the collected data were analyzed using narrative analysis. The results indicate that religious counselors play a crucial role as facilitators, mentors, and motivators in building the spiritual, mental, emotional, and financial readiness of prospective bridal couples. To address challenges presented by Generation Z participants and underage couples with marriage dispensations, counselors implement adaptive and interactive approaches, such as two-way communication methods, icebreakers, visual media utilization, and persuasive communication strategies regarding role distribution and conflict management. Through the Bimwin program, religious counselors successfully construct the values of Sakinah family literacy contextually to minimize the risk of prolonged conflict and maintain the sacred commitment of marriage

Abstract

The use of digital assessment in elementary school mathematics learning has not been implemented effectively, resulting in evaluation activities still dominated by conventional methods through written tests. Therefore, the development of a digital assessment that integrates gamification elements with a memorize, recall, and examine framework is necessary. This framework is designed to integrate HOTS-based questions at the cognitive levels of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6) in Bloom's Taxonomy. This study aims to describe the development process, validity level, and practicality of the MRE-based Math Champions Arena digital assessment product for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Ngunut. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Ngunut, Tulungagung Regency. Data collection techniques were interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that the MRE-based Math Champions Arena digital assessment achieved an average validity percentage of 95.8% from media experts and 97.5% from material experts, categorized as very valid. Furthermore, the practicality test obtained an average percentage of 94.1%, categorized as very practical. Thus, the MRE-based Math Champions Arena digital assessment is suitable for use as an innovative digital assessment in mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low accuracy of short serves among badminton athletes at PB. Arham. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hand-eye coordination and wrist flexibility with the accuracy of badminton short serves. This research employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The sample consisted of 15 PB. Arham athletes aged 14–17 years, selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through a hand-eye coordination test, a wrist flexibility test, and a badminton short-serve accuracy test. Data were analyzed using Product Moment correlation and multiple correlation techniques. The results showed a significant relationship between hand-eye coordination and short-serve accuracy (r = 0.882), as well as between wrist flexibility and short-serve accuracy (r = 0.757). Simultaneously, hand-eye coordination and wrist flexibility demonstrated a very strong relationship with short-serve accuracy (R = 0.892). It can be concluded that better hand-eye coordination and wrist flexibility contribute to higher short-serve accuracy among badminton athletes.

Abstract

Bullying is a negative behavior that frequently occurs in our surroundings; it also occurs in schools, which are supposed to be safe and comfortable places for children to pursue their education and develop their character. As times change, digital technology continues to advance to support the education system, making education engaging, relevant, and up-to-date. One example of this is the development of an app to address bullying cases in schools, which can also strengthen character education. Anti-bullying apps serve as a tool for addressing bullying cases that frequently occur in school settings; this makes technology increasingly essential for managing such incidents, particularly as a means of resolving bullying cases. The research method adopted for this study is a qualitative approach, chosen because this study aims to understand the situation regarding bullying at SMP Negeri 43 in Bandung, as well as the process of addressing bullying cases through the BEJAKEUN app. The results of this study indicate that the BEJAKEUN app has a positive impact on students, as evidenced by the decrease in bullying cases at SMP Negeri 43 in Bandung. Additionally, the BEJAKEUN app also contributes to the development of students’ character traits, such as courage and empathy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities between those using the Quizizz-assisted deep learning approach and conventional learning and to determine the improvement in students' mathematical reasoning abilities using the Quizizz-assisted deep learning approach compared to students using conventional learning. This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all grade X students of SMA Santo Yoseph Medan. The sample of this study consisted of two classes, namely class X-3 as the experimental class and class X-2 as the control class, each consisting of 29 students. The research instrument used was a mathematical reasoning ability test that had met the requirements of validity, reliability, discriminating power, and level of difficulty. Data analysis was carried out using the normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain index. The results of this study showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 77.59, higher than the control class of 61.72. The t-test results show that t_count = 5.769 and t_table = 2.045 so that t_count>t_table. In addition, the Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate that there is a difference in mathematical reasoning ability between students who use the quizizz-assisted deep learning approach and students who use conventional learning. The results of the N-Gain analysis show that the average N-Gain of the experimental class is 0.64 and the control class is 0.39, both of which are in the moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the quizizz-assisted deep learning approach provides a higher increase in mathematical reasoning ability than conventional learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the essential competencies needed by students in facing the challenges of the 21st century. However, the development of critical thinking skills is influenced by various factors, including peer relationships and parental support. This study aimed to determine the influence of peers and parents on the critical thinking skills of students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Jambi. The study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design. The population consisted of 223 students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts, while 143 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis. The results revealed that peers and parents had a positive and significant influence on students’ critical thinking skills, both partially and simultaneously. The partial test showed that peers significantly affected critical thinking skills (t = 6.387; p < 0.05), while parents also had a significant effect (t = 5.689; p < 0.05). Furthermore, the simultaneous test indicated that peers and parents jointly influenced critical thinking skills (F = 64.296; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.479, indicating that 47.9% of the variance in critical thinking skills could be explained by peer and parental factors, while the remaining 52.1% was influenced by other variables. Therefore, peers and parents play a crucial role in fostering students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher activities and develop children's activities, independence, responsibility, and fine motor skills through the PROCOOP model which is a combination of Project Based Learning and Cooperative Learning. The study used a qualitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was implemented in four meetings. The research subjects were 10 children of Group A PAUD Al-Muttaqin Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques used observations of teacher activities, children's activities, independence, responsibility, and fine motor skills in children. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that teacher activities increased from 62% to 93% with the Very Good category. Children's activities increased from 10% to 100%. Independence skills increased to 70%, responsibility skills reached 90%, and fine motor skills reached 80% at the fourth meeting. Thus, the application of the PROCOOP model has been proven to be able to develop children's activities, independence, responsibility, and fine motor skills in Group A PAUD Al-Muttaqin Banjarmasin.

Abstract

The descriptive writing skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 17 Palembang are still low because the learning process is dominated by lecture methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the STAD learning model on students' descriptive writing skills. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 40 students divided into an experimental class (IV C) and a control class (IV A). Data were collected using an essay test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 82.6, higher than the control class which was 69.7. The hypothesis test using the independent sample t-test obtained t_count = 2.775 > t_table = 2.024 and sig. (2-tailed) = 0.009 < 0.05. Therefore, there is a significant effect of the STAD learning model on the descriptive writing skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 17 Palembang.
