Abstract

This study was motivated by the persistence of learning discipline issues among fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education, including non-compliance with school regulations, late assignment submission, failure to bring learning materials, and inconsistent learning habits. These settings highlight the importance of improving pupils' study discipline as part of character education. The study sought to characterize the application of the learning discipline character in Pancasila Education, identify the obstacles faced by teachers, and examine the techniques used to overcome those challenges. The qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. Participants included a fourth-grade teacher, fourth-grade pupils, and parents from SDN Karawaci Baru 6, Tangerang City. Data were gathered by observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drafting. Data credibility was assured using method triangulation. The findings revealed that the implementation of learning discipline character had been effectively integrated into classroom activities through habitual compliance with school regulations, maintaining classroom order, completing and submitting assignments on time, wearing the prescribed school uniform, bringing learning materials, praying before lessons, participating in literacy activities, and teachers' role modeling. The main challenges included students' varying levels of self-awareness, individual differences, and limited parental supervision and habituation at home. To address these challenges, teachers implemented continuous disciplinary habituation, role modeling, motivation, supervision, rewards, educational sanctions, and strengthened communication and collaboration with parents. These efforts contributed to enhancing students' awareness of learning discipline and supported the development of character in accordance with the values of Pancasila.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the essential language competencies that elementary school students need to develop to communicate ideas, opinions, and experiences effectively. However, preliminary observations conducted in Grade III of SDN Inpres Dore indicated that many students experienced difficulties in speaking confidently, organizing ideas coherently, and using appropriate vocabulary during classroom activities. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the role-playing method and to improve students' speaking skills through classroom action research. The study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart classroom action research model, consisting of two cycles, with each cycle including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 13 third-grade students of SDN Inpres Dore. Data were collected through observation, performance tests, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative techniques. Students' speaking skills were assessed based on pronunciation, intonation, fluency, vocabulary use, and self-confidence. The findings revealed that the implementation of the role-playing method successfully improved students' speaking skills. Learning mastery increased from 30.77% in Cycle I to 84.62% in Cycle II, exceeding the predetermined success criterion of 80% of students achieving the minimum mastery standard. In addition, students demonstrated greater participation, confidence, and communication skills during the learning process. Therefore, the role-playing method is considered an effective instructional strategy for improving speaking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the planning, implementation, assessment, and observed outcomes of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) under the Local Wisdom theme through an ecoprint activity among sixth-grade elementary students. A qualitative case-study design was employed at SD Negeri 1 Rumbuk, East Lombok Regency. Informants were selected purposively and included the school principal, the Grade VI-B teacher, and students directly involved in one project cycle. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Credibility was strengthened through source triangulation, method triangulation, and the search for disconfirming evidence. The project was planned through contextual theme selection, module development, scheduling, and facilitator-role allocation. Implementation comprised orientation, contextualization–action, and reflection phases. Assessment combined process observation and product evaluation; school documents reported an average ecoprint product score of 3.58 in the good category, although the rubric was not yet fully standardized. Observed outcomes included greater participation, collaboration, creativity, independence, confidence, and appreciation of local culture and the environment. The study contributes a process–product–character model that positions the ecoprint artefact as one source of learning evidence rather than as a single indicator of character change. The findings remain contextual because the study involved a single case and no longitudinal observation.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) model through a contextual mini research project and to analyze its effect on improving the numeracy literacy skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in one cycle consisting of three meetings. The participants were 27 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through numeracy literacy tests, learning implementation observation sheets, student activity observations, project assessments, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative and qualitative data analyses were conducted by calculating mean scores, learning mastery percentages, and normalized gain (N-Gain) scores, supported by descriptive analysis. The findings revealed that students’ average numeracy literacy score increased from 32.1% in the pretest to 74.1% in the posttest, representing an improvement of 42.0%. Learning mastery also increased from 25.9% to 77.8%, exceeding the predetermined success criterion of 75%. The calculated N-Gain score was 0.62, which falls into the moderate category. In addition, the implementation of learning activities improved from 66.7% in the first meeting to 88.9% in the third meeting. The contextual mini research project achieved an average score of 80.2, categorized as good. These findings indicate that the implementation of STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning through a contextual mini research project is effective in improving elementary school students’ numeracy literacy skills

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal implementation of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning at Muhammadiyah Pasar Manna Elementary School in South Bengkulu, as indicated by low student learning outcomes and signs of issues related to physical fitness and learning motivation. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of physical fitness and learning motivation among upper-grade students at the school. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a population consisting of all fourth and fifth-grade students, totaling 27 individuals. The instruments used were the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI) for phase C, which includes the child ball test, tok tok ball test, move the ball test, shuttle run 4x10 meters, and 600-meter run, as well as a learning motivation questionnaire using a Likert scale. The results showed that the students' physical fitness level fell into the poor category with an average score of 12.63, while their motivation level was in the good category with an average score of 152.78. These findings indicate that low physical fitness serves as the main inhibiting factor in PJOK learning, despite the students' motivation being relatively good. In conclusion, efforts are needed to improve physical fitness through the optimization of PJOK instruction and better management of physical activities at school.

Abstract

Digitalization in rural Islamic banking is still hindered by the digital divide and limited public cognitive understanding. This study aims to examine and analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of Sharia Financial Literacy and Perceived Ease of Digital Service on the loyalty of the Dusun Iburaja Community in using BSI Savings. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was applied. The population consisted of BSI customers in Dusun Iburaja, selected using the total sampling technique. Data were gathered through online questionnaires and evaluated using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that partially, Sharia Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty and emerges as the most dominant predictor. The Perceived Ease of Digital Service variable also proves to have a positive and significant partial effect. Simultaneously, both independent variables significantly influence customer loyalty. The combination of these variables explains most of the variation in loyalty, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the model. The study concludes that accelerating financial inclusion in rural areas requires a harmonious synergy between strengthening Sharia value education and simplifying digital platform operations to mitigate customers' psychological anxiety

Abstract

Low environmental awareness and the suboptimal implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in primary schools pose challenges to fostering students' "competence of will" (the motivation and commitment to act). This study aims to analyze the implementation of the ESD-based CINTA Program (Cicing Tenang Tanpa Runtah) in enhancing the participatory competence of primary school students. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed at SDN BL 2, involving 27 students and 10 teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via observation, questionnaires, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with source and technique triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that the CINTA Program successfully integrated the three pillars of ESD environmental, social, and economic into the school culture and learning processes. Program implementation led to an increase in students' competence of will, evidenced by improvements in environmental awareness (from 35% to 85%), responsibility (from 20% to 75%), participation (from 55% to 90%), and eco-friendly behavior (from 35% to 85%). The program also contributed to the development of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills through project-based activities such as waste sorting, waste bank management, and ecobrick production. Thus, the CINTA Program has the potential to serve as an effective ESD-based school culture model for enhancing students' competence of will while supporting the realization of education oriented toward sustainable development.

Abstract

The development of a growth mindset has become an essential aspect of elementary education, as it encourages students to believe that intelligence and abilities can be developed through effort, perseverance, and continuous learning. However, learning practices in schools remain largely focused on academic achievement rather than the learning process, limiting students' motivation and resilience in overcoming challenges. This study aims to examine teachers' strategies for fostering a growth mindset among elementary school students through a review of relevant literature. The study employed a literature review method by analyzing and synthesizing theories and findings from previous studies on growth mindset, the characteristics of elementary school students, teachers' instructional strategies, and the implementation of growth mindset in the learning process. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in fostering a growth mindset by providing process-oriented praise, constructive feedback, encouraging students to view mistakes as learning opportunities, offering challenges that match students' abilities, using positive and motivating language, creating a supportive learning environment, and promoting self-reflection. These strategies are aligned with the student-centered learning approach advocated in the Merdeka Curriculum and contribute to improving students' learning motivation, self-confidence, perseverance, and academic resilience. Therefore, the consistent implementation of appropriate instructional strategies can effectively support the development of resilient, adaptive, and lifelong learners who are well prepared to face future academic and real-life challenges.
