Abstract

This research aims to determine the challenges and gaps in the pedagogical competencies of elementary school teachers in 21st-century learning using the literature review analysis method, by examining previous research results or scientific articles published in national and international journals from 2003 to 2024. In this research, the researchers selected as many as 10 articles were analyzed and conclusions were drawn. Based on the results of the literature review, it was found that the challenges faced by teachers in creating 21st-century learning include curriculum changes, the integration of technology in learning, and the adaptation of new teaching methods or models. Meanwhile, the disparities refer to the differences in teachers' competencies between different groups in their ability to utilize technology in learning. These challenges must be faced together to create progress in the world of education, and the disparities need to be bridged to achieve equality in education.

Abstract

The low level of writing skills in the four grade of SDN sambibuluh, Taman Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency is the background of this research. Description is one type of essay that students must master, especially in Indonesian language subject. However, there are still many students have minimum skill on it. This problem can be known from daily score, they have under minimum score in writing descriptions in Indonesian language subjects which is under 70. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the demonstration method on descriptive writing skills for Indonesian language learning in grade IV elementary school students and to determine student's responses after using the demonstration method on descriptive writing skills. This research is quantitative research using Pre-Experiment method with One Short Case Study Design. This research was conducted in class IV of SDN Sambibuluh, Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. The sample for this research was 25 experimental class students consisting of 10 male and 15 female. This research uses SPSS calculations to obtain results. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that the asymp sig (2-tailed) value was 0.003 < 0.05. According to the basis for decision making in the Wilcoxon test, this means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the demonstration method on the ability to write descriptions in grade IV elementary school students. Class IV students' responses to the use of the demonstration method received good criteria with a presentation of 80%.

Abstract

Low student engagement can hinder their ability to develop their skills, thereby not aligning with the expected learning objectives. This study aims to increase the engagement of fourth-grade students at SDN Kalicacing 02 Salatiga by using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The participants in this study were 17 students from the fourth grade of SDN Kalicacing 02 Salatiga. The research design is based on the CAR design by Kemmis and McTaggart (1988) and was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The success criteria for this research were that at least 75% of the fourth-grade students at SDN Kalicacing 02 Salatiga should have a high and/or very high level of engagement. The results of the study showed that the engagement of fourth-grade students at SDN Kalicacing 02 Salatiga can be improved by using the Problem-Based Learning model. Observation results from the first cycle showed an engagement score percentage of 65.56%, which then increased to 82.60% in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the student engagement questionnaire results showed a percentage score of 63.97% in the first cycle, which increased to 80.78% in the second cycle. The actions in the second cycle met the research success criteria of 75% of the students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model can increase the engagement of fourth-grade students at SDN Kalicacing 02 Salatiga.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' creativity by applying Tri N teachings (niteni, niroake, nambahake) through social studies learning in elementary schools. The instruments used were observation sheets of the learning process and observation sheets or observation rubrics for the level of student creativity. While the interview technique is used to obtain data related to Tri N teachings to students. Students' creative attitudes were observed using the observation rubric. Tri N is one of the Tamansiswa teachings initiated by Ki Hajar Dewantara. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to describe Tri N learning in an effort to increase the creativity of class IV students at SD Negeri 5 Panjer. While the data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and the creative attitude observation rubric. The data analysis technique used refers to Milles and Huberman which includes the process of data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research that has been done show that the application of Tri N teachings makes students have high creativity so that they can produce innovative and creative works.

Abstract

The researcher identified an issue occurring among third-grade students at a primary school in Bandung. The problem observed was a lack of achievement in mathematics, particularly in the topic of angles. To address this issue, the researcher implemented the project-based learning model. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which involved conducting activities over three cycles. The results of the study indicate an improvement in students' learning outcomes in mathematics on the topic of angles. Specifically, the students' scores improved from 47.98 in the pre-cycle to 90.74 in the third cycle, reflecting an increase of 42.76 points, nearly doubling the previous learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education focusing on environmental awareness at SD Inp. Tappanjeng, identify the challenges faced, and explore efforts to overcome these challenges through the application of a green school concept. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with primary data obtained from interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, as well as secondary data from related documents. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis following the steps of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results of the study show that character education on environmental awareness is implemented through curriculum development, integration across all subjects, school culture, learning processes, and school health programs. The main challenges encountered include the low level of environmental awareness among students at home due to a lack of education from parents and insufficient support and practical examples from them. Efforts to address these challenges include routine discussion programs and parental involvement in school activities such as cleanliness competitions, recycling, and tree planting. Collaboration between the school and families has been effective in enhancing students' environmental awareness, emphasizing the importance of synergy between education at school and at home.

Abstract

The relationship between learning theories and their consequences for the creation of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum is examined in this paper. The requirement of integrating cognitive, behavioral, and constructivist learning theories, the challenges of successful implementation, and the need to match the curriculum with contemporary educational practices are some of the main topics covered. The goal of the study is to examine how different learning theories might improve the PAI curriculum and give students a more interesting and fulfilling learning environment. Using a qualitative methodology, the study collected information on current practices and difficulties by conducting interviews with curriculum developers and instructors as well as literature reviews. The results show that incorporating different learning theories into the curriculum enhances it and fosters students' moral and critical thinking. In order for teachers to successfully implement these theoretical frameworks in their instruction, the study also highlights the significance of continual professional development. In order to fulfill the varied requirements of kids, curricular policymakers should embrace a dynamic and inclusive approach to PAI, according to the research's conclusions. Abstract

Education is one of the important factors in a person's life. The behavior of today's students is quite a public concern, besides being a serious problem, it is also our duty to make students more advanced. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of group guidance with sociodrama techniques to prevent cheating behavior of class VII students of SMP PGRI 1 Semarang. The research used in this study was quantitative with the true experiment method. This study used a pretest-posttest control group design. Based on the results of the posttest of the experimental class and the control class. In the experimental class, the highest score was 97 and the lowest score was 80 while in the control class the highest score was 80 and the lowest score was 73. Based on the results of the calculation of the two-average difference test, the data presented in the table above is known in the Levene's test for equality of means column has a significant value of 0.001 (p> 0.05). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there is an effect of group guidance with sociodrama techniques to prevent cheating behavior of class VII students of SMP PGRI 1 Semarang. From the results of the analysis obtained in the experimental class before the group guidance service with the sociodrama technique was carried out, the average pretest value of cheating behavior was 71.8 and after the group guidance service with the sociodrama technique was carried out, the average posttest value of cheating behavior increased, namely 88.6. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the researcher makes several suggestions, namely: Group guidance services with sociodrama techniques are very useful, so it is hoped that the school can implement the implementation of services with sociodrama techniques. Guidance and Counseling Teachers can develop new innovations using this sociodrama technique. Students who have participated in group guidance services with sociodrama techniques are expected to be able to maintain the commitments that have been made and can actualize themselves better.

Abstract

Islamic education in the modernization era faces complex challenges, especially in preserving Islamic values while adapting to advancements in science and technology. This study aims to identify effective strategies for Islamic education to remain relevant and adaptable amid modernization demands. Using a literature review method, this research analyzes recent literature on ideological challenges, the integration of religious and modern sciences, the utilization of technology, and learning models based on blended learning and Project-Based Learning. The findings indicate that Islamic education can benefit from a holistic approach that combines Islamic values with 21st-century skills and digital technology to enhance accessibility and learning interest. These findings contribute to the development of an Islamic education model that can shape a competent Muslim generation rooted in Islamic values. This study offers an innovative approach to curriculum development and the use of digital technology to support the goals of Islamic education in the globalization era.

Abstract

Research on the effectiveness of group counseling services using self-management techniques to reduce the academic procrastination behavior of class The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services using self-management techniques to reduce the academic procrastination behavior of class XI students at SMK LPI Semarang. This research uses quantitative research, the Pre Experimental Design method with the One Group Pretest Posttest Design model. The sample in this research was 7 students who then became the experimental group. Obtaining the population using purposive sampling technique, using self-management techniques. The data collection tool uses the academic procrastination behavior scale. The results of the hypothesis test were obtained from the paired simple t-test or t test with a significance level of ɑ = 5% (0.05) resulting in the experimental group having a sig value. (2-tailed 0.304 > 0.05) where Ha is accepted, meaning that the treatment given to the experimental group was effective. It can be concluded that group counseling services with self-management techniques are effective in reducing academic procrastination behavior.
