Abstract

Literacy is a language skill used to communicate in various ways according to specific purposes. Literacy skills include listening, speaking, reading, writing, and critical thinking. It also involves the ability to understand, utilize, and respond to information from various sources. Literacy has become one of the main focuses of the national education curriculum. However, in reality, students in Indonesia still exhibit low reading interest. Therefore, literacy improvement activities are needed, one of which is the “NOLITA” program (watching, writing, and storytelling). NOLITA is a literacy enhancement program that incorporates three main activities: watching, writing, and storytelling. This program aims to improve the literacy skills of fourth- grade students by utilizing technological advancements to attract students’ interest and concentration, particularly through watching animated videos on a smart TV. After watching, students are asked to write a summary of the story and retell it at the end of the session. A supporting medium called the "Storytelling Picture Board" is used to help students remember the sequence of events in the story. Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of Pancasila learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students using Kado Ragam (Diversity Domino Cards) media. This research method is quantitative descriptive, with the type of classroom action research using two cycles. Data collection of student learning outcomes using multiple choice tests. The subjects of this study were 30 fifth grade students of SDN 3 Renon Denpasar. Based on the data from the research results of cycle I. obtained KKTP 70, average value 70.17, highest value 90, lowest value 50, absorption power 70.17% and percentage of learning completion 58.62%, with data on students who completed 17 people and did not complete 13 people, because the percentage of learning completion is still below 80%, the research was continued in cycle II. The results of the cycle II research showed an average value of 81.83, the highest value of 95, the lowest value of 60, absorption power of 81.83% and the percentage of learning completion of 86.21%, with student data that completed 26 people completed and 4 people did not complete and the research was stopped. The conclusion in this study is that the Kado Ragam media can improve learning outcomes of Pancasila Education. Suggestions for further research can create domino card media in other subjects.

Abstract

The quality of scientific research is largely determined by the accuracy of the data collection techniques employed. This article provides an in-depth examination of data collection methods based on the methodological perspective of John W. Creswell, a prominent figure in the field of research methodology. The analysis focuses on the three principal approaches developed by Creswell: quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. In the quantitative approach, Creswell emphasizes the use of surveys, experiments, and validated measurement instruments to produce statistically analyzable data. The qualitative approach highlights in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis as tools to understand the subjective meanings of human experiences. Meanwhile, the mixed methods approach allows for the systematic integration of quantitative and qualitative data to gain a more comprehensive understanding of research phenomena. The findings indicate that Creswell’s framework offers a comprehensive methodological guide, enabling researchers to select the most appropriate techniques based on research objectives, context, and complexity. Thus, understanding Creswell’s approach plays a vital role in designing research that is valid, reliable, and meaningful.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) model in thematic learning for fourth grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sambinae, Bima City. The main problem studied is how the implementation of the TARL model in thematic learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sambinae, Bima City and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for thematic learning at MI Sambi Nae, Bima City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation of learning activities, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The TARL model is an approach that places students in learning groups based on their level of mastery of the material, not based on age or class. This study aims to determine how the TARL model is applied by teachers in the learning process, as well as its impact on student involvement and understanding. The results of this study conclude that the application of the TARL model helps teachers in adjusting learning strategies to students' actual abilities. Students are more actively involved in the learning process and show an increase in understanding the material.

Abstract

Cognitive learning outcomes are measurable and observable changes resulting from learning experiences that align with instructional objectives. Based on IPAS (Integrated Science) test scores, 83% of students scored below the minimum passing grade (KKM). This research aimed to enhance the cognitive learning outcomes in IPAS for sixth-grade students at SDN Kemakmuran 2 Cirebon through instructional media. The medium employed was a scrap pop book (Scrap Book and Pop Up), which contains visually presented content. The subjects were 30 sixth- grade students. This classroom action research utilized the Kemmis and McTaggart model. Testing techniques were used to determine the improvement in learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the average learning outcome was 66.6, categorized as 'satisfactory.' This result improved in the second cycle to 82.6, categorized as 'good.' Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect of the Indonesian education system, particularly in addressing moral and social challenges in the modern era. The increasing cases of bullying, intolerance, consumerism, and declining social responsibility among students reflect a character crisis that demands immediate intervention. In response, the Indonesian government issued Presidential Regulation No. 87 of 2017 concerning the Strengthening of Character Education (PPK), emphasizing the shared responsibility of families and schools in cultivating character through curriculum, habituation activities, and teacher role modeling. One prominent societal response to this need is the development of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SD IT), which combine national curricula with Islamic values through an integrative approach. This study aims to examine the trends in character education implementation in SD ITs across Indonesia using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 10 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed thematically to identify approaches, core values, strategies, and challenges related to character education. The findings reveal that effective character formation in SD ITs involves collaboration between teachers and parents, modeling by teachers, project-based learning, Quran-based instruction, and integration of pesantren-based extracurricular activities. The success of these efforts is closely tied to contextual understanding, cultural integration, and consistency in implementation. This study contributes theoretically by enriching the discourse on Islamic character education and practically by offering insights for educators and policymakers in designing more effective and contextualized character education programs in elementary Islamic schools.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of effectiveness of the Geogebraassisted Problem Based Learning Model on the Numeracy Ability of Class IV Elementary School Students. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 036/I Kilangan in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This type of research is Pre-Experimental Designs using a quantitative approach. The research design used in this research is OneGroup Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques were obtained by observing the implementation of educators' and students' activities and giving essay test questions to students. Then the data is processed by comparing the results before giving the action (pretest) with the results after giving the action (posttest). The research results showed that there was a significant difference between the average initial ability score before being given treatment using the Geogebraassisted PBL model, namely 65.70 and the final average ability value after being treated with the Geogebra-assisted PBL model, namely 85.38. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the T-test, a sig value was obtained. (2-tailed) is smaller than 0.05, namely 0.005, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, and the N-Gain result is 0.59 so that the effectiveness of increasing students' numeracy skills is categorized as moderate. The conclusion of this research shows that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Geogebra is quite effective on the numeracy abilities of class IV elementary school students.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru dan mutu sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru melalui pendekatan studi literatur dengan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan, termasuk jurnal ilmiah, buku akademik, dan regulasi pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah yang efektif mampu menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif, memberikan supervisi akademik yang mendukung, serta memotivasi guru untuk terus mengembangkan profesionalisme mereka. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kompetensi manajerial, sosial, dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah sangat berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru serta kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Sebagai kesimpulan, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kompetensi kepala sekolah dalam aspek kepemimpinan dan manajemen guna meningkatkan mutu sekolah. Dengan demikian, kepala sekolah diharapkan dapat berperan lebih aktif dalam menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang berkualitas dan berdaya saing.

Abstract

Comparison of Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Students Taught with TGT (Teams Games Tournament) Type Cooperative Learning Model with GI (Group Investigation) in Grade VIII SMP YP-PGRI 4 MAKASSAR. Thesis, Department of Mathematics Education, College of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP) Ujung Pandang Education Foundation (YPUP).This research is a type of experimental research carried out at SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar. This study aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught with the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) type cooperative learning model are higher than the GI (Group investigation) type cooperative learning model. The research sample was grade VIIIA students of SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar consisting of 34 students who were taught using the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) type cooperative learning model and class VIIIB students consisting of 33 students using the GI (Group investigation) cooperative learning model, 2014/2015 school year. The data collection instrument used is a learning outcome test.The results of descriptive statistical analysis concluded that the learning outcomes taught used the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) type cooperative learning model with an average learning outcome score of 72.00 with a standard deviation of 12.30 while the learning outcomes taught using the GI (Group Investigation) type cooperative learning model) with an average learning outcome score of 61.42 with a standard deviation of 11.26. Based on the results of inferential statistical analysis, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of squares and rectangles of students who are taught using the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) type cooperative learning model are higher than those of students who are taught using the GI (Games Investigation) type cooperative learning model.

Abstract

his study aims to determine the learning motivation of grade V students in angular material in the subject of Mathematics with the help of Polypad media. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach and data analysis using Microsoft Excel software. The sample used in this study was 30 students in grade V of SDN Cibabat Mandiri 2. The instrument used was in the form of a questionnaire consisting of 5 indicators that included 15 questions, consisting of 8 positive questions and 7 negative questions. The results showed that the use of Polypad media significantly increased students' motivation to learn, with an average motivation percentage reaching 78%, which was in the "Good" category. These results show that Polypad media is able to create more interactive and interesting learning, so that it can increase student motivation and involvement in learning mathematics.
