Abstract

The main issue in this study is how to improve expository writing skills through the Problem- Based Learning (PBL) model in grade V at SDN 99 Kampung Beru, Galesong District, Takalar Regency. This study aims to describe the results of improving students' expository writing skills through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in grade V at SDN 99 Kampung Beru, Galesong District, Takalar Regency. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted at SDN 99 Kampung Beru. The research was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of three meetings. The data collection instruments in this research were test sheets containing essay questions administered at the end of each cycle meeting and observation sheets. Based on the research results, in Cycle I, it was found that students with incomplete scores had an average score of 54.54 in the low category, with 6 students. There were also 5 students who achieved completion with an average score of 45.45 in the high category. In Cycle II, the success of the intervention had improved. There were 5 students with an average of 45.45 in the very high category and 5 students with an average of 45.45 in the high category. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that 10 students achieved passing grades. One student did not achieve a passing grade, with an average score of 9.1.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of moral intelligence education in strengthening students’ character in the digital era and to identify teachers’ strategies in instilling moral intelligence. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Civic Education (PPKn) teachers and the principal of SMAN 3 Bulukumba, while the research objects were students of Class XI.1. The findings revealed that students demonstrated a high level of empathy (100%) and a fairly good level of tolerance (75%), but showed lower levels in respect (55%) and fairness (53%). Teachers played a crucial role in instilling moral values through role modeling, digital ethics education, critical discussions, and the habituation of positive activities. This study emphasizes that moral intelligence education serves as a foundation for strengthening students’ character, enabling them to adapt to the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with diverse ethnicities, races, cultures, and religions. The diversity of the Indonesian nation is often misunderstood as a difference by Indonesian society. Therefore, the last few years have witnessed various conflicts, one of which is related to religious intolerance among students that occurs in schools. Therefore, the active role of educators is very necessary to resolve these conflicts. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers' role models in cultivating an attitude of religious tolerance among students at SMPK Phaladhya. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Qualitative descriptive research can help gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon studied and contribute to the development of more accurate theories. The findings indicate that the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers' role models in cultivating an attitude of religious tolerance among students at SMPK Phaladhya is very good. However, it was found that some students did not understand and comprehend the importance of living a tolerant life, resulting in frequent conflicts of religious intolerance between students. This study was conducted because of the occurrence of these conflicts of intolerance. The novelty in this research is that this research is more specific to PAK teachers as role models in the context of junior high Catholic schools, where the challenges of religious learning have different characteristics from other religion-based schools and this research integrates the role model of a Catholic Religious Education teacher in cultivating an attitude of religious tolerance in students.

Abstract

his study examines the protection of land ownership rights from the perspective of customary law in Manjalling Village, Bulukumba Regency, with a focus on resolving land disputes involving boundary conflicts, inheritance issues, and multiple claims. The purpose is to analyze the dispute resolution mechanisms under customary law, their alignment with positive law, and the effectiveness of the legal protection provided. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation involving customary leaders, community figures, local government officials, and parties involved in disputes. The findings reveal that resolution through customary deliberation is effective in maintaining social harmony and remains the preferred choice of the community, despite challenges such as the absence of disputing parties and differences in perception. Customary law in this area is consistent with the 1960 Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) and the 1945 Constitution, serving as a complement to national law. Strengthening collaboration between customary institutions, the community, and local government is necessary to enhance the legality and protection of ownership rights in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the mother tongue (Sasak) in preserving local culture at SD Negeri 2 Kelayu Utara. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the research subjects being the principal, a sample of teachers from grades 1–6, and 5 samples of students from grades 4 and 5. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, namely collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the use of the mother tongue (Sasak) is still relatively low because the majority of school residents prefer to use Indonesian in daily communication. However, teachers and students sometimes use Sasak spontaneously in certain interactions. One of the supporting factors for the use of the mother tongue is a homogeneous social environment, with the majority of school residents having the same language family, namely the ngeno-ngene dialect. Meanwhile, one of the inhibiting factors includes the habit of using Indonesian, the influence of digital media, and slang. One of the school's efforts to preserve the mother tongue is through a Sasak language program every Thursday before teaching and learning activities begin. This program fostered students' interest in storytelling, storytelling, rhymes, speeches, and singing in the Sasak language. However, the program is currently discontinued due to the school's implementation of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategies applied in Toko Ma’had Al-Zaytun in improving employee performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that management strategies were implemented through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning involved structured work distribution and a shift system; implementation emphasized discipline, sincerity, and responsibility based on Islamic values; while evaluation was carried out through direct supervision and regular performance assessment. Supporting factors include transformational leadership, open communication, and a conducive work environment, whereas inhibiting factors are limited human resources, inadequate facilities, and lack of training. This study contributes theoretically by integrating modern strategic management theory with Islamic values, practically by providing recommendations for managing pesantren business units, and methodologically by proving the relevance of qualitative descriptive approaches in exploring complex managerial phenomena.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are identifiable and measurable changes in an individual's behavior related to their knowledge, attitudes, and abilities in relation to classroom learning activities. Although students were divided into groups, researchers found that certain aspects of the students made them feel less involved in the classroom learning process. The purpose of this study was to use Talking Stick Candy learning materials to improve learning outcomes. Talking Stick Candy is an appropriate medium for IPAS learning because it is interactive and packaged in the form of a game. The research and development (R&D) technique developed by Borg and Gall was modified by the author. A total of 20 fourth-grade students from SDN Watukosek participated in this study. The material validation scored 91% (very good), and the media validation questionnaire scored 84% (very good). With the initial pre- test score falling into the good category at 44% and the post-test score rising to 80.9% in the very good category, student learning outcomes showed improvement. With a positive response rate of 88.83 (strongly agree), it can be concluded that fourth-grade students at SDN Watukosek responded positively to the use of the Talking Stick Candy media, which has proven successful in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

This problem was driven by the low critical thinking skills of students. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-based teaching materials to improve critical thinking skills in the IPAS subject. The method that was used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample in this study consisted of 54 students who were determined using the saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique used essay test instruments which were then analyzed using a simple linear regression test. The statistical analysis showed that the Fcount value is 54.17 with a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It could be concluded that the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-based teaching materials was very effective in improving the critical thinking skills in the IPAS subject of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Sepang Jaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor sosial dan kultural yang memengaruhi rendahnya minat belajar masyarakat di Jorong Talang Tangah, sebuah wilayah pedesaan dengan keterbatasan akses pendidikan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya minat belajar dipengaruhi oleh tiga aspek utama, yaitu kondisi ekonomi keluarga yang terbatas, nilai-nilai budaya lokal yang kurang mendukung pendidikan formal, serta keterbatasan fasilitas dan dukungan kelembagaan. Anak-anak di wilayah ini cenderung diarahkan untuk membantu pekerjaan orang tua dibanding melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, sekolah belum optimal dalam memberikan layanan pendidikan yang kontekstual dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa rendahnya minat belajar bukan hanya disebabkan oleh faktor material, tetapi juga oleh sistem nilai dan struktur sosial yang belum mendukung pendidikan sebagai sarana mobilitas sosial. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan intervensi yang holistik dan berbasis budaya lokal untuk meningkatkan kesadaran serta partisipasi masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pendidikan.

Abstract

This reseach aims to apply the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperativelearning model in an effort to increase the learning motivation of eighth gradestudents of Aswaja Syamsul Falah Islamic Middle School in the subject of PPKn.The method used is Classroom Action Research, with data collection techniquesincluding observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The research stagesinclude initial observation, planning, implementation of actions, observation duringthe action, and reflection. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students ofAswaja Syamsul Falah Islamic Middle School. The results of the study in Cycle I,the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learningmodel reached 48%, while the increase in student learning motivation reached56%. Furthermore, in Cycle II, the implementation of the Teams GamesTournament (TGT) cooperative learning model increased to 76%, and studentlearning motivation reached 76%. Then in Cycle III, the Teams Games Tournament(TGT) cooperative learning model succeeded in reaching 96%, and studentlearning motivation increased to 97%. Thus, it can be concluded that thecooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type canincrease the learning motivation of class VIII students of Aswaja Syamsul FalahIslamic Middle School in the PPKn subject.
