Journal of Character Education Society (JCES) | ISSN 2614-3666, is one of the devotion journals managed by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Muhammadiyah University of Mataram and published every January and July. The publication of JCES aims to disseminate conceptual thinking and ideas, especially the results of community service, including: (1) science, applied, social, economic, cultural, ICT development, and administrative services, (2) training and improvement of educational technology outcomes, agriculture, information and communication, and religion (3) Teaching and empowering community and community of students, youth and community institutions on an ongoing basis. All scope is realized to the community to form a society of character and uphold the values of education.

Abstract

Abstrak: Guru bahasa Prancis di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan merupakan ujung tombak dalam memperkenalkan bahasa Prancis kepada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Melalui merekalah, para siswa mengenal bahasa Prancis. Oleh karena itu, guru bahasa Prancis sebagai sumber belajar siswa seyogyanya memiliki sertifikat kompetensi bahasa Prancis tingkat DELF B2. Salah satu kemampuan kebahasaan yang diujikan adalah kemampuan membaca. Agar guru-guru yang mengikuti ujian DELF B2 memiliki strategi dalam mengerjakan ujian, diperlukan pelatihan. Pelatihan yang dilakukan untuk guru-guru tersebut berupa latihan mengerjakan soal-soal kemampuan Membaca pada ujian DELF dengan menggunakan metode interaktif. Pelatihan berlangsung selama 4 kali pertemuan à 5 jam. Evaluasi diberikan sebanyak dua kali. Evaluasi kedua menghasilkan 2 peserta memperoleh nilai A, 6 peserta memperoleh nilai B dan 6 peserta bernilai C. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan memahami teks mereka meningkat setelah diberikan pelatihan.Abstract:  French teachers in vocational schools are the spearhead in introducing French to high school students. Through them, students learn French. Therefore, French teachers as a source of student learning should have a certificate of French competence at the DELF B2 level. One of the language skills tested is reading comprehension. For teachers who take the DELF B2 exam to have a strategy for taking the exam, training is needed. Training conducted for these teachers is in the form of exercises to work on reading questions on the DELF exam using interactive methods. The training lasts for 4 meetings à 5 hours. Evaluation is given twice. The second evaluation resulted in 2 participants getting an A, 6 participants getting a B and 6 participants having a C. The calculation results showed that the ability to understand the texts improved after being given training.

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan data, hingga tahun 2017, pelaku perkebunan sawit secara mandiri meningkat secara signifikan. Namun signifikansi ini belum disertai dengan pemahaman serta teknologi perkebunan secara berkelanjutan (Sustainable Palm Oil). Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendampingan, penyuluhan dan sosialisasi tetang standar kelapa sawit berkelanjutan Indonesia (ISPO) dan perundingan minyak sawit berkelanjutan (RSPO). Oleh karena itu, pengabdian ini dimaksudkan untuk mensosialisasikan Sustainable Palm Oil kepada petani sawit mandiri di Kabupaten Melawi. Sosialisasi ini dilakukan mengunakan metode focus group discussions (FGD). Materi FGD disusun mengacu pada standar ISPO dan RSPO serta untuk menggali keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mengatasi deforestasi. Temuan pada proses pengabdian ini ialah, 3 kelompok petani sawit mandiri di Desa Semadin Lekong, Desa Kebebu dan Dusun Sebaju, belum melaksanakan perkebunan sawit secara berkelanjutan, oleh karena itu sangat diperlukan pendampingan dari pemerintah maupun LSM terkait. Sosialisasi ini menjadi referensi dan informasi bagi pemerintah dan lembagai terkait untuk mengambil kebijakan dalam upaya sawit berkelanjutan.Abstract: Based on the data, until 2017, the number of oil palm plantations independently increased significantly. However, this significance has not been accompanied by an understanding and technology of sustainable Palm Oil. Therefore, it is needed accompaniment, counseling, and socialization on standards of Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil  (ISPO) and  Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Therefore, this service is intended to socialize Sustainable Palm Oil to independent oil palm farmers in Melawi Regency. This socialization was conducted using the Focus group discussions  (FGD) method. The FGD material was compiled based on ISPO and RSPO standards and to explore community involvement in tackling deforestation. The findings in this dedication process are that three groups of independent oil palm farmers in Semadin Lekong village, Kebebu village, and Sebaju hamlet, have not implemented palm oil plantations in a sustainable manner. Therefore it is very much needed assistance from the government and related NGOs. This socialization is a reference and information for the government and related institutions to take policies in the efforts of sustainable palm oil.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan membuat dan menggunakan Media Evaluasi Pembelajaran berbasis online kepada para guru SD di KKG Wilayah VII Kecamatan Sunggal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode direct (langsung), yaitu tim secara langsung memberikan pelatihan kepada para peserta, dan peserta masing-masing dengan perangkat laptopnya melakukan langkah-langkah pembuatan media evalusi pembelajaran online yang diajarkan oleh pemateri/pelatih. Hasil yang dicapai dari program ini adalah 75% dari peserta mampu membuat media evaluasi pembelajaran online yang dilatihkan kepada mereka, dan dapat menerapkannya dalam melaksanakan evaluasi pembelajaran yang mereka lakukan di sekolah masing-masing.Abstract: The purpose of the implementation of the Community Partnership Program (CPM) is to provide knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers in the KKG Region VII of the Sunggal District, in creating and using online-based Learning Evaluation Media. The method used in this activity is the direct method, ie; the team directly provides training to the participants, and each participant with his lap-top device carries out the steps of making an online learning evaluation media taught by the speaker/trainer. The results achieved from this program were 75% of the participants were able to create an online learning evaluation media that was trained on them, and could apply it in evaluating learning that they did in their respective schools.

Abstract

Abstrak: Angka kematian akibat injuri secara global terhitung 9% di seluruh dunia. Kecelakaan lalu lintas (KLL) dikenal sebagai masalah kesehatan umum di dunia pada abad ini. KLL menyebabkan peristiwa besar yang dapat mengakibatkan hilangnya nyawa manusia pada kejadian sehari-hari. Dari permasalahan tersebut perlu solusi dengan memberikan informasi yang sesuai pedoman terstandar mengenai pertolongan pertama pada injuri sehingga keparahan injuri dapat dicegah dan selanjutnya dapat mengurangi angka mortalitas yang disebabkan oleh KLL. Mitra yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 20 orang relawan lalu lintas di Malang. Metode pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini meliputi pendampingan dan pelatihan pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan lalu lintas (lifting moving, kontrol perdarahan, balut bidai, evakuasi dan transportasi). Setelah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan manajemen prehospital korban KLL terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman, keterampilan relawan lalu lintas terkait pengkajian pasien KLL prehospital, manajemen perdarahan dan pembidaian serta cara pemindahan pasien yang aman.Abstract:  The fatality rate due to injury is accounted for 9% worldwide. Traffic accidents are known as a public health problem in the world in this century. Traffic accidents causes major events that can result in loss of human life in everyday events. Of these problems need a solution by providing information according to standardized guidelines regarding first aid in injury so that the severity of injury can be prevented and subsequently can reduce mortality rates caused by Traffic accidents. Partners involved in this activity are 20 traffic volunteers in Malang. The method of implementing this service program includes assistance and training in first aid in traffic accidents (lifting moving, bleeding control, splint dressing, evacuation and transportation). After conducting prehospital management training activities there was an increase in knowledge and understanding, traffic volunteer skills related to prehospital patient assessment, bleeding management and stenting as well as safe transfer of patients.

Abstract

Abstrak: Gerabah merupakan produksi kerajinan tangan berbahan dasar tanah liat yang bisa bernilai estetika tinggi. Tujuan program ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang desain corak gerabah Banyumulek baik mulai proses pembuatan hingga corak gerabah. Metode dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan observasi, penyuluhan, partisipasi, pembinaan, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa adanya pelatihan desain corak gerabah Banyumulek untuk kelompok kerajinan sangat memberikan dampak yang signifikan karena para kelompok telah mampu membuat gerabah secara baik dan berkualitas serta mampu membuat berbagai desain corak gerabah bermotif tradisional dan modern. Untuk itu, disarankan untuk pemerintah dan lembaga perguruan tinggi untuk melaksanakan kegiatan pendampingan dan pelatihan yang berskala besar, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat masih terbatas, untuk itu diperlukan diujicobakan pada kelompok lain agar adanya pengembangan keilmuan.Abstract: Pottery is a production of clay-based handicrafts that can be of high aesthetic value. The purpose of this program is to give an overview of the design of pottery patterns of Banyumulek, both from making pottery patterns. The methods in this activity use observation, counseling, participation, coaching, training, and mentoring. The results of the community devotion show that the existence of design training for pottery patterns Banyumulek for the group of Crafts has a significant impact because the groups have been able to make pottery in a good and quality and able to create a variety of designs of pottery patterns patterned traditional and modern. Therefore, it is advisable for government and higher education institutions to carry out large-scale mentoring and training activities, and the community is still limited, so it is necessary to be tested in other groups for scientific development.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari kegiatan  pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk melatih penggunaan e-book siswa dalam mempelajari matematika dengan pendekatan terbimbing pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variable (SPLDV). Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah metode demonstrasi, tanya jawab dan diskusi. Peserta pelatihan adalah 35 siswa-siswi SMP Negeri 5 Ngabang. Analisis data hasil pelatihan ini di analisis menggunakan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas selanjutnya uji hipotesis menggunakan t sampel berpasangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dan homogen, hasil pelatihan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan adanya pelatihan e-book matematika berbasis terbimbing, dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variable (SPLDV).Abstract: The aim of this community service activity is to train students' use of e-books in learning mathematics with a guided approach to the material system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). The method used in this training is the method of demonstration, question and answer and discussion. The training participants were 35 students of SMP Negeri 5 Ngabang. Data analysis of the results of this training was analyzed using prerequisite tests namely normality test and homogeneity test then hypothesis testing using paired t samples. The results of the analysis show that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous, the results of this training can be concluded that with the existence of a guided-based mathematics e-book training, it can improve students' understanding of the material system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV).

Abstract

Abstrak: Klinik penulisan karya ilmiah ini bertujuan membantu guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan dalam penulisan dan publikasi karya ilmiah. Hasil survey dan diskusi bersama ketua MGMP Fisika SMA Kabupaten Lumajang menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak guru yang mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan publikasi ilmiah. Adapun faktor penghambat dalam publikasi ilmiah yang dialami guru antara lain kurangnya penguasaan TIK, kemauan dan kemampuan menulis, dan kesibukan tugas yang harus dikerjakan. Klinik penulisan karya ilmiah diadakan dengan dua kali kegiatan tatap muka dan empat kali kegiatan mandiri. Klinik penulisan karya ilmiah terdiri dari kegiatan mandiri selama 16 jam dan kegiatan tatap muka selama 16 jam. Klinik penulisan karya ilmiah yang telah diadakan menghasilkan satu artikel yang siap publikasi melalui jurnal dan tiga artikel yang masih dalam tahap penyelesaian. Hasil ini diharapkan mampu memicu semangat para guru untuk menghasilkan karya ilmiah. Pada dasarnya guru sangat antusias selama mengikuti kegiatan klinik penulisan karya ilmiah, namun kesibukan tugas di sekolah masih menjadi kendala utama dalam menyelesaikan penulisan karya ilmiah.Abstract: This scientific writing clinic aims to assist teachers in overcoming difficulties in writing and publishing scientific papers. The results of the survey and discussion with the Head of MGMP Physics at Lumajang Regency High School showed that there were still many teachers who had difficulties in conducting scientific publications. The inhibiting factors in scientific publications experienced by teachers include the lack of mastery of ICT, the willingness and ability to write, and the rush of work to be done. Scientific writing clinics are held with two face-to-face activities and four independent activities. The scientific writing clinic consists of 16 hours of independent activities and 16 hours of face-to-face activities. Writing scientific clinics that have been held produce one article that is ready for publication through journals and three articles that are still in the stage of completion. This result is expected to trigger the enthusiasm of the teachers to produce scientific work. Basically the teacher was very enthusiastic during participating in clinical writing activities, but the busy work in school was still a major obstacle in completing writing scientific papers.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pelayanan kesehatan dengan stimulasi dan deteksi dini tumbuh kembang anak minimal dua kali dalam setahun dapat di gunakan sebagai salah satu indikator yang bisa menjadi ukuran keberhasilan upaya peningkatan kesehatan  balita dan anak usia prasekolah. Apabila gangguan perkembangan tidak ditangani dengan tepat, maka dapat berlanjut hingga remaja atau dewasa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan anak balita dan usia prasekolah melalui deteksi dini perkembangan anak. Metode yang di gunakan dengan melakukan penilaian pemeriksaan deteksi dini perkembangan anak, diawali dengan menyiapkan bahan pemeriksaan formulir KPSP (Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan), kemudian menginterpretasikan penilaian pemeriksaan deteksi dini perkembangan anak. Hasilnya rata-rata perkembangan anak sesuai (S) sebanyak 24 anak (82,75%), meskipun masih ada yang meragukan (M) sebanyak 5 anak (17, 25%). Dengan mengetahui perkembangan anak balita dan prasekolah maka upaya mencegah, menstimulasi, mendeteksi, dan mengintervensi sedini mungkin jika terjadi masalah dalam perkembangan, sehingga tercapai perkembangan anak yang optimal.Abstract: Health services with stimulation and early detection of children's growth and development at least twice a year can be used as an indicator that can measure the success of efforts to improve the health of toddlers and preschoolers. If there are developmental disorders that are not handled properly it can continue into adolescence or adulthood. This service activity aims to determine the development of toddlers and preschool children through early detection of child development. The method used is to conduct an assessment of early detection of child development, begins with preparing the examination material for the KPSP form (Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire), then interpreting the assessment for early detection of child development. The result is that the average child development according to (S) is 24 children (82.75%), although there is still doubt (M) as many as 5 children (17, 25%). By knowing the development of toddlers and preschool children, efforts to prevent, stimulate, detect, and intervene as early as possible if there are obstacles in their development, so that optimal child development is achieved.

Abstract

Abstrak: Harapan akan meningkatnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia mulai terwujud sejak diberlakukannya program sertifikasi guru oleh pemerintah sebagai upaya peningkatan kualitas dan kesejahteraan guru di Indonesia. Pemberlakuan kuota dan prioritas bagi guru yang telah memenuhi syarat minimal kualifikasi akademik dan masa kerja serta panjangnya antrian proses sertifikasi membuka kesempatan bagi guru-guru untuk mempersiapkan diri lebih dalam mengikuti sertifikasi guru dalam jabatan dengan matang. Salah satu komponen portofolio yang harus disiapkan adalah karya pengembangan profesi dimana guru dituntut untuk menghasilkan karya tulis ilmiah. Untuk itu, workshop ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru melalui pendampingan penyusunan artikel ilmiah dan publikasinya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini tersusun dalam tiga kegiatan yakni persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kegiatan terdiri atas workshop sebanyak enam pertemuan, diskusi dan konsultasi secara daring, serta klinik penyempurnaan naskah artikel. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Hasil luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah artikel ilmiah guru yang telah dikirimkan ke seminar maupun jurnal berskala nasional atau internasional.Abstract:  The expectation on the improvement of education quality in Indonesia has started to be realized since the enactment of the Teacher Certification Program (TCP) by the government as an effort to improve teachers’ quality and prosperity in Indonesia. The implementation of quota and priority limitations for teachers who have met the minimum requirement either academically or based on years of service along with the long period of queue time for the certification process has opened the opportunity for the teachers to prepare themselves more carefully. One of the portfolio components that need to be prepared is the professional development papers where teachers are expected to write scientific papers. Hence, this workshop aims to help teachers through the writing assistance of scientific articles and publications. This community service consisted of three main activities including the preparation, the execution, and the evaluation. In the execution stage, the activities include six offline workshops, online discussion and consultation, and the clinic of article draft finishing. This workshop was held in Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) Laboratory Senior High School. Result outcome from this workshop is teachers’ scientific articles published either through national or international scale conferences or journals.

Abstract

Abstrak: Fenomena angka perceraian di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta tergolong tinggi. Seperti halnya yang terjadi di Desa Tejokusuman Kecamatan Ngampilan Yogyakarta. Di Desa ini, kasus perceraian semakin meningkat selama tiga tahun terakhir. Perceraian turut dipicu oleh hal-hal seperti ketika telpon selular dibuka oleh pasangannya dan kemudian ditemukan hal-hal yang bersifat pribadi, maka terjadilah percekcokan hingga berujung perceraian. Dengan kata lain melalui sebuah gadget, perselingkuhan terungkap. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut program pengabdian masyarakat ini diadakan bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan secara persuasif akan kasus perceraian yang meningkat di Desa Tejokusuman kecamatan Ngampilan, Yogyakarta. Melalui pendampingan Gerakan bijak bermedia pada pasangan pernikahan, metode yang dilakukan Pertama, peningkatan pengetahuan dan penerapan nilai-nilai tentang perilaku pasangan rumah tangga. Sebelumnya dilakukan Focuss Group Discussion (FGD). Kedua, pemutaran film online tentang peran bijak penggunaan gadget. Ketiga, penyuluhan tentang pentingnya keterbukaan dan mengelola konflik pada pasangan rumah tangga yang dilengkapi dengan pembuatan poster persuasif untuk mengkampanyekan pentingnya bijak bermedia yang dipasang pada setiap rumah. Pengabdian ini berhasil membetuk komunitas Gerakan bijak bermedia dalam berumah tangga, sehingga program pengabdian akan berkelanjutan dan tercapai tujuan yang diharapkan serta modul dalam mewujudkan keluarga yang Sakinnah Mawadah Warohmah.Abstract: The phenomenon of the divorce rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is high. As happened in Tejokusuman Village, Ngampilan Yogyakarta District. In this village, divorce cases have been increasing in the last three years. Divorce is also triggered by things such as when the cell phone is opened by the spouse and personal matters are discovered, then disputes occur until they end in divorce. In other words, through a gadget, the affair is revealed. Based on these problems, this community service program was held to provide persuasive knowledge of the increasing divorce cases in Tejokusuman Village, Ngampilan sub-district, Yogyakarta. Through media wise movement assistance to married couples, the method used is first, increasing knowledge and application of values about the behavior of household partners. Previously, a Focuss Group Discussion (FGD) was held. Second, online movie screenings about the role of wise use of gadgets. Third, counseling on the importance of openness and conflict management among household partners, equipped with the creation of persuasive posters to campaign for the importance of media wise that is installed in every house. This service has succeeded in forming a wise media movement community in the household, so that the service program will be sustainable and achieve the expected goals and modules in realizing a Sakinnah Mawadah Warohmah family.
