Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of rondo training on improving the passing ability of 13-year-old soccer players at SSB Sascwo Bandung. This study uses a quantitative method with an experimental approach and a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 24 13-year-old soccer players selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used the Passing Grid Test to measure the players' passing ability before and after treatment. The treatment given was 12 rondo training sessions in one month with a frequency of three times a week. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Paired Sample T-Test hypothesis test. The results showed an increase in the average passing score from 92.29 in the pretest to 113.96 in the posttest with an increase of 21.67 points. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant effect of rondo training on improving the passing ability of 13-year-old soccer players. Thus, rondo drills have been shown to be effective as a training method to improve the passing ability of 13-year-old soccer players. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the balance of training load and recovery at each stage of the Kharisma Bandung volleyball team's periodization, which includes the general preparation, special preparation, pre-match, and match stages. This study used a descriptive analytical approach with a case study method, where data were collected through a review of the periodization master plan document and interviews with the team's physical conditioning coach. The object of analysis was a training program consisting of 17 microcycles, with details of 5 microcycles in the general preparation stage, 7 microcycles in the special preparation stage, and 5 microcycles in the pre-match stage. Increases and decreases in training load were calculated using the formula for percentage changes in volume and intensity between microcycles. The results showed that there was a difference in the calculation of training volume between the author and the physical conditioning coach in the first to second microcycles in the general preparation stage of 1%. Furthermore, a more significant difference was found in the 17th microcycle, where the author recommended a volume of 50%, while the coach set a volume of 90% — a value considered too high and unable to accommodate the high intensity in the final microcycle of traditional periodization. Differences were also found in the rate of intensity increase, with the authors suggesting a 3% increase per microcycle, while the physical conditioning coach implemented a 6% increase per microcycle. The study concluded that the Kharisma Bandung volleyball team's periodization master plan did not fully reflect the principles of optimal load balance and recovery, particularly in the final phase of the training cycle. These findings recommend adjustments to the volume determination during peak microcycles and control of the rate of intensity increase to conform to traditional periodization principles that are measurable and safe for athletes. Abstract

This study aims to understand the motivational dynamics of a basketball athlete after a two-year hiatus due to injury. This research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The participant was a 23-year-old basketball athlete who had been actively involved in basketball since the age of 12 and had experienced an injury that led to a hiatus. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The findings show that the athlete's motivation after the hiatus was dynamic and influenced by love for basketball, injury experience, self-reflection, social support, family relationships, and athletic identity. The hiatus was not merely understood as a period of absence from sport, but also as a phase of recovery and reinterpreting the meaning of basketball. The participant returned to playing not only because of competitive demands, but because basketball had become an important part of life and self-identity. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the physical fitness level of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Brang Rea based on the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia/TKJI), to identify the distribution of students' physical fitness categories, and to determine the most dominant and the lowest physical fitness components. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive research design. The participants consisted of 77 seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Brang Rea. The instrument used in this study was the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) for the 13–15 years age group, which includes five test items: a 50-meter sprint, bent-arm hang/pull-up, 60-second sit-up, vertical jump, and an 800-meter run for female students or a 1000-meter run for male students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of frequencies, percentages, and categorization based on TKJI norms. The results of the study revealed that the overall physical fitness level of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Brang Rea was in the good to moderate category. The distribution of physical fitness levels indicated that the good category was the most dominant among students. The highest achievement was found in the arm muscle strength and endurance component, measured through the bent-arm hang or pull-up test, while the lowest achievement was observed in the cardiorespiratory endurance component, measured through the 800-meter and 1000-meter run tests. These findings indicate that students generally possess an adequate level of physical fitness; however, improvements are still needed, particularly in cardiovascular endurance, through regular physical activities and structured exercise programs. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between motor ability, futsal motor skill, and futsal game performance in students participating in school futsal extracurricular activities. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Jamblang, West Java, employing a quantitative descriptive method with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 15 male students from grades 10 and 11 who actively participated in the futsal extracurricular program. Motor ability was measured using the Barrow Motor Ability Test (composite T-score), futsal motor skill was assessed through a test battery comprising passing, dribbling, and shooting, and game performance was evaluated using the Game Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI), covering decision-making, skill execution, and support. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test revealed that the futsal motor skill variable was not normally distributed (p = 0.018), so Spearman Rho correlation was applied. Results showed: (1) a positive and significant relationship between motor ability and futsal motor skill (rs = 0.687, p = 0.005, R² = 47.19%); (2) a positive and significant relationship between motor ability and futsal game performance (rs = 0.731, p = 0.002, R² = 53.43%); (3) a positive and significant relationship between futsal motor skill and game performance (rs = 0.677, p = 0.006, R² = 45.85%). All three correlations were categorized as strong. These findings confirm that fundamental bio-motor capacity is the primary foundation determining technical quality and game performance of high school futsal extracurricular students. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between physical fitness and students’ concentration levels during classroom instruction at SMP Indonesia Raya in Bandung. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design to explore the relationship between physical fitness and students’ concentration levels at SMP Indonesia Raya. The study population consisted of all students at SMP Indonesia Raya Bandung from grades 7 through 9, totaling 75 students. The primary instrument used to measure students’ physical fitness in this study was the Nusantara Student Fitness Test (TKPN). The results of the study indicate that the students’ physical fitness levels, as measured by the Nusantara Student Fitness Test, generally fell into the moderate category, with an average score of 2.1600. Physical condition among students tends to vary because the standard deviation is fairly high. A similar pattern was also observed in students’ ability to concentrate on learning, as assessed using the Grid Concentration Test, where their overall visual focus performance fell within the moderate range, with a more even or homogeneous distribution of data. Research findings indicate that when students are in top physical condition, their ability to concentrate while learning in class also improves.
