Abstract

Clitoria ternatea compounds show significant potential as herbal drug candidates for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) through improving anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) parameters. This study aims to evaluate the potential of these compounds in binding to AMHRII receptors using an in silico approach. Several compounds, baicalein, isorhamnetin, and malvidin, showed high binding affinity towards AMHRII receptors, approaching or even surpassing some control drugs. These compounds have favorable toxicity profiles, with high LD50s, suggesting low toxicity and high safety potential for therapeutic use. Some compounds, such as isorhamnetin, termination, petunidin, malvidin, cyanidin, luteolin, and protocatechuic acid, have an unfavorable number of hydrogen donors, as does gallic acid, which has an unfavorable number of hydrogen acceptors. The development of technologies that improve bioavailability and pharmacokinetics can overcome these challenges. Further studies in vivo are needed to confirm the effectiveness and safety of these compounds in potential clinical therapies and develop innovative herbal therapies for Clitoria ternatea-based PCOS.

Abstract

Ensuring patient safety and improving hospital quality begins with the patient admission process. Patient misidentification can significantly contribute to patient safety incidents; therefore, monitoring the performance of patient admission staff is crucial in preventing adverse events. Staff performance assessment includes evaluation of attitude, professional development, and service performance. This study aims to develop a performance assessment model based on the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) method. This study utilized a qualitative approach with an exploratory design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document reviews, and surveys. Four staff members from outpatient admissions participated in the study. The study outlined assessment components consisting of attitude (7 aspects), professional development (3 aspects), and service performance (23 aspects). Self-assessment results showed all staff demonstrated competence in attitude and service delivery, while a minority lacked competence in professional development. The outpatient admission staff performance assessment model, based on the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) method, integrates three aspects (attitude, professional development, and service performance) and can be effectively implemented in hospitals to evaluate and monitor service quality.

Abstract

The 2022 study found that 21.6% stunting. Six million short toddlers risk losing 10 - 15 points of intelligence, requiring 300-400 trillion to recover. Vocabulary scores of short children are 16.1% lower and 48.8%. The balance of growth and development and the first two years have 20 points higher intelligence. Brain volume reaches 70-80% at the beginning of life; the brain of a three-month-old baby forms a double adult connection of about 1000 trillion through psychological stimulation, observation, hearing, sensing, and movement. The study aimed to determine the benefits of providing psychological stimulation of knowledge. Using a quasi-experimental design, the population of children aged 24-36 with a sample of 24 children was determined by census. The inclusion criteria were children under three years of age with no postural abnormalities. Exclusion criteria were suffering from mental disorders. There was an increase (p=0.000) of 3.20833 ±2.84344 cognitive points. In the first week, the average cognitive score of 10.8 points increased to 14.0 points. In week four, there was a difference of 1.02857 ± 0.93348 points (p=0.057) in gender-based knowledge. When differentiated by age group, there was a difference of 0.7111 ± 0.96465 points (p=0.107). In the first week, the children felt afraid and reluctant and did not dare to show their abilities, and the provision of psychological stimulation changed. The child is easy to interact with and does not hesitate to say names or make movements. There is an increase in cognitive ability of 3.20833 ± 2.84344 points. It is recommended that psychological stimulation is given to increase knowledge.

Abstract

Adolescents represent a population group that is particularly vulnerable to various nutritional issues, including both undernutrition and overnutrition. With the rising number of adolescents in Indonesia, adolescent nutrition has become a public health concern due to its significant implications for physical growth and development, as well as its long-term impact on nutritional status into adulthood and later life. This research explored the association between Clean and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors (CHLB) and dietary intake, with a focus on their impact on the nutritional status of adolescents. Utilizing a cross-sectional design, the study was conducted at SMPN 18 Mataram and included 60 student participants. Data were analyzed through Spearman’s rank-order correlation test. Findings indicated a significant correlation between CHLB and adolescents’ nutritional status (p=0.001, p<0.05). Similarly, macronutrient intake, including carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, was significantly related to nutritional status, with p-values of 0.000, 0.005, and 0.001, respectively (p<0.05). In contrast, no significant relationship was found between micronutrient intake (vitamin C and iron) and nutritional status, with p-values of 0.315 and 0.352, respectively (p>0.05). These findings suggest the need to enhance adolescents’ awareness and practices regarding clean and healthy lifestyle behaviors and to encourage the adequate consumption of both macro- and micronutrients in order to support optimal nutritional status.

Abstract

Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 on the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction sets a national target of reducing stunting prevalence to 14% by 2024 through integrated programs across government levels, from ministries to villages. In line with this policy, Kubu Raya Regency has shown a decline in stunting rates from 7.9% to 6.8% based on e-PPGBM data, indicating improved implementation of stunting reduction programs. This study aims to analyze the sustainability status of the stunting reduction program in Kubu Raya Regency using the Rapfish (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries) multidimensional scaling approach. Data were collected from ten Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) through surveys and interviews. The analysis involved six stages: identifying dimension characteristics, scoring on an ordinal scale, determining sustainability status, conducting sustainability checks, performing a sensitivity analysis, and applying a Monte Carlo simulation to account for uncertainty. The results show that the social and economic dimensions are categorized as "quite sustainable" with scores of 60.04 and 51.86, respectively, while the environmental dimension is "less sustainable" with a score of 38.02. Key attributes influencing sustainability include increasing the number of Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages, improving the accuracy of beneficiary data for food assistance, monitoring fortified food products, enhancing nutritional knowledge among pregnant women at risk of chronic energy deficiency, and strengthening village budget planning and cadre development. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to improve program sustainability, particularly in the environmental dimension, to ensure long-term success in reducing stunting prevalence.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment and often necessitates the assistance of family caregivers. One of the challenges faced by family caregivers in caring for T2DM patients is the psychological pressure that can affect their ability to cope with the situation. Psychological stress demands external support, particularly from Community Health Center (Puskesmas) services, which becomes crucial. This study aims to explore the relationship between Community Health Center support services and the coping mechanisms of family caregivers for T2DM patients in Malang, Indonesia. This research employs an observational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 324 family caregivers selected through cluster random sampling technique from an average of 1,787 monthly visits, using the Lamesow sample size formula from 1997. Data collection was conducted using the Health Service Support Questionnaire (HSSQ) and the Family Coping Index (FCI). Data analysis utilized the Spearman Rank test. The data analysis indicated a p-value (0.000) < α (0.05), which shows a significant relationship between health service support (Puskesmas) and the coping mechanisms of family caregivers. In conclusion, there is an important relationship between primary health service support and the coping strategies of families caring for T2DM patients. The findings of this study recommend the implementation of special programs for family caregivers of T2DM patients, aiming to improve the skills and effectiveness of home care assistance.

Abstract

Low physical fitness and high dance intensity cause eccentricity, leading to microscopic damage to muscle fibers. That condition leads to an inflammatory response, pain, or Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). It is a condition in which muscle soreness occurs after a high-intensity activity that occurs after 24-48 hours. This study aims to see the relationship between physical fitness and the risk of lower extremity DOMS in dancers registered in KEPK-FKUMM with the ethical number E.5.a/042/LEPK-UMM/II/2024. The research method used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional study approach. The research respondents consisted of 62 dancers out of a total of 120 based on the purposive sampling technique. Inclusion criteria included traditional and modern dancers who had practiced 2 days before the study. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria were dancers in the rehabilitation or injury phase. Data testing using correlation analysis with a p-value of <0.001 (p<0.05) means a significant relationship exists between physical fitness and the risk of lower extremity DOMS in dancers. The coefficient value of -0.731 indicates a strong relationship. The coefficient value means that the higher a person's physical fitness, the lower the level of DOMS.
