Abstract

This study examines the implementation of strategic planning based on the VMTS model (Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives) at SMP Negeri 1 Kedungwuni, Pekalongan Regency. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that although the school has formally established its vision, mission, goals, and objectives, the dissemination and understanding among staff and stakeholders remain uneven, leading to suboptimal implementation. Challenges such as limited budget, human resources, and the absence of systematic monitoring and evaluation hinder the execution of strategic programs. Additionally, stakeholder participation needs improvement to foster stronger ownership and commitment. The study recommends enhancing communication and socialization of strategic plans, increasing stakeholder involvement, establishing structured monitoring and evaluation systems, and optimizing resource management. These measures are vital to support the sustainable improvement of educational quality at SMP Negeri 1 Kedungwuni.

Abstract

Educational management consists of planning, organization, and control in managing the education system effectively. In the context of widyalaya education, the main challenge lies in the lack of human resources, infrastructure, and community support. The study aims to disseminate and implement the application of Hindu values-based management at Madyama Widyalaya Jnana Dharma Sastra, thereby contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the integration of Hindu teaching principles in educational management, including aspects of curriculum, leadership, educators, students, and facilities and infrastructure. This study is qualitative with a case study approach, focusing on Hindu-based educational management, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and FGDs. This study examines educational management based on Hindu religious values at Madyama Widyalaya Jnana Dharma Sastra, Buleleng. This institution implements Fayol's management functions synergized with Hindu teachings, such as Tri Hita Karana in planning and karma yoga in supervision. The organizational structure emphasizes the concept of swadharma and satyam-ahimsa leadership. Although internal coordination is running well, external relations with the Buleleng Education and Culture Office overcome challenges. The main challenges include policy dualism, bureaucracy, and resource constraints. This study is a pioneer in combining modern management theory with Vedic values, resulting in a holistic model that is contextual but requires adjustment to the national education system. The novelty of the study entitled "Education Management Based on Hindu Religious Education Values in Madyama Widyalaya Jnana Dharma Sastra" lies in its approach that systematically integrates Hindu teaching values such as dharma (truth/duty), tattwa (philosophy), susila (ethics), and ceremony (ritual) into all aspects of formal secondary Hindu education management.

Abstract

Science education in elementary school is crucial for fostering students' scientific understanding and critical thinking skills. However, the low learning outcomes in science among fifth-grade students at SDN 001 Lubuk Terap, evidenced by scores below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) and less varied teaching methods, poses a significant problem. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving students' science learning outcomes. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles at SDN 001 Lubuk Terap, this study involved 24 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results indicated a significant improvement in both teacher and student activities, as well as overall student learning outcomes. This was reflected by teacher and student activity percentages exceeding 90% in the "Very Good" category, and 100% of students achieving "Good" or "Very Good" in affective and psychomotor aspects. Furthermore, the average cognitive learning outcomes of students sharply increased from a "Sufficient" category in Cycle I to "Very Good" in Cycle II. Thus, this study concludes that the STAD cooperative learning model is highly effective in enhancing the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 001 Lubuk Terap, encompassing improvements in activities, affective, psychomotor, and cognitive learning outcomes. The STAD model is recommended for implementation by science teachers in other elementary schools to improve the quality of learning and student achievement.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the influence of Wordwall media on the learning interest of fifth-grade students in the circulatory system topic at SDN 141 Pekanbaru. A quasi-experimental quantitative approach was employed, with the entire fifth-grade student population (67 students) serving as the study population. Samples were selected using purposive sampling, with Class V A (36 students) designated as the experimental group utilizing Wordwall, and Class V B (31 students) as the control group receiving conventional learning.Learning interest data was collected using a validated and reliable 4-point Likert scale questionnaire. The data was then analyzed using SPSS 24, involving normality tests (Shapiro-Wilk) and homogeneity tests (Levene's Test), followed by a Paired Samples T-Test. The research findings indicate that Wordwall significantly increased students' learning interest, with the experimental group showing an average difference of 31.83 points, significantly higher than the control group's 13.21 points. The implication of this study is that interactive media such as Wordwall are effective in addressing low learning interest in abstract topics. Therefore, Wordwall is recommended as an innovation for science learning in elementary schools to enhance student appeal, participation, motivation, and comprehension.

Abstract

Bullying is a repetitive act intended to harm someone both mentally and physically, and this phenomenon is a serious concern in schools. One effective effort to enhance students' understanding of bullying behavior is through the role-play method. This research aims to analyze the influence of the role-play method on improving students' understanding of bullying behavior. The study employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 29 fifth-grade students from SDN 193 Pekanbaru as the sample. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively with SPSS version 25 software. The results of the paired t-test showed a significance value of 0.001 (p<0.05). This figure indicates the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1), proving a significant influence of the role-play method in enhancing students' understanding of bullying behavior. This improvement in understanding was evident from consistently higher posttest scores compared to pretest scores. The role-play method proved effective in facilitating students to internalize various perspectives, comprehend the negative impacts of bullying, and develop empathy, thereby making their understanding of this behavior more comprehensive. Thus, this study concludes that the role-play method is highly effective in improving students' understanding of bullying behavior. The implication of these findings is the importance of integrating role-play as an innovative learning strategy into the school curriculum to foster a safer and bullying-free learning environment.
