Abstract

In legal reporting, especially those uploaded via digital platforms such as Instagram, there are often discrepancies in the application of journalistic language, including ineffective word choices or inappropriate sentence structures which can reduce the meaning of the legal information conveyed. This research aims to determine and analyze text structure through vocabulary and grammar contained in legal reporting on social media. In the context of media or public discourse, word choice and sentence structure function not only to convey information, but also to shape the reader's views or opinions. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis approach. There are three data that are analyzed and come from news about the Constitutional Court's decision in the Narasi News Room Instagram account upload. Research data is used to describe objects as they are in the hope that it can help obtain accurate information in research related to text structure analysis in Narasi News Room Instagram account uploads. The research results show that the choice of words and grammatical structure in online media reporting is very important so as not to create ambiguity in legal language.

Abstract

The General Elections Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI) plays a crucial role in ensuring electoral transparency through data openness. In response to growing demands for openness, KPU RI launched the Open Data KPU platform. However, in the context of the 2024 General Elections, challenges such as data leakage, fragmented portals, system inaccuracies, and the absence of unified regulations under the One Data Indonesia initiative continue to hinder the effectiveness of open government data (OGD) implementation. These issues not only obstruct data governance but also risk undermining public trust in electoral integrity. To address this, the study assesses KPU RI’s OGD maturity using the Open Data Maturity Model (OD-MM) by Solar et al., through a qualitative approach combining expert interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that KPU RI’s OGD maturity level remains at Level 2, categorized as Emerging Capacities, which indicates that capabilities to meet the required criteria have begun to appear, with similar procedures being carried out, but without formal standards or documented processes. By applying the OD-MM framework in an electoral data context, this research offers insights for improving OGD governance in public institutions and enhancing the effectiveness of digital democracy initiatives.

Abstract

Motivation is an internal drive that directs individuals to act in order to achieve specific goals. In the context of university students, motivation plays a crucial role in decision-making, especially when choosing to engage in part-time work. These decisions may stem from financial needs, a desire to gain experience, or aspirations for financial independence. This study aims to explore the motivations of Sociology students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang in choosing part-time employment. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method involving five students who are currently working part-time in the Malang area. Data were collected through structured in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The analysis is framed using Max Weber’s theory of social action, particularly focusing on goal-oriented and instrumental rational actions. The findings indicate that students’ motivations for working part-time include using their free time productively, gaining experiences beyond academic settings, easing their parents' financial burdens, and fulfilling lifestyle needs. These students also demonstrate the ability to manage their time effectively by choosing flexible jobs and utilizing work hours to complete academic tasks. Theoretically, this study contributes to strengthening the application of Weber’s social action theory in understanding individual behavior in contemporary student life. Practically, the results provide valuable insights for educational institutions to develop supportive policies for working students, such as flexible class schedules, academic counseling services, and access to part-time job opportunities relevant to their field of study.

Abstract

This study examines the Indonesian capital market's response to the announcement of the integration of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) into Danantara, a new Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF). Given BUMNs' strategic economic role, this February 24, 2025 announcement was a market event with significant implications. The primary objective was to evaluate the presence of significant abnormal returns on 25 BUMN/affiliate shares and the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG), compare returns, and examine absolute share price changes. Adopting a quantitative event study methodology, the research used secondary data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), including daily closing prices for the specified shares and the IHSG. The data was collected during an event window from five days before to five days after the announcement. Analysis was conducted using the Market Adjusted Model, with hypotheses tested via a one-sample t-test and a paired-samples mean difference test (Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test) at a 0.05 significance level. The results show no statistically significant abnormal returns on either BUMN/affiliate shares or the IHSG. However, there was a significant decrease in the average price of both asset groups following the announcement. This finding supports the semi-strong form of the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH), as public information was integrated efficiently, preventing persistent abnormal gains. The significant price drop reflects pessimistic and cautious investor sentiment, indicating concerns over the complexity of this restructuring. The homogeneous and systemic market reaction suggests the policy is viewed as a large-scale transformation with potentially significant consequences.

Abstract

Parang batik is a very important form of cultural heritage, possessing sacred value. This batik originated from the palace environment and was worn by a limited circle. The challenge arose regarding how to revitalize the Parang motif so that it could be accepted and worn by the younger generation without losing its philosophical value. The goal was to introduce new values to the Parang batik motif, with the hope that it could be integrated into the creative industry in the future. A qualitative descriptive method with a historical approach was used to uncover the origins of the Parang batik motif and its philosophical meaning. An artistic approach was then used to reveal the results of the revitalization, which were analyzed through visual objects. The composition, pattern structure, and color were analyzed to reveal the results of the revitalization. This process involved adjusting the visual form while maintaining the motif's identity. However, aesthetic touches were added that were in line with the tastes of the younger generation. The results obtained include samples of Parang batik from the revitalization process. The background of the Parang motif was retained, but additional visual elements in the form of horizontal floral arrangements were added at the bottom of the fabric, creating a more modern compositional dynamic. The floral pattern is repeated vertically in bold colors, which differs from the traditional, more muted colors. This study concludes that the revitalization of Parang batik was achieved by using striking colors while maintaining the background of the Parang motif.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of inclusive education at Sekolah Alam Bandung in the practice of communication and interpretation of meaning that shapes an adaptive learning environment for neurodivergent students. The theory used in this analysis is symbolic interactionism, which is used to understand the development of awareness and acceptance of student neurodiversity in an inclusive education model. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and literature review involving 12 informants comprising teachers, staff, parents, and neurodivergent students. The research data was then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that consistent symbolic interaction, positive interpretations of neurodivergent behavior, and the collective use of inclusive language collectively reconstruct the social reality of neurodiversity from a deficit to a valued natural variation. This study concludes that the success of inclusion at Sekolah Alam Bandung is rooted in the community's ability to create and maintain shared meanings that support diversity, offering important implications for the development of broader inclusive education models and efforts to address stigma and promote more inclusive policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of Jawara Banten identity formation through a phenomenological approach focused on the lived experience and subjective meanings of its cultural inheritors. The jawara, who are negatively stigmatized by society, actually possess noble values, such as religiosity, courage, justice and solidarity, trustworthiness and honesty, as well as authority and well-being. These values can be emulated and integrated into lessons and extracurricular activities to strengthen character education among students. Thus, problems of moral degradation and student delinquency, such as drug abuse, brawls, and violence, can be addressed through the understanding and internalization of these noble values as a form of local wisdom that serves as a source for strengthening character education. Using the framework of Social Identity Theory by Henri Tajfel and John C. Turner, this article examines how the true jawara identity is constructed. The research approach is qualitative, employing a phenomenological method through in-depth interviews and a literature review. The results show that the formation of a positive jawara identity occurs through three psychosocial processes: (1) Social categorization, which firmly distinguishes the in-group of "true jawara" from the out-group of "thugs" or "henchmen"; (2) Social identification, where the jawara internalize noble values—namely being religious, courageous, trustworthy, honest, just, and authoritative—as the prototype of their identity ; and (3) Social comparison, which is a conscious effort to build a positive and respected image of the jawara in the eyes of society. This process of reconstructing identity meaning offers a rich and authentic model of local wisdom for strengthening character education. The noble values of Jawara Banten can be integrated into school subjects such as History, Social Studies, and Civics. Furthermore, the philosophy and heroism of Jawara Banten can serve as a source for reinforcing a character education that is rooted in national culture.

Abstract

This study analyzes the macroeconomic factors influencing the Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar (USD/IDR) in Indonesia, considering that exchange rate volatility can affect economic stability. The dynamics of imports, exports, money supply (M2), inflation, and Bank Indonesia's (BI) benchmark interest rate are believed to play a crucial role in currency movements. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the long-term and short-term effects of these variables on the USD/IDR exchange rate in Indonesia. This study is quantitative in nature, using time series data and applying the Error Correction Model (ECM) to identify long-term relationships among variables as well as short-term adjustment mechanisms. The analysis results indicate that in the long run, Money Supply (M2), inflation, and BI interest rates have a significant positive relationship with the exchange rate (Rupiah depreciation), while imports and exports show a significant negative relationship (Rupiah appreciation). In the short term, changes in all independent variables also significantly affect exchange rate movements, with M2, inflation, and BI interest rates causing depreciation, while imports and exports cause appreciation. A significant error correction value indicates the presence of an adjustment process to return to long-term equilibrium. The implications of this study highlight the importance of managing the money supply, controlling inflation, and implementing balanced trade policies in maintaining Rupiah exchange rate stability, as well as the understanding that BI interest rate hikes are often a response to existing depreciation pressures.
