The purpose of this article is to preserve use of the Indonesian language among students. Eight from Kayumas 2 elementary school participated in this research. Furthermore, the data collection techniques involved interviews and active participation observations. Then, data analysis of this research includes data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that parental involvement plays important role in maintaining students’ interest in using Indonesian language. Therefore, this research aims to identify specific challenges faced in preserving Indonesian language, as well as the innovative strategies implemented by teachers in facing this era globalization. The research results are expected to provide insights into efforts to preserve Indonesian language at school level and implications for character formation and national identity among students at Kayumas 2 elementary school.

Abstract

The narrative of child violence and trauma in the adaptation of Faisal Oddang’s short story Di Tubuh Tarra, dalam Rahim Pohon into the @budayakita podcast reveals the complex interplay between tradition and the realities of contemporary society. This study aims to examine the transformation of the narrative of violence and child trauma through Gerard Genette’s narratological framework and Judith Herman’s trauma theory. Employing a textual analysis method, the research identifies shifts in narrative structure that emerge during the adaptation process. The findings indicate that mothers and children occupy vulnerable positions within the dominant social system. The narrative transformation from short story to podcast amplifies a critical stance toward patriarchal structures that perpetuate harm against women and children. This study concludes that the short story to podcast conversion of Di Tubuh Tarra, dalam Rahim Pohon not only illustrates the struggle of children in the face of violence but is also expected to contribute to the discussion of literary research that focuses on child abuse.

Abstract

This article aims to explore how corpus analysis patterns are applied and to demonstrate the practice of using the AntConc application in literary studies. Through a systematic literature review method, this study synthesizes ten studies that utilized AntConc to analyze various literary works, such as poetry and novels. The findings indicate that literary studies using AntConc tend to adopt four reading patterns when approaching literary texts. Furthermore, AntConc features, including word frequency, concordance, collocation, and keyword analysis, can assist researchers in identifying, analyzing, and interpreting thematic patterns, discourses, and narrative structures in literary corpora, provided the objects of study are in written form and convertible into text format (txt). This study is expected to encourage researchers to engage in digital humanities and corpus-based literary research, which can begin with the use of AntConc, particularly in the exploration of Indonesian literary works that remain underexplored.

Abstract

A person's mental health affects their well-being, and a balanced personality structure between id, ego, and superego allows the main character to achieve their well-being. This is illustrated in Sunaryata Soemardjo's collection of cerkak Langit Biru Kanaya. The author displays the character's personality structure to deal with conflicts, so they can achieve prosperity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the main character's personality structure in Soemardjo's cerkak Langit Biru Kanaya, as described by Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory. The data are in the form of words and sentences that contain the personality structure. The data source is Soemardjo's collection. This research found 75 data points of the main character's personality structure from 11 stories: 27 id, 24 ego, 24 superego. The id is the dominant personality structure, affecting the main character's welfare, which ends with regret due to impulsive decisions. The main character's personality structure in dealing with conflicts provides an illustration of resilience in facing problems and maintaining readers' mental health.

Abstract

Learning about tata krama (etiquette) in Sundanese often faces obstacles, particularly due to the limited availability of instructional media that can realistically and comprehensively represent social situations. As a result, students struggle to distinguish and apply various speech levels—such as respectful, familiar, and harsh language—according to context. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in enhancing students’ understanding of Sundanese etiquette. A quantitative approach was employed using an experimental method with a pre-test post-test control group design. The study involved 44 seventh-grade students from SMP Alfa Centauri in Bandung. Data were collected through comprehension tests and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significance value of 0.00, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental group. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of 0.73 suggests a high level of improvement in learning outcomes. These findings demonstrate that AR media can effectively visualize complex social communication interactions, thereby supporting deeper student comprehension. Thus, the integration of Augmented Reality proves to be an effective and innovative solution for technology-based Sundanese language learning.

Abstract

This research analyzes the limits of tolerance in Sayyid Qutb's Fī Ẓilāl al-Qur’ān using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The phenomenon of religious tolerance in this tafsir reflects the need for clear boundaries for Muslims in dealing with differences, especially in the midst of conflict over the meaning of tolerance between Western and Islamic perspectives. Roland Barthes' semiotic method is used to identify and interpret the three levels of meaning in the tafsir, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. The main findings show that the limits of tolerance in Islam include the ability to distinguish between good and evil, limiting tolerance to personal issues without involving aqidah, and rejecting evil with good patiently and wisely. The study concludes that the connotative and mythical meanings in this text serve as profound social advice, which not only maintains religious values but also supports social harmony. The contribution of this research is to enrich semiotic studies in Islamic studies, especially in the context of tolerance. This research is relevant for understanding the limits of tolerance that can be applied in a global and multicultural context, as well as strengthening the relationship between semiotic theory and Qur'anic interpretation.

Abstract

The emergence of the text/context debate in folklore research has facilitated new interpretations of how researchers approach their objects. Folklore research focusing solely on "text" has faced criticism for disregarding the contextual factors surrounding the genesis of folklore. This study compares the paradigm that perceives folklore textually with the paradigm that contextualizes it by examining the Romantic-nationalist and Performative paradigms. The use of the Romantic nationalism paradigm as a representative of item-oriented research is based on its historical, epistemological, and practical aspects. This study uses a qualitative methodology with a literature review to evaluate and synthesize existing research on the Romantic-nationalist and Performative paradigms in folklore studies. The primary distinction lies in focus: Romantic-nationalism views folklore as a traditional artifact that fosters collective identity, while the performative paradigm sees folklore as a dynamic social event in constant flux. While each paradigm has distinct strengths and limitations, synthesizing both offers a comprehensive perspective encompassing the static and dynamic dimensions of folklore. This study provides a framework for understanding folklore as both cultural heritage and a mechanism for constructing identity within dynamic social change.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the degree of readability of fourth-grade Javanese textbooks used in East Java, Indonesia. The data provided from 20 pupils, 7 of whom were male and 13 of whom were female, between the ages of 10 and 12. Primary school textbooks and worksheets were the source of the secondary data. To ascertain the textbooks' degree of readability, the data was examined using the Klose approach and Fry's Graph. The Javanese language textbook that was used had a score of 9.285 according to the data analysis results, indicating that it has higher expectations for fourth graders. While the klose technique classifies the textbook as frustrating, meaning it is too difficult for grade IV elementary school students to understand, the analysis results indicate that the textbook is appropriate for grades 6 (elementary school), 7, and 8 (junior high school). The teacher team must pay attention to this when creating or selecting Javanese language textbooks for fourth-grade elementary school pupils, particularly in East Java.
