Abstract

The implementation of this study aims to assure the effect of CIRC learning model on students mathematics communication ability based on prior knowledge. The design of reseach is quasi-experimental design with the population is all students in MTsN District of Cakung Academic Year 2020/2021. The research sample chosen by multisage random sampling is students of class VIII-1 MTsN 20 and VIII-2 MTsN 28 as the experiment class and class VIII-2 MTsN 20 and VIII-1MTsN 28 as the control class. Average value mathematics communication ability of the students in experiment class 14.38 and control class 11.35. Based on data interpretation and analysis t-test with a significant value (α) = 0,05, the value is Sig = 0.049, so that Sig < α. With these results it was concluded that there was an effect of the CIRC learning model on the mathematical communication ability of class VIII MTsN students in Cakung District

Abstract

This paper discusses the resistance of students against authority of Tengku Dayah in Aceh. The scholarship on Dayah education in contemporary Aceh shows the resistance of santri (students) to the regulations that apply in the Dayah. But so far, studies that address the theme of resistance have not received adequate attention. Based on qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies, using Michel Foucault's theory. This article argues that the resistance carried out by the santri in the Dayah occurred because of their discourse on the rules and regulations that had been set, and the authorities of the Tengku occurred because of two dominating things, science, and epistemology. In line with that, this article emphasizes that the resistance of santri to the authorities of the Tengku includes various forms, namely: often being late during ablution, students sleeping during tahajjud, buying iftar outside the Dayah complex and eating during breaks, not attending privately for reasons sick, leaving the complex by climbing the fence, not wearing a white robe during Friday prayers

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of quality management to improve teacher competence at MTs Alwashliyah Gading in Tanjungbalai City. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative research method with a naturalistic qualitative approach. The findings indicate that the planning implemented at MTs Alwashliyah Gading in Tanjungbalai is based on the needs that must be met in anticipating the shortcomings of each teacher personnel, such as competencies that need to be improved, and also maintaining quality to optimize the quality of education services. Efforts made by madrasas and leaders in improving the competence of teachers/educators include enforcing discipline against teachers, holding meetings and discussions on an ongoing basis, providing supportive enthusiasm in improving the competence of teachers, and providing rewards for teachers who excel as well as giving punishment for undisciplined teachers. The quality management process to improve teacher competence at MTs Alwashliyah Gading in Tanjungbalai is going well, in teacher discipline the rules have been made by the leadership in such a way and make continuous improvements, and teachers also comply with these rules.

Abstract

The purpose of this quantitative study is to see the effect of the PBL model on the ability to understand concepts and self-esteem based on the students' initial mathematical abilities. The design of this research is a quasi-experimental with a population of all junior high school students in the Raba sub-district of Bima City for the 2020/2021 academic year. The research subjects were randomly selected, namely students from class VIII-A of SMP 05 Bima and VIII-A of SMP 06 Bima as the experimental class, while class VIII-D of SMP 05 Bima and VIII-C of SMP 06 Bima were the control class. The data collection technique used a test instrument to measure the ability to understand mathematical concepts and a questionnaire to measure students' self-esteem. Data analysis used descriptive statistics in the form of two-way ANOVA and t-test. The average value of students' conceptual understanding skills in the experimental class is 62.00 and the control class is 59.25. Based on data interpretation and t-test analysis with a significance level (α) = 0.05, the value of sig = 0.032 so that sig < . With the results obtained, it is informed that there is an effect of the PBL learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP in Raba sub-district, Bima City.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of prospective mathematics teachers in developing lesson plans during micro teaching activities. This study is a qualitative descriptive research equipped with quantitative data used to explain the findings that exist before the results of the study concluded in qualitative form. To obtain the data, the researchers conducted observations and assessments using assessment instrument sheets based on Permendikbud number 22 of 2016 against the lesson plan prepared by 34 prospective mathematics teachers UIN North Sumatra Medan during micro teaching activities and interviews. Assessment of the lesson plan is done by giving a score on each aspect of the component with a scale assessment of 3 that is fully appropriate, partially appropriate, and not appropriate. The assessment score of each RPP component is processed by descriptive statistics and then categorized according to quantitative data classification and converted into qualitative data of three categories, namely high, medium, and low categories. The results of this study indicate that the ability of prospective teachers of mathematics in preparing all components of the lesson plan reached a high category except on one component.

Abstract

This study aims to explore psychometric characteristics and detect whether the teacher-made chemistry learning evaluation instrument contains item bias that can benefit students of a certain gender. The research sample was 358 students of class XII SMA in Yogyakarta who were taken by cluster random sampling then the answer were analyzed by Winsteps Rasch Software 3.73. In general, it can be concluded that the teacher-made chemistry learning achievement instrument is good in terms of the reliability coefficient, the distribution of the difficulty level of the items, the majority of which are in the medium category, and only one that detected as misfit item. The results of the analysis using the Mantel-Haenszel method showed that three item was biased and two of them favored male students. With the detection of bias item, it indicates that follow-up from the teacher is needed to improve these items so that the principle of test fairness can be enforced.

Abstract

There is a tendency to ignore students' affective skills from the science learning process in the classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a holistic science-based learning video in order to improve the affective skills of students. The research method used is the research and development of the ADDIE model. A total of 14 students involved themselves as subjects in a limited test. The results showed that the holistic-based learning video developed by the researcher was suitable for improving the affective skills of the fifth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The media and materials expert validation test results showed that the percentages were 81 percent and 89 percent, respectively, in the very feasible category. The responses of teachers and students also show the same thing, which shows that the video is very suitable to be used to improve students' affective skills. This research recommends that students' affective skills can be improved through holistic science-based learning videos.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the interconnection integration of Quranic Tafsir and Anthropology as an analysis of the value of Islamic education in the Nyadran tradition that developed in Semedo Village, Pekuncen District, Banyumas Regency. Nyadran by the Javanese is carried out to welcome the month of Ramadan. At first, Nyadran was a ritual of worship of ancestral spirits carried out by Hindu-Buddhist. However, as Islam came to the archipelago, this tradition was transformed so that it became a tradition containing local wisdom that synergized with Islamic values. This article uses a qualitative method of field research. Data was obtained by conducting observations, interviews and literature review. Data analysis techniques are condensation, data presentation, and concluding. This study found that the Nyadran tradition conveys many values and messages of Islamic education following the Quran and hadith in its implementation. The educational values are the values of aqidah, shari'ah values and moral values. While the messages conveyed through the Nyadran tradition include invitations to maintain cleanliness, remember death, and be devoted to parents and others.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the characteristics of the tests used in measuring students' abilities such as item fit, item difficulty level, and test reliability and to measure students’ ability in electrolyte test takers' reliability, and person misfit. This research involved 260 students from two senior high schools in Bantul, Yogyakarta. The research instruments was integrated assessment instrument for electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution matter consisted of 8 essay question. The data were analyzed with Rasch model using Winstep software version 3.73. The results revealed that all items on the integrated assessment instrument have been proven to be fit with Rasch model, have good test reliability, and have good difficulty level parameters. Moreover, students' abilities were obtained very diverse, i.e. very low, low, medium, high and very high abilities. Meanwhile, the person reliability were very low and 48 students were identified as person misfit . Thus, further examination can be conducted, so that students who are identified as misfit s can obtain guidance from the teacher.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to determine the fit of the model on the polytomic scoring, and 2) to determine the quality of the mathematical connection instrument. This study uses a quantitative approach with exploratory descriptive research. The research subjects were the responses of the students of class VIII MTs Fadris Tasikmalaya Regency with a total of 135 participants. The data collection technique used an instrument of mathematical connection ability with a total of 5 description questions with a polytomus score. The data analysis used the Generalized Artificial Credit Model (GPCM) approach with the help of the R Studio software program with the irtGUI package. Based on the results of the analysis, this instrument has met the IRT assumption test, namely unidimensionality and local independence. Analysis with the R studio program also resulted in a model fit with the GPCM approach. The results of the analysis using the GPCM approach show that 3 of the 5 description questions presented have a quality that is suitable for use, because they meet the validity and reliability standards based on item fit and item information functions.
